<p>Macron has sparked the biggest demonstrations in a generation over reforms to the pension system, which were rammed through parliament without a vote using a special constitutional measure.</p>

<p>The reforms include raising the retirement age from 62 to 64.</p>

<p>Addressing the audience of Hollywood and international film stars, directors, and other industry professionals, Triet also criticised the government's cultural policies.</p>

<p>"The commercialisation of culture that this neoliberal government supports is in the process of breaking France's cultural exception, without which I wouldn't be here today," she said.</p>

<p>Culture Minister Rima Abdul Malak hit back that she was "gobsmacked" by Triet's "unfair" comments at one of France's most prominent events.</p>

<p>"This film would not have seen the light of day without our French model of financing cinema, which allows a diversity that is unique in the world. Let's not forget it," she wrote on Twitter.<br />

Days after a woman dressed in the colours of the Ukrainian flag staged a protest on the iconic stairs of the festival, on Friday, Iranian-born model&nbsp;Mahlagha Jaberi made a strong political statement against mass executions in Iran.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Showing solidarity with the people of Iran against the horrific spree of executions, Mahlagha Jaberi walked the red carpet of the international film festival wearing a dress that might attract the world's attention to the worrisome situation in&nbsp;Iran.</p>

<p>Jaberi showed up on the red carpet wearing a black bodycon dress. However, what made people's heads turn was the collar of the dress, which was a beige rope that was attached to her dress in the shape of a noose. Jila Saber designed her dress.&nbsp;</p>

Klum wore a bright yellow dress with a daring neckline and truly flaunted it all. The German supermodel made heads turn in a Zuhair Murad high-slit gown with diamond-shaped cut-out designs on top. The dress showed off major skin and topped off her look with bejeweled beads embellished on the shoulders of her flowing cape. Klum accessorized the look with large diamond rings, a pair of clear heels. She kept her hair loose. As she raised her arm to show off the flowing gown, she suffered a wardrobe malfunction when one of her nipples became exposed. Klum, though seemed unfazed as she continued to show off her fit physique in the dress and posed for the press. <p>Cannes cinemagoers may only have seen two episodes of new HBO series <em>The Idol</em>, which premiered at the festival on Monday, but they got what some critics said was a "shocking" amount of raunchy sex scenes.</p>

<p>The series stars Lily-Rose Depp as a pop star struggling to get back on track after a public breakdown, surrounded by heartless handlers, when she meets the manipulative leader of a modern-day cult, played by musician Abel 'The Weeknd" Tesfaye.</p>

<p>A leaked revenge porn shot of Depp with semen on her face is seen as a pathway to more fame, with a mention of reality star Kim Kardashian, and there is a significant nod to Britney Spears and the toxic fame that engulfed 90s female pop stars.</p>

<p>Filmmaker-actress Nandita Das took a sly dig at Indian stars attending the Cannes Film Festival. Das, who served as a jury member at the festival in 2005, shared throwback photos from her time at Cannes on her Instagram page and mentioned that the event is actually about films and not fashion.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Nandita shared her pictures clicked with several celebrities such as Divya Dutta, Rasika Dugal, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Javier Bardem and Salma Hayek among others from their Cannes days. <p>Actor Vikram and Anurag Kashyap are clearing the air on the casting of <em>Kennedy. </em>A day after Anurag Kashyap revealed that Chiyaan Vikram did not respond to his call when the filmmaker approached him to play the lead in Kennedy, the actor responded on social media and clarified his stand.&nbsp;<br />

In an interview with the Film Companion, Kashyap stated that his latest film<em> Kennedy</em> was named after Vikram and he wanted the Tamil superstar to play the lead. &nbsp;“I actually had a specific actor in mind when I wrote this film; which is why the film is called <em>Kennedy.</em> The film was called <em>Kennedy Project. </em>It is Chiyaan Vikram, whose real name is Kennedy. I reached out to him. He never responded. So then, I reached out to Rahul (Bhatt),” said the director.<br />

Post this, many fans expressed their disappointment in both artists losing out on an opportunity to work together.<br />
Reacting to numerous social media messages, the <em>Ponniyin Selvan </em>actor took to Twitter to clarify that he, in fact, had never received Anurag's message. "Dear Anurag Kashyap. Just revisiting our conversation from over a year ago for the sake of our friends and well-wishers on social media. When I heard from another actor that you had tried to reach me for this film &amp; that you felt I hadn’t responded to you, I called you myself immediately and explained that I hadn’t gotten any mail or msg from you as the mail id that you had contacted me on was no longer active and my number had changed almost 2 years before that.”</p>

<p>Leonardo DiCaprio lauded Martin Scorsese's filmmaking "ferocity" on Sunday as they basked in rave reviews at Cannes for their Native American crime epic <em>Killers of the Flower Moon</em>, while the festival also bowed down before Jude Law as King Henry VIII.</p>
