Bruce Springsteen upset with Trump's win: Fighting prayer for country

Bruce Springsteen

Bruce Springsteen is majorly upset with Donald Trump’s win in the US elections. In the recently concludedpollsin which Donald Trump and Kamala Harris competed for the top presidential post, most Hollywood celebrities including actors, singers and directors were supporting Harris.

As Trump defeated Kamala Harris, Bruce Springsteen appeared disappointed. In his recent concert, after the election results came out, he gave a subtle reaction to Trump’s victory. As he started the show late, he changed the subject and said, “This is a fighting prayer for my country,” and launched into “Long Walk Home,” another song he rarely chooses to open a show.

The song is from his 2007 album Magic. It is about a hometown, a woman, family, freedom, and summer. The lyrics go like this:

“My father said, ‘Son, we’re lucky in this town

It’s a beautiful place to be born

It just wraps its arms around you

Nobody crowds you, nobody goes it alone.

You know that flag flying over the courthouse

Means certain things are set in stone

Who we are, what we’ll do and what we won’t.’”

How set in stone those certain things will remain over the next four years is an open question.

Bruce Springsteen was an ardent supporter of Kamala Harris

Bruce was all out with his support for Kamala. He even filmed a three-minute video last month supporting her. Also, at a Harris rally in Atlanta, he called Donald Trump a “tyrant”.
