Demi Moore recently opened up about her unconventional childhood. During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, the 61-year-old actress shared a story about how her parents allowed her to drive on the freeway at the young age of 13 despite not having a license.

"Driving on the freeway, I mean, my parents would say, 'Okay, here's the deal. You can take the car. If you get stopped, you just have to say you took the car without permission,'" Moore recalled. "They kind of saw that as a win-win for everybody, but that is lunacy."

In a candid 2019 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Moore recalled a traumatic childhood moment when she helped save her mother from a drug overdose by using her small fingers to dig pills out of her mother's mouth.

While Moore’s biological father was Charles Harmon Sr., she was primarily raised by her stepdad Dan Guynes. Tragically, Guynes died by suicide in 1980 when Moore was just 18 years old.

Despite these difficult experiences, Moore told Barrymore that she has learned to accept her parents’ limitations, stating, "I accept that my parents did the best they could, and my mom did the best she could with the level of consciousness and awareness that she had at the time."

Moore shares three daughters, Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30, with ex-husband Bruce Willis. Becoming a parent herself helped her understand that her mother’s failures were not from a lack of love but from her own search for happiness and fulfilment.

"I don't think my mother came into this world with the intention to be less than nurturing, to be neglectful, to not really be able to show up as a parent for me," Moore reflected. "I think she came in with the innocence of a soul that wanted to find happiness, to feel love and to confirm. And when I look and find the compassion for my mother, I know that in that, I then open the pathway for my children to have compassion for me."

Barrymore, who has had her own share of complex family dynamics, resonated with Moore’s words, saying, "And that is why I say to my mom, 'I love you,' because the hard, weird, crazy choices you made led me to here."

Sean "Diddy" Combs has been placed on suicide watch while awaiting trial at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC), according to reports. The 54-year-old was arrested at a Manhattan hotel on Monday (Sep. 16). The next day, his indictment was unsealed, which revealed several charges including sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution.

On Tuesday, Combs appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to all the charges. However, his bail was denied twice and he was remanded to MDC. His placement on suicide watch has been described as a preventive measure, according to People.

Combs is reportedly in shock and while it is unclear if he has expressed suicidal thoughts, officials are taking precautions given the uncertainty surrounding his mental state.

The U.S. Department of Justice’s National Institute of Corrections defines suicide watch as "supervisory precautions taken for suicidal inmates that require frequent observation." It remains unknown how long Combs has been under these conditions.

Combs' legal team led by attorney Marc Agnifilo requested that the court transfer him to a facility in Essex County, New Jersey, arguing that the MDC is unsafe and unsuitable for pretrial detention.

In their motion for bail, Combs’ lawyers highlighted that "several courts in this District have recognised that the conditions at Metropolitan Detention Center are not fit for pre-trial detention," referencing multiple deaths and suicides within the facility.

"Just earlier this summer, an inmate was murdered," his legal team stated. "At least four inmates have died by suicide there in the past three years."
The indictment against Combs accuses him of orchestrating "freak offs," described by prosecutors as "elaborate and produced sex performances" involving coercion, drugs, and intimidation.

Music producer and fashion mogul Pharrell Williams recently opened up about his views on politics and why he thinks celebrities should not do political endorsements. In a recent interview, he gave his two cents on celebrities taking a stance on the upcoming US presidential elections.

"I don’t do politics. In fact, I get annoyed sometimes when I see celebrities trying to tell you [who to vote for]," Williams said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

When asked if he would allow presidential candidates to use his music in their campaigns, Williams said, "There are celebrities that I respect that have an opinion, but not all of them. I’m one of them people [who says], ‘What the heck? Shut up. Nobody asked you.’"

"When people get out there and get self-righteous and they roll up their sleeves and s---, and they are out there walking around with a placard: 'Shut up!' So, no, I would rather stay out of the way, and obviously, I’m going to vote how I’m going to vote. I care about my people and I care about the country, but I feel there’s a lot of work that needs to be done, and I’m really about the action," he added.

Pop sensation and country star Miley Cyrus has been accused of copying Bruno Mars' 2012 song "When I Was Your Man" for her Grammy-winning hit "Flowers". Tempo Music Investments has sued the singer, claiming that the two tracks have “many musical similarities”.

The investment platform, which allegedly owns a share of the copyright for the 2012 track, alleges that the harmony, chorus, melody, chord progressions and even lyrics were "intentionally" taken from Bruno's song.

Bruno, himself, is not a plaintiff in the copyright infringement case. Earlier this year, Miley bagged her first Grammy award for her song "Flowers", which won record of the year. A latest promo shows Dhafli (Sunil Grover) flirting in her signature style with Ranbir. That's when Alia makes an entry and introduces herself as "Alia Bhatt Kapoor", hinting that she has added Kapoor in her surname. Alia and Ranbir tied the knot in April 2022. They welcomed their daughter Raha Kapoor in November that year. While sharing the promo on Instagram, Netflix India wrote, "Bhatt-er pick your sides for this face-off." Check it out below!
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have decided to part ways after two years of marital bliss. The former couple is currently working together to come to an agreement for their divorce filing. And, the 55-year-old's first husband, Ojani Noa, thinks she should stay away from relationships for a while.

In an interview with Daily Mail, Noa advised JLo to remain single for a while before jumping into another marriage. “Stay single for a while, take 12 months off. If she meets someone new, maybe keep it private and not get married again. She has an amazing career and she’s a hard-working, beautiful woman, but when you’re with someone, you have to spend quality time with them and not think about being on camera,” Ojani said.

Ojani further said that Ben looks disturbed by all the attention JLo's partner gets from the media.

"I can tell you in my own experience, we would have disagreements in the car and then 20 minutes later, we’d have to sit and pretend everything was fine. But you can only pretend so much. When we were going through hell and going out as a couple, I was in a bad mood too. Because I knew inside we were not good. I hated going on the red carpet. She would try and get me to come and I’d say: ‘No way. I’m not going to pretend,'" he added.

Fans can go to extreme lengths to meet their favourite stars. But did you know that one of Govinda's fans posed as a maid and stayed at his house for 20 days? Crazy, right? The actor's wife Sunita Ahuja revealed the same in a recent podcast.

On the Timeout With Ankit podcast, Sunita said, "There was a fan who disguised herself as a house help. I was like she does not look like one, and could not even do the dishes. I told my mother-in-law about this, and was going crazy to know more about her. Eventually, we got to know she was some minister’s daughter and a Govinda fan."

She added, "This girl used to stay up for Govinda! Then I found out about her. She finally broke down in tears and confessed that she was a huge fan of Govinda. Then her father came and brought four cars filled with politicians with him. I think she worked with us for about 20 days. This is the kind of fan following he had. This is the type of fans he had. I was very young then… and there were times when we used to go to international tours where I saw female fans faint at the sight of him."

Sunita also revealed that she has been getting offers to participate in Bigg Boss for a few years now but she doesn't wish to participate. She said, “They've been making me offers for the last four years. For the OTT version as well, the one hosted by Anil Kapoor. They came to me twice for that, and I told them, ‘Are you mad? You think I clean toilets?' You ask me this question, but tell me, would you ask Shah Rukh Khan's wife the same thing? Do you think we're struggling financially? I don't even watch Bigg Boss.”

Ashley Park is opening up about the challenges of shooting topless for Emily in Paris' season 4, episode 8. The 33-year-old actress recently revealed how stressful the experience was.

At a press event in Rome on September 10, Park described the scene as “every actor’s worst nightmare.” In the episode, Mindy agrees to perform at the iconic cabaret to raise funds for her band’s Eurovision competition bid. However, the performance comes with a catch — it’s a venue known for its nude dancers.

“We have this recurrent memory of being onstage, not knowing what you're doing, in your underwear,” Park explained. “And that is what I was living out, actually, but surrounded by the most beautiful dancers in the world around me.”

The Beef star admitted that the scene took a toll on her. "It was so stressful and so hard to do," she told People. Park credited choreographer Kyle Hanagami and her support team for helping her push through. “If it had not been for the choreographer… I don’t think I would’ve gotten through it.”

In the episode, Mindy’s on-stage nerves are on full display, with her singing voice faltering during rehearsals when she has to strip down. However, she finds a creative solution during the performance, covering herself with different purses tossed to her by best friend Emily (played by Lily Collins) while dancing to Britney Spears’ "Oops!... I Did It Again."

Looking back, Park feels proud of her performance. “It’s one acting experience I will never forget doing,” she said.

Park also shared details about another touching moment from season 4: a singing scene in Rome where her character performs an original ballad called “Beautiful Ruins.” In the final episode, Mindy spontaneously writes the song after being inspired by a late-night conversation with Emily in the city’s historic piazzas.

“The final song in Rome is special because it was original,” Park said. She praised songwriter Freddy Wexler for bringing authenticity to the piece, adding, “He did such a beautiful job at infusing what felt like truth in my life into what was happening for the character.”

Ben Affleck is reportedly in a good place after his recent divorce from Jennifer Lopez, according to a close friend. The Gigli co-stars, who rekindled their romance in 2021 and married in 2022, have officially ended their marriage after two years. Despite the public attention surrounding their relationship, Affleck’s friend has revealed that the Batman actor is content and moving forward with his life.

In an interview with Paula Froelic of News Nation, Affleck’s friend shared insight into how the actor has been coping post-divorce. “(Ben) doesn’t care. He’s so happy to be free right now,” the friend said, adding, “She [Lopez] could wear all the revenge dresses in the world, she could show up to the red carpet naked — and he would not blink twice.”

Meanwhile, sources close to Lopez have shared a different perspective. According to OK! Magazine, Lopez is focusing on her career, with one insider noting, “She really wants that Oscar — and to be taken seriously as an actress.”

Lopez filed for divorce on what would have been their second wedding anniversary, following a summer spent apart. The couple missed several key milestones, including the Fourth of July, their second anniversary, and Lopez’s 55th birthday.

A source close to Lopez previously shared that she believed this relationship was her ultimate love story. “She truly believed this was the greatest love story she’d ever known and she was finally getting her chance at the fairy tale,” the source explained. “She just really didn’t stop to consider who the actual man was [in] the fairy tale.”

Insiders revealed that Lopez made significant efforts to save their marriage, but her attempts were not reciprocated by Affleck. “She tried so hard to make things work and it didn’t matter to Ben,” a source told the outlet. “She gave this everything she had, her whole heart. She would have done anything to make this work.”

Lady Gaga has addressed a Facebook group created years ago by some of her former classmates, who ridiculed her aspirations of becoming a star. The pop icon, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, briefly attended NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts before dropping out in 2005 to pursue a music career. At the time, she was performing under her now-famous stage name Lady Gaga. As the word of her ambitions quickly spread among her peers, they created a Facebook group titled "Stefani Germanotta, you will never be famous," where members mocked her performances and belittled her dreams of stardom.

Recently, a TikTok video showing screenshots of the now-deleted group went viral. The video also highlighted Lady Gaga’s incredible accomplishments over the years, including her 13 Grammy Awards, an Oscar and a host of other prestigious accolades.

In a rare comment on the viral video, Gaga addressed the hate she faced during her early years. "Some people I went to college [with] made this way back when. This is why you can’t give up when people doubt you or put you down—gotta keep going," the "Die With a Smile" singer wrote, offering words of encouragement to those facing similar challenges.

Gaga’s journey to fame was far from instant. After leaving college, she started performing small gigs in New York City, determined to make a name for herself. Just a few years later, in 2008, she released her breakthrough album The Fame, which spawned chart-topping hits like "Just Dance" and "Poker Face."

In 2016, one of Gaga’s former classmates, Lauren Bohn, reflected on the Facebook group and how its members went out of their way to mock the singer. Bohn recalled seeing a flyer for one of Gaga’s gigs that had been stomped on, with the muddy imprint of a shoe barely obscuring her name. Bohn praised Gaga for overcoming the negativity and staying true to her dreams.

Since those early days, Lady Gaga has become one of the most decorated artists in music. In addition to her 13 Grammy Awards, she won an Oscar for her co-writing and performance of "Shallow" from A Star Is Born. She has also landed five No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and six No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, including Born This Way and Chromatica.

Her latest hit, "Die With a Smile," a collaboration with Bruno Mars, soared to the No. 1 spot on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts. Gaga was also honored as Billboard’s Woman of the Year in 2015.

Which series will succeed three-time winner "Succession" as television's best drama? Emmy voters will reveal their selection on Sunday at a red-carpet ceremony where the historical epic "Shogun" enters as the favourite.

The story set in feudal Japan already has collected a record number of Emmys for a single season of a television series. "Shogun" picked up 14 trophies at the Creative Arts Emmys, a precursor event that recognises guest actors and crafts such as cinematography and production design.

In the comedy race, the tension-filled Chicago restaurant tale "The Bear" is poised to grab its second straight series honour. It scored 23 nominations, the most for a comedy in a single year.

Both shows debuted on the FX cable network, setting up a big night for owner Walt Disney (DIS.N), opens new tab, which will broadcast the downtown Los Angeles awards show live on ABC.

"Schitt's Creek" father-son duo Eugene and Dan Levy will host the ceremony, just eight months after the last Emmys. The 2023 honours were handed out in January 2024 because of strikes by Hollywood writers and actors.

With the Roy family saga "Succession" concluded, Sunday will bring a new winner of best drama, the night's top award.

"Shogun," adapted from a novel by James Clavell, is the clear favourite. The show, in both English and Japanese, earned praise for its lavish sets and costumes, and the telling of the story from the Japanese characters' viewpoints. A 1980s "Shogun" miniseries centred around an English sailor who was shipwrecked in Japan.

Stars Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai are in the running for top acting honours.

"Shogun is a huge undertaking, a sweeping epic that took years and years to make," said Clayton Davis, senior awards editor at Hollywood publication Variety. "It'll be a huge night for that."

Competing with "Shogun" is the final season of "The Crown," Netflix's (NFLX.O), opens new tab drama about the British royal family.

Elizabeth Debicki is seen as the frontrunner for supporting drama actress for her portrayal of Princess Diana in the days before her death.

COMEDY SHOWDOWN

"The Bear," winner of best comedy in January, appears likely to win again in that category, according to awards watchers, despite a debate about whether the story of family dysfunction and stressful kitchen conditions should qualify as a comedy.

Jeremy Allen White, who plays Chef Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto, and co-star Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Cousin Richie) are expected to win best comedy actor and supporting actor as they did in January.

At that ceremony in January, Ayo Edibiri of "The Bear" was named best supporting comedy actress. Now she is competing as a lead actress, pitting her against "Hacks" star Jean Smart, who has won two Emmys for her role as septuagenarian comedienne Deborah Vance.

"Hacks," from HBO (WBD.O), is viewed as the one show with a shot at defeating "The Bear."

Due to the timing of past seasons, the pair have never competed with each other at the Emmys, and the just-completed third season of "Hacks" was widely regarded as its best.

"I think 'The Bear' still has the juice to eke it out," said Joyce Eng, senior editor at awards website Gold Derby.

Other comedy contenders include ABC's "Abbott Elementary" and "Only Murders in the Building" on Hulu.

"Baby Reindeer," about a bartender stalked by a customer, leads the field vying for best-limited series. Scottish comedian and star Richard Gadd has said the Netflix show is based on his real-life story, although a defamation suit argues the stalker's behaviour is exaggerated.

Rivals for limited series include Netflix's psychological thriller "Ripley," FX's "Fargo" and HBO's "True Detective: Night Country," starring lead actress nominee Jodie Foster.
