
There will be no clash between superstar Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan and Suriya's Kanguva. On Sunday (Sep 1), Suriya announced that he's postponing the release day of his film.
Both are among the most-anticipated South Indian movies that audiences areeagerly waiting to watch. Both movies were initially set to hit the theatreon October 10, which had been a point of discussion among industry insiders and fans. Now, Suriyahas decided to postpone his film out of respect for Rajinikanth.

Speaking at the audio launch of his brother Karthi’s Meiyazhagan, the actor said, “For over two and a half years, more than 1000 people have worked hard day and night for Kanguva just to present a special film in Tamil cinema. From Siva to the entire cast and crew, they worked so hard in testing climatic conditions for two and a half years. I have a strong belief that hard work will not go away. I’m sure you [authe way dience] will give that love and respect. When it comes, it will receive everything.”
Further, the actor said that somethings are above all, and this time he's deciding to postpone his movie to clear the way for Rajinikanth's film.
“On October 10, Vettaiyan is coming. We should give way to the film out of respect. He [Rajinikanth] is senior to me. He came to act when I was born. He has been an identity of Tamil cinema for over 50 years. I think it’s best if Superstar’s film comes out first. I believe you will be with me.”
No new release date for Kanguva has been announced yet.

Suriya is reportedly playing a double role in the movie. No official statement has been released. But, as per the poster, the actor will be playing two distinct characters. In a poster released, the actor can be seen wearing warrior gear. The other avatar shows him dressed in a former suit with a gun in hand.
The film's synopsis reads, "A warrior in 1678 dies due to a disease, in the present, a girl researches the disease which killed the warrior in 1678.''
The movie also marks Bobby Deol's Tamil debut. In the epic drama, the Animal actor is playing the role of the antagonist, Udhiran.
Directed by Siva, the period drama has been bankrolled by Studio Green in collaboration with UV Creations. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music for the film.
