The Tuesday storm came in a series of deadly storms in Texas over the past few days, including one that killed seven over the weekend. The storms battered five US states in total, killing almost two dozen people, including four&nbsp;children.

As per media reports, more than 13 million people in Texas and western Louisiana were about to face grave weather. The National Weather Service warned that a few tornadoes may also occur in the areas.

Earlier on Sunday, the central US states faced 600 incidents of&nbsp;strong&nbsp;winds and hail, including gusts over 75 mph and hail the size of softballs. At least 10 US states reported incidents of more than 26 tornadoes.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has landed in another controversy, again in Dallas. According to The Dallas Morning News, Rice is a suspect in an assault case that injured a man at a Dallas nightclub earlier this week, confirmed the police.

As per the report by the newspaper citing police as source, officers were sent after the reports of an assault early Monday (May 6) morning at a nightclub. A man was taken to the hospital with injuries that were non-life threatening in nature including swelling on one side of his face. No charges of an assault have been filed as of Tuesday (May 7).

Both, the Chiefs and Rice's attorney have declined to comment on the incident so far.

Dallas quarterback Prescott was given a torrid time by the Chargers defence, sacked five times as Los Angeles chased only their third win of the season.

But after a muffed punt allowed the Chargers to tie the game at 17-17 in the fourth quarter, Prescott kept his composure to lead Dallas on a 15-play, 54-yard drive to set up a winning field goal for Brandon Aubrey with just over two minutes remaining.

The drive included a crucial third and nine conversion by Prescott that kept the chains moving to leave Aubrey in field goal range.

Aubrey, a 28-year-old rookie who gave up a promising soccer career to pursue a career in the NFL, stepped up to slot what turned out to be the winning points -- his 16th successful field goal from 16 attempts this season. The Chargers had one last drive in an attempt to save the game, but with no timeouts remaining, quarterback Justin Herbert had little margin for error.

The Chargers drive fizzled however when Herbert was sacked on second down and then saw a long third down completion attempt picked off by Dallas defender Stephon Gilmore to effectively end the game.

French prodigy Victor Wembanyama scored 15 points on his much-anticipated NBA debut on Wednesday but it was not enough to prevent the San Antonio Spurs slipping to a 126-119 defeat to Dallas.&nbsp; This year's top NBA Draft pick, in foul trouble throughout the second half, made 6-of-9 shots from the floor, 3-of-5 from 3-point range, with five rebounds, two assists, two steals and a blocked shot over 23 minutes in his first NBA contest.

“We’re delighted to announce the three USA venues that will host part of the biggest ICC Men’s T20 World Cup ever staged, with 20 teams competing for the trophy. Interestingly, England are the defending champions of the T20 World Cup having won the title in 2022 in Australia.

Several other potential venues have been identified for pre-event matches and training. These include George Mason University in Washington, which is the home for Major League Cricket (MLC) team Washington Freedom.

Tiffany Gomas, the woman who went viral for her infamous "that motherfu**er is not real"&nbsp;rant aboard an American Airlines flight, has issued an apology video. Gomas, a marketing executive from Texas took to X, formerly known as Twitter and said it was time to address the controversy.

“Hi everyone, it’s me, Tiffany Gomas, probably better known as the ‘crazy plane lady,’ which is completely warranted,” said Gomas at the start of the nearly two-and-a-half-minute clip.&nbsp;

"First and foremost, I want to take full accountability for my actions. They were completely unacceptable. Distressed or not...I should have been in control of my emotions. And that was not the case," she said.&nbsp;

"We all have our bad moments, some far worse than others. And mine happened to be caught on camera for the whole world to see multiple times," she added while controlling her tears.

Gomas also apologised to the people on the plane, especially the families with children, saying her use of 'profanities' was completely unnecessary.&nbsp;

“Sorry y’all. I hope that I can use this experience and do a little good in the world, and that is what I intend to do,” Gomas adds. “I hope that you guys can accept my apology and I can begin to move on with my life.”

The company had a peculiar demand for the desired candidates and that they needed to be 'white'.&nbsp;

''Only born US Citizens (White) who are local within 60 miles from Dallas, TX [Don't share with candidates]," read the job vacancy posted. The racial specification was not meant to be shared as suggested by the parenthetic note. However, one of the employees fumbled and posted the entire message online.&nbsp;

Foster had earlier told CNN that the school will remain on lockdown while police investigate. Meanwhile, the parents were asked to stay away from the campus and as of 10:40 am (local time) after the police had completed their search of the school building, students would be released to their guardians at a “reunification center”.&nbsp;

At campaign events in San Antonio, Austin and Dallas in Texas on Saturday, Bloomberg said his bipartisan nature made it more likely he could deliver on his pledges to expand health insurance coverage, fight climate change and reduce gun violence.

While his speeches drew modest crowds of no more than a few hundred in Austin and fewer still in San Antonio, many who attended said they were independents or former Trump supporters who had learned about Bloomberg through his massive advertising campaign.

"He’s better than Trump," said Marcelo Montemayor, 75, who listened to Bloomberg speak at a taco restaurant in San Antonio.

Montemayor voted for Trump in 2016 but worries the president’s conservative appointees to federal courts could undermine <a href="https://www.wionews.com/world/united-states-supreme-court-leaves-kentucky-abortion-restriction-in-place-267309">abortion rights</a>.

Bloomberg's television ads have dominated the airwaves both nationwide and in Texas.

Resistance, however, does not always have to be violent to yield results. Here are some non-violent protests from across the world that have led to change in the past.

The Dallas Police Department, which was struggling to recruit officers, has seen a surge in job applications after the ambush shooting this month that killed five officers and brought global attention to the Texas city, officials said on Friday. 
 
During the 12 days following the July 7 shooting, the department said it got 467 job applications, a 344 per cent increase compared with the 136 in a similar period in June.&nbsp; 
 
That is an average of 38.9 requests per day to become a police recruit compared with an average of 11.3 submissions a day for 12 days in June. 
 
In recent months, the police department has had to cancel academy classes because there were not enough applicants. 
 
Potential officers in the north Texas region have often opted for departments in fast-growing cities surrounding Dallas where starting pay is typically higher than in Dallas. 
 
Dallas police chief David Brown put out the call for new recruits at a news conference last week where he spoke of the deaths of five officers and the actions of others to save lives at a rally in the city in the incident that marked the deadliest day for US law enforcement since the September 11, 2001, attacks on the United States.

On Thursday five Dallas police officers were killed in a sniper ambush attack. Seven other police officers and two civilians were wounded in the shooting at the end of a protest over the recent police killings of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Philando Castile a suburb of St Paul, Minnesota. The Dallas shooter was a US Army reservist who served in Afghanistan. 
 
During Sunday service at Joy Tabernacle AME church in Dallas, the small congregation of mostly African-Americans expressed their support for the police and their service to the community, while insisting that changes be made to the way communities of colour are policed. 
 
&quot;Time and time again, particularly this past week with Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, we see that there are times when those interactions have proven deadly and they&#39;ve not had to,&quot; said Rev Dr Michael W Waters, founder and senior pastor of Joy Tabernacle AME Church. 
 
Dr. Waters said he and several of his congregants were among the protesters in downtown Dallas on Thursday and he led a prayer before the shooting began. 
 
Two law enforcement officers joined the congregation and discussed how to overcome the misunderstandings between the police and the black community. 
 
Law enforcement officer Chelsea Whitaker said she was one of the responding officers during Thursday&#39;s shooting and helped search rooftops for the shooter.&nbsp;Despite anger with the police, she urged compliance with law enforcement. 
 
&quot;I&#39;ve also had to talk to our brothers to try to get them to understand what compliance means. I also have to explain to them that you don&#39;t get an explanation for why I&#39;m here before you comply. I teach classes to help our young people understand what they are supposed to do when they are pulled over in traffic. I understand it. I get. And both sides are very important and you can&#39;t speak about the one without talking about the other.&quot; 
 
Dallas Police Department officer Margarita Argumedo called for unity. 
 
&quot;Seeing everybody just coming up, lining up to give us hugs, to bring food, to bring water, to just say that they are with us and that they are fighting the fight with us, even though...Some of them say, &#39;I don`t even like police, but I want to be here to say I&#39;m sorry for what happened. Dallas police headquarters heightened security on Saturday after receiving a threat against officers, police said on the scene told AFP two days after a gunman killed five officers in the Texas city.
