The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced an action-packed home schedule for the upcoming season, including listing the tentative dates for Champions Trophy 2025. In what is termed their busiest red-ball international home season in the century, Pakistan will host seven Tests from August (this year) to January 2025. Bangladesh, West Indies and England are three touring teams.

After Bangladesh, England will tour Pakistan for three Tests from 7-28 October, with Multan, Karachi and Rawalpindi playing hosts, respectively.

Pakistan will then travel to Australia and Zimbabwe for the limited-over tours before flying to the Rainbow Nation (South Africa) for a full-fledged series. While Pakistan will play three ODIs and as many T20Is Down Under from 4-18 November, they will take on Zimbabwe in a similar itinerary from November 24 to December 5.&nbsp;

Pakistan’s tour of South Africa begins with three T20Is, followed by three ODIs and two Tests.&nbsp;

"The way this team is progressing, our target is to win the World Test Championship final and Champions Trophy. There will be a similar squad playing there. The seniors will be there,” Shah added.

Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi is confident that Pakistan will host the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. The mega event is slated to be held in Pakistan, however, apprehensions remain as India have always maintained that they will not travel to their neighbouring country. “The current infrastructure situation in the USA is not very encouraging. Even if they successfully host the upcoming Major League Cricket, hosting an event like the T20 World Cup is a different ball game altogether. Where will you host the matches when the venues aren’t ready? Also, a long tournament in the far west could be a loss-making proposition for the broadcasters in the sub-continent, where the returns are highest,” sources close to the information said, as quoted by Cricket Addictor.

Besides, the broadcasters for the next ICC media rights are also believed to agree to this proposal, and if everything falls in place, the changes might be implemented.
