<p>According to sources, Sukha fled from India to Canada in 2017 using fake documents. There are more than 10 cases registered against him in Punjab.</p>

<p>Singh is among the 43 listed gangsters who have been involved in anti-India terrorism, according to the NIA. These gangsters left India on either Indian passports or through fake or forged travel documents or through the&nbsp;Nepal&nbsp;route in the past.</p>

<p>Earlier, the banned Indian separatist group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) said that it will hold protests and will shut down Indian consulate offices in Canada in the coming week, a Canadian media outlet Global News reported.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“We will not allow the Indian consulates to function and we’re going to push the Canadian government to name the individuals who are responsible for assassinating and giving the orders to hit Nijjar,” Khalistani radical Gurpatwant Singh Pannun from Sikhs for Justice told the outlet.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“He has been assassinated outside the gurdwara — that was being done to give a very strong message to pro-Khalistan Sikhs that they will be hunted, even in the Western world," he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>New Delhi responded in strong words as it lashed out at the Canadian government for "motivated and absurd" claims. In alignment with its earlier comments consistently made to Canada, New Delhi on Tuesday (September 18) reiterated and urged Ottawa to take action against anti-India activities going on in the country.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The High Commissioner of Canada to India was summoned today and informed about the decision of the Government of India to expel a senior Canadian diplomat based in India. The concerned diplomat has been asked to leave India within the next five days," as per an official readout.</p>

The industry is transitioning to electric vehicles, which could result in additional plant closures. The union is asking for a significant pay rise, improved benefits, and more employment protections.</p>

<p>“We’re going to keep hitting the company where we need to, when we need to,” The Washington Post quoted Fain as saying. “And we’re not going to keep waiting around forever while they drag this out.”</p>

<p>The strike's participating factories were not disclosed by Fain. He also refrained from announcing that provisional agreements would be required to prevent further strikes and did not define what would constitute “serious progress.” The current strikes affect the Wentzville, Missouri, GM van and truck facility, the Toledo Stellantis plant that manufactures the Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator, and the Wayne, Michigan, Ford plant that produces the Ranger pickup and Bronco SUV.</p>

<p>Separately, Ford and the employees' union, Unifor, avoided a strike on Tuesday by coming to a tentative contract agreement. The union said the agreement made "fundamental, transformative gains that addressed our core priorities of pensions, wages, and the EV transition." Late on Tuesday, the union and Ford announced that they had achieved an agreement.</p>

<p>Both parties declined to provide details, stating that the workers must yet ratify the arrangement. The agreement was reached just after 5,600 Ford employees and Unifor announced they were prepared to strike. An engine manufacturing facility in Windsor, Ontario, which produces engines for the business's extremely lucrative F-series trucks, was one of the workplaces threatening a work stoppage.</p>

<p>When Unifor announced the tentative agreement, it claimed that it had “used the most potent tool at our union's disposal: the right to strike.”</p>

<p>Although Unifor is also in negotiations with GM and Stellantis, it has decided to put its current agreements with those businesses on hold in order to concentrate on discussions with Ford.</p>

<p>The UAW and the automakers in the United States are still at odds over the provisions of a new, four-year contract. The automakers are only willing to provide roughly 20 per cent of the 36 per cent wage raise the union is asking for over a four-year period.</p>

<p>The current system of tiered pay for employees is nevertheless a source of contention because younger workers receive lower pay and perks or spend years in a temporary employment status. The businesses have offered to reduce the time it takes for employees to reach the top salary rate and have suggested raising the starting pay for temporary employees by 20 per cent, to $20 per hour. They did not, however, give in to all of the union's demands.</p>

<p>Canada has expelled India’s intelligence chief in Ottawa in connection with the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.</p>

<p>Making the announcement in parliament, Foreign Minister Melanie Joly&nbsp;said the Trudeau government had taken immediate action, without providing any name of the Indian diplomat.</p>

<p>"The head of Indian intelligence in Canada has been expelled as a consequence. If proven true, this would be a great violation of our sovereignty and of the most basic rule of how countries deal with each other,” Joly said.</p>

<p>“As a consequence, we have expelled a top Indian diplomat.”</p>

<p>She said that the expelled Indian diplomat is the head of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), India's foreign intelligence agency, in Canada.</p>

<p>Joly further said that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also raised the matter with US President Joe Biden.</p>

<p>She also said that the matter will be raised with her peers in the G7 on Monday evening in New York City ahead of the United Nations General Assembly.</p>

<p>Opposition Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre said if the allegations are true, they represent “an outrageous affront to our sovereignty”.</p>

<p>The latest move is expected to escalate the diplomatic stand-off with India, which is already peeved with Trudeau’s government over inaction against anti-India&nbsp;activities by Khalistani elements on its soil.</p>

<p>Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc said that Canada’s national security advisor and the head of Canada’s spy service have travelled to India to meet their counterparts and to confront the Indian intelligence agencies with the allegations.</p>

<p>LeBlanc said that a homicide investigation would be initiated by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.</p>
