<p>Reports have mentioned that the assailants may have killed Abhijit for money and his laptop. However, more information will divulge details.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The BJP will contest on six of state's 25 Lok Sabha seats, while the TDP will contest on 17 seats. Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena will contest two seats. For state assembly elections, the BJP will contest on 10 seats while the TDP will contest on 144 seats. The Jana Sena will contest on 21 seats in the state assembly.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The names of the seats will be announced subsequently by the respective parties. We are driven by a desire to fulfil the expectations of the people of Andhra Pradesh. We are confident that the people of Andhra Pradesh will bless the NDA alliance partners with an opportunity to serve them to the best of our capabilities," the TDP readout added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In other election-related developments, Prime Minister Modi will chair a high-powered committee on selecting election commissioners on March 14. <p>In the southern region of India's Vizianagaram district in Andhra Pradesh state, a tragic collision between two passenger trains occurred on October 29, 2023.</p>

<p>The collision resulted in the loss of at least 14 lives, with about 50 individuals sustaining injuries. The impact caused three carriages of a stationary passenger train to derail.</p>

<p>The incident had occurred on the Howrah-Chennai line in Vizianagaram district's Kantakapalli. The Rayagada Passenger train collided with the Visakhapatnam Palasa train from behind at 7 pm.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Vaishnaw, while discussing new safety initiatives by Indian Railways, referenced the Andhra train accident.</p>

<p>He told PTI news agency, "The recent case in Andhra Pradesh happened because both the loco pilot and co-pilot were distracted by the cricket match which was going on. Now we are installing systems which can detect any such distraction and make sure that the pilots and the assistant pilots are fully focussed on running the train."&nbsp;</p>

'Driver was distracted by cricket match': India's railway minister on 2023 Andhra train collision

<p>A floating bridge in India’s Andhra Pradesh state came apart just one day after it was inaugurated by a lawmaker of the state’s ruling party. The bridge was installed at RK Beach in Visakhapatnam on Sunday and was inaugurated by Y.V. Subba Reddy, a member of the upper house of the Indian Parliament, from YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).</p>

<p>Fortunately, the incident resulted in no casualties as no one was on the bridge when a part of it got detached and floated away.</p>

<p>In an official release, Stalin mentioned: "The government is taking all precautionary measures on a war-footing in response to heavy rainfall over the last two days due to Cyclone Michaung causing devastation in Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, and Chengalpattu districts."&nbsp;</p>

<p>He added that the educational institutions, banks, and financial institutions have been granted holidays for Monday and Tuesday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Relief measures are being undertaken in the affected districts, with senior ministers, along with government officials, directly monitoring the situation," he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The agency has said that light to moderate rainfall will lash&nbsp;most places and heavy to very heavy rainfall will hit&nbsp;a few places, with extremely heavy rainfall expected in isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam&nbsp;on December 4 and 5.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chennai's popular Marina Beach was flooded due to heavy downpours, and the roads from Mount Road to Marina Beach were blocked due to severe waterlogging.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Chennai airfield will remain closed until 9:00 am (IST) on Tuesday. "Airfield closed for arrival and departure operations till 0900 hrs IST tomorrow due to adverse weather conditions", said the Chennai airport authority in a post on 'X'.&nbsp;</p>
