<p>TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee stated, "This collage stands as a stark reminder of the state of affairs in India over the last 15 days as the nation fights for justice against rape. The answer is clear: a stringent anti-rape law that ensures trials and convictions within 50 days, followed by immediate and harsh punishment. The shocking truth is that the conviction rate for rape cases in India is a dismal 26 per cent. This translates to only 26 convictions out of every 100 reported cases, while 74 offenders escape unpunished."</p>

<p>"If we are to deliver justice to the victims of this appalling crime, it is imperative that we demand a time-bound anti-rape law from our state and union government," he added.</p>

<p>This comes as West Bengal's Mamata Banerjee's government faces severe criticism over the delay in providing justice to the trainee doctor, who was brutally murdered and lost her life earlier this month.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Banerjee further said that anything else is futile, merely symbolic and ultimately ineffective.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He also emphasised that he and Anmol were quite young at the time, around 20 to 23 years old, with little to no experience in casting for a major commercial film, which perhaps led to us misinterpreting Malhotra’s requirements for the project.</p>

<p>Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer, Stree, was well-received by the audience in 2018. Much to their delight, the makers of the horror-comedy film also announced its sequel in April. Now, Rajkummar and Shraddha have teased fans with a picture from the sets which certainly means the shooting of the much-awaited Stree 2 has kickstarted. <h2><strong>Stree 2 will release on this day</strong></h2>

<p>Rajkummar Rao-Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2 will be released on August 31, 2024, six years after the release of its inaugural film. Apart from Rajkummar and Shraddha, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana will also be seen reprising their roles. Senior actor Pankaj Tripathi has also been to the star cast of the film. Actors like Naveen Singh, and Aakash Dabhade will mark their presence in Stree 2. The film has been written by Niren Bhatt and is being directed by Amar Kaushik.</p>

<p>On the work front, Shraddha was last seen in the superhit film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar starring Ranbir Kapoor. The actress appeared on the silver screen after 3 years and won praise for her performance in Luv Ranjan’s directorial. Apart from Stree 2, she also has Adityam in her kitty. The film is scheduled to be released on September 15, 2023. Shraddha will also feature in Chaalbaaz In London.</p>

<p>Rajkummar Rao, on the other hand, was last seen in Anubhav Sinha’s Bheed. The film didn’t do wonders on the silver screen. Apart from Stree 2, the actor is also excited about Sri. It is a biopic based on the story of visually-impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla. The film is slated to hit the theatres on September 15 this year.</p>
