Per the schedule, Pakistan will host the 2025 CT, while India will host next year’s Women’s T20 World Cup, alongside co-hosting the next T20 World Cup (with Sri Lanka) in 2026. 
“I think the PCB took the sensible approach, and instead of doing something rash and facing isolation in the ICC and among other cricket nations, it opted for a solution where I think the PCB has gained more than the BCCI,” Miandad said, as quoted by the Indian Express. 
“Still, Pakistan is hosting a big event after a very long time, and we have sent a clear message that if you don’t come and play in our country, we will also not play in India,” the former batting great noted.
Meanwhile, upon deciding the neutral venue for the upcoming tournament, which will host all India matches, preferably Dubai, the ICC will announce the much-awaited schedule for the tournament.

However, the biggest breaking from the report published in Times of India (TOI) is that the PCB will follow BCCI’s path – meaning just like India will not travel to Pakistan (because of security concerns) for the Champions Trophy 2025, Pakistan will not tour India for any ICC event at least until 2027, when the ongoing media rights cycle ends.&nbsp;

It further leads to India and Pakistan being confined to playing at neutral venues in all ICC tournaments (for men’s and women’s). Despite India hosting the Women’s World Cup and Asia Cup next year and co-hosting the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 with Sri Lanka, Pakistan will not travel to India as neutral venues to stage their matches.

Moreover, several reports also claim that the PCB will not get any additional compensation for sharing the hosting rights, with the ICC also denying increasing their revenue share.

With all parties concerned coming onto the same page after weeks of discussions and denials, the ICC could be working on the final schedule for the Champions Trophy scheduled for the February-March window next year.

However, according to the latest reports, PCB is set to accept the hybrid model for the Champions Trophy or risk losing the entire hosting rights of the tournament. ICC has given PCB until Saturday to decide on their latest stance with them mostly likely to agree on the hybrid model.

<h2>Champions Trophy in hybrid model?</h2>

According to a report by India Today, ICC has given PCB to mull over the hybrid model in the next 24 hours. In case they don’t accept the hybrid model, Pakistan will risk losing the hosting rights and therefore, expected revenue in multiple million dollars. PCB will be reluctant to miss out on hefty revenue and could be tempted to host the Champions Trophy in a hybrid model.

<h2>What happened in today’s meeting?</h2>

With the meeting scheduled for 4:00 PM IST, the meeting was attended by members of all parties including the PCB and BCCI with few members attending virtually. However, after a request from two PCB directors, the meeting will now take place on Saturday. The meeting lasted less than 60 minutes with a possible solution likely to be out on Saturday.

As things stand, the ICC still has three options to decide on the outcome of hosting the Champions Trophy. The best possible option is hosting the CT 2025 in a hybrid model with India playing its matches outside Pakistan while the rest of the teams play in the Islamic nation.
