In consequence, The White House has dropped a Florida campaign trip from Trump's schedule on Friday. He had been due to hold a campaign event at Sanford airport in Florida on Friday evening but his new schedule just lists a midday phone call on "Covid-19 support to vulnerable seniors."

Trump will, however, continue to perform his duties as the president of America.

Trump's physician Dr Sean Conley said in a statement, "They are both well at this time and they plan to remain home at the White House during their convalesence. I expect the president to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering."

The president, who is tested regularly for COVID-19, has kept up a rigorous travel schedule across the country in recent weeks, holding rallies with thousands of people in the run-up to the November&nbsp;3 election, despite warnings from public health professionals against having events with large crowds.

Trump has come under sharp criticism for his response to the coronavirus pandemic that has killed more than 200,000 people in the United States alone. The president has, however, touted his management of the crisis as one of the best in the world.

Trump's positive test caps a months-long response to the virus, the seriousness of which he has consistently underplayed. Earlier on Thursday night, the president predicted that the end of the pandemic was in sight.

The development alters the presidential race dramatically.

Not only this,&nbsp;Biden branded Trump's debate performance a "national embarrassment" for not addressing concerns of everyday Americans and failing to clearly denounce white supremacist groups.

"Maybe I should not say this, but the president of the United States conducted himself the way he did -- I think it was a national embarrassment," Biden said during a stop in Alliance, Ohio as part of a train tour through swing state Ohio and neighboring battleground Pennsylvania.

During the showdown, Trump declined to make a clear and forceful denunciation of white supremacist groups or the far-right, male-only Proud Boys, instead giving a shout-out to the militia group by saying they should "stand back and stand by," and that the real problem is "far-left" extremists.

In Alliance, Biden assailed the president's remarks.

"My message to the Proud Boys and every other white supremacist group is: cease and desist," Biden said.&nbsp;

"That's not who we are. This is not who we are as Americans."

Keeping in view the coronavirus pandemic in the US, election authorities have introduced mail-in voting. So voters have two options. They can choose to get their ballot at home and mail-in their votes., or they can drop it at a dedicated election dropbox.

He said when you are trying to elect a person for the most important office in the US, it was unfair that the candidates were given little time to express their viewpoints.

"I think the President did pretty good in articulating law and order issue, the healthcare issue and also the issue whether Joe Biden really controls the party," he said.

At one point during the debate, Joe Biden told Donald Trump to "shut up".

"This debate was a complete disaster for Donald Trump," said Bernard Whitman, Democratic strategist. He had some strong words for the incumbent president.

"Everybody knows that Donald Trump is a bully, he cannot be trusted, that he is a liar and that he is not likable," said Whitman. He opined that Joe Biden put forth his opinions quite assertively and that Trump was not fit to run the country.

Pushed by moderator Chris Wallace, and at one point by rival Joe Biden, Trump also pushed back on scientific findings that his environmental rollbacks would increase climate-damaging pollution.

The climate change exchange represented a rare microburst of policy discussion from Trump in a loud, nerve-abrading debate. And it ever so lightly nailed down the position of the Republican president on climate change.

''It is a sad statement about the President's history on climate change, but it is a major development to see him clearly acknowledge a role of greenhouse gases from human emissions,''&nbsp;said Chris Field, director of the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment at Stanford University.

''It's still outright denial of the science, in addition to denial of the devastating impacts,&nbsp;such as the record wildfires once again forcing evacuations in the Western US,'' said Michael Mann, a Pennsylvania State University climate researcher and a veteran in scientists' battle to make ordinary people and leaders face facts on global warming.

Trump said Tuesday that humans ''their tailpipe exhaust, oil and gas production, and smokestack fumes''&nbsp;are just one of many culprits for the weather-disrupting deterioration of Earth's atmosphere.

''You believe that human pollution, gas, greenhouse gas emissions contributes to the global warming of this planet?&nbsp;Wallace asked.

''I think a lot of things do, but I think to an extent, yes,''&nbsp;Trump finally responded after Wallace's third question pressing on the point.

Trump had evaded a direct answer to Wallace's previous two questions, instead responding with his administration's standard lines: It wants clean water and clean air, it supports planting trees and it blames worsening wildfires on Western states' failure to rake dead leaves, branches and trees on forest floors. Trump's eventual answer still dodged the key point, which is that burning oil, gas and coal is damaging the climate.

''Humans more than account for all of the climate change over the last 50 years (when the vast amount of the changes have occurred),''&nbsp;Donald J. Wuebbles, a professor of atmospheric sciences at the University of Illinois, said in an email.

Wuebbles, a lead author in the congressionally mandated National Climate Assessment in 2017-18, said because of a change in energy from the sun, Earth had been on a slight cooling trend before human-made heat-trapping gases kicked in.

Trump's attacks on climate scientists and repeated attempts to undo rules and laws reining in fossil-fuel emissions speak ''louder than any reluctant admissions about our changing climate,''&nbsp;said Kim Cobb, professor of earth and atmospheric sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

The position Trump took Tuesday is more conservative than that of many lawmakers in his party. Some Republican members of Congress became more outspoken on human-made climate change after Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other Democrats demanding aggressive action on global warming triumphed in 2018 midterms.

Trump's response Tuesday came under pressure, but he did take a position and acknowledge a human role. That compares to past statements from 2012 on in which Trump dismissed the science behind global warming as a 'concept'&nbsp;invented by China to hurt the United States, a 'hoax'&nbsp;and a 'money-making industry'.

&nbsp;As recently as mid-September, he told California leaders struggling with the worsening wildfires associated with global warming that the climate would ''start getting cooler,&nbsp;again. You just watch,''&nbsp;he added.

On Tuesday, after Trump nodded at a human role in climate change, Wallace asked him why he then had undone the Clean Power Plan. That was a legacy Obama administration climate change effort intended to move US&nbsp;Utilities away from the dirtiest fossil-fuel plants.

''Because it was driving energy prices through the sky,''&nbsp;Trump responded.

That's an exaggeration. The US&nbsp;Energy Information Administration projects electricity prices would have averaged 2 per cent&nbsp;higher through 2030 with Obama's emissions-cutting power plan, mainly from the initial costs of adding more solar, wind and natural gas production to the electricity mix.

Biden jumped in with his own question, asking Trump why he was axing President Barack Obama's other major climate effort ? much tougher mileage standards that would have boosted electric cars.

The Obama administration said its move would have cut 6 billion metric tons in greenhouse gases. Trump's answers didn't address the climate damage, and he claimed to have given ''big incentives''&nbsp;for electric cars. In fact, Trump had vowed to eliminate some tax credits boosting electric vehicles, and the White House has said it wants to do away with all incentives supporting renewables as well.

Wallace pressed Biden on his $2 trillion proposal to wean the United States off fossil fuels, citing Trump's claims that the plan would ?tank? the economy and cost jobs. Biden responded by describing massive investments in more efficient buildings, transportation and power plants that he said would produce millions of jobs.

Biden appeared to stumble at one point as he spoke of his plan, and Wallace and Trump pressed him on the left's more ambitious Green New Deal, with Biden saying the Green New Deal,&nbsp;rather than his plan, would ''pay for itself''.&nbsp;Biden specified a couple seconds later, ''No, I don't support the Green New Deal.''

President Donald Trump publicly acknowledged that humans bear some blame for climate change, but scientists say the president still isn't dealing with the reality of our primary role. Pressed repeatedly in Tuesday night's debate, Trump gave one of his fullest accountings yet of what scientists say is an escalating climate crisis threatening every aspect of life. Pushed by moderator Chris Wallace, and at one point by rival Joe Biden, Trump also pushed back on scientific findings that his environmental rollbacks would increase climate-damaging pollution. Trump's attacks on climate scientists and repeated attempts to undo rules and laws reining in fossil-fuel emissions speak ''louder than any reluctant admissions about our changing climate,'' said Kim Cobb, professor of earth and atmospheric sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology. The position Trump took Tuesday is more conservative than that of many lawmakers in his party. Some Republican members of Congress became more outspoken on human-made climate change after Rep. Trump's answers didn't address the climate damage, and he claimed to have given ''big incentives'' for electric cars. In fact, Trump had vowed to eliminate some tax credits boosting electric vehicles, and the White House has said it wants to do away with all incentives supporting renewables as well. Wallace pressed Biden on his $2 trillion proposal to wean the United States off fossil fuels, citing Trump's claims that the plan would ?tank? the economy and cost jobs. Biden responded by describing massive investments in more efficient buildings, transportation and power plants that he said would produce millions of jobs. Biden appeared to stumble at one point as he spoke of his plan, and Wallace and Trump pressed him on the left's more ambitious Green New Deal, with Biden saying the Green New Deal, rather than his plan, would ''pay for itself''. Introduced by Senator Robert Menendez, a ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the Prioritising Clean Energy and Climate Cooperation with India Act seeks to establish the US-India Clean Energy and Power Transmission Partnership (CEPTP) as the main forum for cooperation between the two nations on clean energy technologies.

The activities under the CEPTP include promoting joint research and development on clean energy technologies, encouraging US private investment in the Indian clean energy market and supporting initiatives to develop new and renewable energy generation capacity in India.

The legislation also promotes US-India cooperation on climate resilience and risk reduction, a statement said.

''Given the shared threat of climate change and India's growing need for electricity, there is a strong case to be made for strengthening the US-India clean energy partnership,''&nbsp;Menendez said.

''In that vein, I am introducing this legislation having witnessed firsthand the positive results that come when our nations work as a team to tackle common challenges,''&nbsp;he said.

It also sought America's participation in the International Solar Alliance led by India which is playing a key role in mobilising significant international investment in solar energy.

It urged the US to promote research, development and private sector cooperation on the production of electric vehicles and the planning and execution of an expansive charging station network to support extensive use of electric vehicles.

The Senate legislation, running into 39 pages, asks the Trump administration to support a report, within 90 days of its passage, detailing the scope and nature of the US' participation in Mission Innovation.

Observing that the US should support the Power for All initiative created by the Government of India through technical and other forms of assistance, the legislation said that the US should support the ambitious renewable energy generation goals set by the India through technical and other forms of assistance.

Increased demand for refrigeration and air conditioning in India, and the adoption of the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol, done at Montreal September 16, 1987, are driving innovation and investments in next-generation refrigeration equipment and refrigerants in India; it said.

As such the legislation says that enhanced United States-India bilateral cooperation and engagement on the development of technologies and chemicals that are compliant with the Kigali Amendment are in the interest of US industry leaders in the refrigeration and chemical coolant industries.

Menendez was part of a congressional delegation to India in the fall of 2019, during which he engaged with India's minister of New and Renewable Energy and Indian business leaders to discuss how the US and India can address the threat of climate change and deepen cooperation on clean energy production.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, a Trump ally, has said he wants accountability for the errors, including ones in the FBI’s applications for warrants to monitor Carter Page, a former Trump campaign adviser. The panel’s top Democrat, Senator Dianne Feinstein, has sharply criticized the committee investigation as an effort to attack Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential candidate challenging Trump in the Nov. 3 election. The committee held public hearings earlier this year with two other former officials involved in Crossfire Hurricane: former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and former acting Attorney General Sally Yates. Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson, who chairs the Senate Homeland Security Committee, is leading his own. That committee recently voted to move forward with subpoenas and depositions of dozens of Obama-era officials as part of an inquiry that Democrats say is intended to boost Trump’s re-election campaign. The Mueller probe found that Russia sought to interfere in the 2016 election to boost Trump’s candidacy and that the Trump campaign had numerous contacts with Russians. But Mueller concluded that the evidence did not establish a criminal conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Moscow.
