<p>US prosecutors said that APT 31 belonged to a group managed by the Chinese Ministry of State Security, the intelligence agency of the country based in the city of Wuhan.</p>

<p>In the indictment, the US named Chinese citizens Ni Gaobin, Weng Ming, Cheng Feng, Peng Yaowen, Sun Xiaohui, Xiong Wang and Zhao Guangzong, who are between the age of 34 and 38 and live in China.</p>

<p>The United States (US)&nbsp;has started to fly out its citizens from Haiti by helicopter as reports of fresh fighting emerged in the gang-dominated capital of the Caribbean country.</p>

<p>There were also reports of fierce gunfire in some of the wealthiest enclaves of Port-au-Prince.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Speaking to the reporters, State Department spokesperson Vedant Patel on Wednesday (Mar 20) said that the government-chartered aircraft have started the process of ferrying the Americans from Port-au-Prince to the Dominican Republic.</p>

<p>“The violence on the ground in Port-au-Prince has been dire and the security situation is certainly one of high risk but we would not conduct such an operation if we did not feel it was safe to do so and we did not have the expertise to conduct something like this,” said Patel.</p>

<p>According to Patel, the evacuation flights are likely to fly on a day-to-day basis and will carry 30 Americans.</p>

<p>According to the data, the percentage of Americans identifying as "Just Christian" decreased from 21 per cent in October 2021 to 18 per cent in May 2023. Similarly, the number of Americans identifying as Protestant declined from 26 per cent to 25 per cent during the same period.</p>

<p>The May 2023 AP-NORC poll also revealed a rise in the percentage of Americans who have "hardly any confidence at all" in individuals leading organised religion, increasing from 37 per cent in 2020 to 44 per cent in 2023. These figures are even higher than those recorded in 2017 (32 per cent) and 2016 (24 per cent).</p>

Following this major development that has brought Trump and adult star Stormy Daniels into the spotlight in the US and all around the world, the&nbsp;survey was conducted on Wednesday and Thursday.</p>

<h2><strong>Democrats and Republicans divided over Trump case&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>Republicans and Democrats seemed to be sharply divided over the case. Just 16% of Republicans believed that the accusations were justified, compared to 84% of self-described Democrats.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Facebook was second, but the numbers were far from 900,000. Similar searches for the app were 385,410. Meanwhile, Snapchat searches were at 217,400 and Twitter at 92,490. Furthermore, TikTok, on the other hand, had just 14,120 searches.</p>

<p>However, the volume is not as harmful as it looks. Facebook, Instagram and TikTok are the apps Americans use the most. A majority of the American population have social media applications on their phone.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In 2022, TikTok was the most downloaded app in the United States and worldwide.&nbsp;</p>

<p>If a person wants to break it off with Instagram, they have two choices. They can take a permanent break (delete your Instagram account forever with no givebacks) or take a temporary one by deactivating their account. The latter gives a user the option of coming back later.</p>

<p>According to the data, searches for 'deactivate Instagram' grew by 2,400 per cent, peaking on February 19, whereas the 'deactivate Facebook' section in the search grew by 1,566 per cent. It doesn't come as a shock as the Mark Zuckerberg-owned Meta has suffered after Apple changed its privacy policy recently.</p>

Americans unlikely to enjoy family gatherings: Survey

<p>The majority of Americans believe that civil war is at least somewhat likely to occur over the next ten years, according to a recent survey.&nbsp;</p>

<p>US citizens feel that divisions among people will worsen in the years to come and that they have gotten worse since 2021 began.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Compared to only 8% who say the country has been less divided, two-thirds of Americans (66%) believe that political divisions in our country have gotten worse since the start of 2021. Few expect a better future: 62% expect political divisions to worsen.</p>

<p>Political violence has escalated since the beginning of 2021, according to a comparable percentage (63%) as the percentage who claim that political divisions have gotten worse (66%).</p>

<p>Republicans are more inclined than Democrats to claim that the political chasm has widened recently and that it will continue to do so. The partisan disparity in opinions on the likelihood of political violence, both now and in the future, is substantially less.</p>

<p>Fears of political violence have increased since the January 6 attack on the US Capitol.</p>

<p>A large-scale war on the size of the American Civil War (1861–1865), according to the majority of analysts, is still unlikely.</p>

Americans flooding Mexico City, and locals want them to go home

<p>According to a new mega survey by medical and public health scientists, at least 50 million Americans, or one in five adults, believe in justified political violence in certain circumstances.</p>

<p>The study titled ‘Views of American Democracy and Society and Support for Political Violence’, has stated that alienation and mistrust from democratic institutions have reached such a peak that substantial US minorities feel that violence is just as long as it serves its political ends, reports The Guardian.</p>

<p>&nbsp;“The prospect of large-scale violence in the near future is entirely plausible,” scientists have warned, adding that this is more than a year after the horrific Jan. 6 riots on Capitol Hill.</p>

<p>The team of scientists at the University of California, Davis, came to the conclusion after collating opinions of almost 9,000 people across the country to find out the acceptance rate of political violence.</p>

<p>The survey was done by scientists Garen Wintemute, Sonia Robinson and Andrew Crawford, and it was conducted over three weeks beginning on May 3.</p>

<p>The survey threw up some alarming statics. It says that 3 per cent of respondents or about 7 million people feel that political violence is usually or always justified. While one in four of the surveyors – equivalent to more than 60 million Americans – believe that violence can be justified “to preserve an American way of life based on western European traditions”.</p>

<p>But the most alarming aspect of the survey revealed that almost 7.1 per cent said that can kill a person to serve an important political goal. The UC Davis team points out that it is equivalent of 18 million Americans.</p>

<p>Apart from that,&nbsp;nearly a third of Americans surveyed among 9,000 believe the lie that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from Donald Trump.</p>

<p>The scientists claimed that extreme political polarisation, scepticism about government and democratic institutions, rising gun violence&nbsp;and increased firearms sales, along with the rampant spread of conspiracy theories and misinformation, have combined into a toxic soup.</p>

<p>A new poll published by the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics (IOP) has shown that over a &nbsp;quarter of US residents feel so estranged from their government that they feel it might “soon be necessary to take up arms” against it.</p>

<p>The survey, conducted on 1,000 registered US voters, suggests that extreme polarisation is taking place in US politics.</p>

<p>It also reveals that most Americans agree the government is “corrupt and rigged against everyday people like me”.</p>

<p>The survey comes as a congressional committee is holding public hearings on the January 6 insurrection which stemmed from the false, partisan, pro-Donald Trump belief that Joe Biden did not win the 2020 election.&nbsp;</p>

<p>GOP Trump loyalists have insisted that the committee is illegitimate although the violent insurrectionists targeted Republicans and Democrats alike.</p>

<p>Republicans, Democrats and independents were dramatically split even though 56 per cent of participants said they “generally trust elections to be conducted fairly and counted accurately”.</p>

<p>While 80 per cent of Democrats voiced overall trust in elections it dipped to 51 per cent among independents and a mere 33 per cent of Republicans.</p>

<p>Republican pollster Neil Newhouse, who conducted the survey in May with Democratic pollster Joel Benenson, issued a statement saying “While we’ve documented for years the partisan polarisation in the country, these poll results are perhaps the starkest evidence of the deep divisions in partisan attitudes rippling through the country.”</p>
