Tiger T-58 found dead at Ranthambore National Park
Tiger T-58 was found dead at Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan on Sunday (Jul 7). The tiger was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a field in Hindwar, and the cause of death is still unknown.
The body of the tiger has been stored in the wildlife mortuary at Naka Rajbagh. The reason behind the death will be known after the post-mortem, which will take place on Monday (Jul 8).
Rocky (T-58) was the son of Sharmili (T-26). Sharmili is a very shy female from the Jaisinghpura area of the park. Rocky has two siblings, T-56 and T-57.
Tiger T-58 was 12 years old, and before his demise on Sunday evening, he was spotted coming out of the forest and going towards the fields of Hindwad village.
The villagers told the forest department that he hunted a buffalo on Sunday before his mysterious death. After getting information about his movement near the village, the forest department officials started to track him. Unfortunately, tiger T-58 died in front of the forest staff.

To know more about the incident WION spoke to a ranger, he said, "Movement of the tiger was seen near the village and thestaff hadseen him during the day and he died in front of the forest staff".

Currently, there are about 76 tigers at Ranthambore National Park. There are about 54 adult tigers, 12 cubs and 10 sub-adult cats (less than two years old and separated from their mothers).
