Viktor Gyokeres headed Arsenal ahead following a Declan Rice corner in the first half at Turf Moor for his first league goal since mid-September -- yet more joy for the set-piece specialists. England midfielder Rice himself headed home to double the visitors' lead in the 35th minute and put them in total control. "The first half was exceptional -- we scored two goals and gave nothing away," Arteta told the BBC. "That was the platform. We had to make a few changes and didn't have that much control in the second half. Defending was exceptional again, we didn't give anything." Arsenal, who have now won nine games in a row in all competitions, have enviable options in attack but their team is built on a rock-solid defence that has conceded just three league goals in 10 games this season. United rescue point Ruben Amorim's Manchester United, seeking their fourth straight league win, appeared set to climb to second in the table when leading 1-0 at the City Ground courtesy of Casemiro's first-half opener. But Forest, who had not scored a league goal since September 20, roared back after the break as their confidence flooded back. Morgan Gibbs-White headed the home side level in the 48th minute before Nicolo Savona tapped in just two minutes later to complete a dramatic turnaround. But Amad Diallo levelled with a sweet volley in the 81st minute to rescue a point for United, who have been much improved in recent weeks after a poor start to the season. Diallo said United were disappointed to go home with a single point after their recent winning run. "We have confidence now," he told Sky Sports. "We believe in the manager and the system. We are trying to do our best. We believe in the manager like he believes in us." Forest, who last month appointed Sean Dyche as manager to replace the sacked Ange Postecoglou, remain in the relegation zone, four points behind 17th-placed Burnley. Rock-bottom Wolves are an alarming eight points from safety after a miserable 3-0 defeat against Fulham at Craven Cottage. Ryan Sessegnon put the visitors ahead early and Wolves were reduced to 10 men when Emmanuel Agbadou was dismissed later in the first half. Harry Wilson doubled Fulham's lead in the 62nd minute and an own goal from Yerson Mosquera completed the misery for Wolves. Crystal Palace won for the first time in four league games, courtesy of a header from Jean-Philippe Mateta and an own goal from Brentford's Nathan Collins, which made it 2-0. The evergreen Danny Welbeck netted his sixth Premier League goal of the season and there were also two for Diego Gomez as Brighton pummelled Leeds 3-0. Tottenham host London rivals Chelsea in the early evening kick-off with the chance to climb to second in the table. Champions Liverpool host Aston Villa in the late kick-off, desperate to end a four-match losing streak that has derailed their title defence. Arne Slot's men were 12 points clear of Unai Emery's Villa in late September but the teams are now level on 15 points in mid-table. Bournemouth, who started Saturday second in the Premier League, travel to face Manchester City on Sunday. Juventus have given Luciano Spalletti until the end of the season in the hope that the 66-year-old can ensure qualification for next season's Champions League, with his contract running until June 30 next year.

Luciano Spalletti made his return to football on Thursday after being hired by Juventus to replace the sacked Igor Tudor. Juventus have given Spalletti until the end of the season in the hope that the 66-year-old can ensure qualification for next season's Champions League, with his contract running until June 30 next year. Should he achieve that Spalletti will be given more time to help put Juve back at the top of the pile in Italy after being surpassed by fierce rivals Inter Milan and Napoli in recent seasons. Spalletti was the man behind Napoli's historic Serie A title in 2023 and has been one of the country's most influential coaches over the past two decades, also performing way above expectations at Roma and Inter Milan. His success in Naples led to Spalletti tattooing Napoli's crest on his arm and saying he wouldn't manage another club in Italy after ending a 33-year wait for the Scudetto. But he comes back into club football -- on what would have been Diego Maradona's 65th birthday -- after a dreadful time as Italy coach, a job which was supposed to be the crowning glory of a long and eventful career. Spalletti's Italy reign ended in ignomy in June after a disastrous title defence at Euro 2024 and a thumping at the hands of Norway in the opening match of the Azzurri's 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign. Former chairman Andrea Agnelli was subsequently given two hefty bans by the Italian Football Federation and last month was handed a suspended prison sentence of 20 months after a plea bargain. Wednesday's 3-1 win over Udinese was a first victory since mid-September for Juve who sit seventh in Serie A, six points behind leaders Napoli and Roma. Spalletti's first match will be at surprise package Cremonese, who were promoted from Serie B last season but are just one point and place behind Italy's most successful club after nine matches. Manchester United are heading in the "right direction", according to sporting director Jason Wilcox as the Red Devils look to maintain an upturn in fortunes under Ruben Amorim. For the first time in the Poruguese's year-long reign, United have won three consecutive Premier League games to surge up to sixth in the table. Liverpool crashed out of the League Cup on Wednesday as Crystal Palace's 3-0 win in the fourth round added to the mounting crisis at Anfield. Ismaila Sarr struck twice in the first half and Yeremy Pino grabbed the third to condemn Arne Slot's side to a sixth defeat in their last seven games in all competitions. Slot fielded a weakened team as he prioritised Liverpool's crucial games against Aston Villa, Real Madrid and Manchester City over the next two weeks. But it was still another embarrassing result for Liverpool, coming hot on the heels of a 3-2 loss at Brentford on Saturday that further dented their spluttering Premier League title defence. Bukayo Saka believes Arsenal's strength in depth can be the difference for the Gunners this season as they look to end a wait since 2003/04 to win the Premier League. Jurrien Timber urged Arsenal "not to get too high" after they extended their lead at the top of the Premier League. On a weekend where title rivals Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea all lost, the Gunners beat Crystal Palace 1-0 to move four points clear of shock second-placed team Bournemouth.
