"Not sure why I was blocked. But, I did engage with a lot of fans on the social media side for SRH. I did feel it was my duty to engage with the fans, making sure they keep coming back. That's what is most important. But from the blocking point of view, I don't know. I have been sitting on it for about five&nbsp;years. It was bizarre. At the end of the day, I still got fans who come onto my page and talk to everyone. So it's great," he added.

Warner joined a struggling SRH side in 2014 and quickly went on to become a mainstay in the batting unit. (Heinrich) Klaasen and Abhishek hit sixes on good balls. But I believed in my skills, and I also got wickets that day. Now I enjoy my bowling more and I have learned all this from experience."

He dominates the batters mentally. All these things become very important," he added.

Indian cricket team's official kit sponsor, Adidas, on Monday (May 6) unveiled the senior men's jersey for the upcoming T20 World Cup, scheduled to take place in the West Indies and USA in June. The Indian team will don the kit for the tournament, hoping to end their trophy drought in the ICC tournaments.&nbsp;

The sportswear giant released the unveiling video, featuring Indian captain Rohit Sharma, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav. The video shot at the HPCA Stadium in Himachal Pradesh shows a giant-sized replica of the Indian jersey flying in the backdrop of the picturesque Himalayas.&nbsp;

The new kit is starkly different from the 2021 World Cup kit which had a dark blue hue with orange highlights only featuring on the collar. Adidas has gone with a combination of traditional blue at the front, and orange features on the shoulders with Adidas stripes on it.&nbsp;However, the jersey has only one star instead of the three usually seen on India's limited-overs jerseys.&nbsp;

The stars in the jersey usually represent the number of World Cups a team has won. Since India has won only one T20 World Cup in its history, during the inaugural 2007 edition, the team is sporting a lone star, above the BCCI badge on the left side of the jersey.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Similarly for the ODI World Cup, the Men in Blue have two stars to mark India's 1983 and 2011 ODI World Cup wins.&nbsp;

Here’s why India’s T20 World Cup jersey unveiled by Adidas has only one star

Pacer Josh Hazlewood believes there was no place to fit power-hitter Jake Fraser-McGurk in the Australia T20 World Cup squad as it would have meant tinkering with the already-settled top order.&nbsp;Fraser-McGurk was given the raw end of the deal by Australian selectors who did not name him in the 15-member provisional squad, announced last week.&nbsp;

Fraser-McGurk has scored 259 runs in the first six innings of the IPL 2024, at an average of 43.16 and a strike rate of 158.56, with three half-centuries to his name. Many had anticipated that the batter would be an automatic choice for the Australian squad for the World Cup but the selectors managed to spring a surprise.&nbsp;

"Where do you fit him in? It's so tough to fit into that top order with what we've got there with experience with Travis [Head], Mitch [Marsh] and Davey [Warner] in the top three, and then the middle order's pretty good as well," said Hazlewood.&nbsp;

"He'll definitely get his time. He's only young. He'll be in the team sooner rather than later, I think," added Hazlewood.&nbsp;

Prior to the squad announcement, former Australian cricketers such as Mark Waugh and Michael Clarke batted extensively for Fraser-McGurk to be included in the 15.&nbsp;

He&nbsp;further opined, “Shardul Thakur came ahead of him. Thakur can never hit shots like Dhoni and I don't understand why Dhoni made this mistake. Nothing happens without his permission and I am not ready to accept that this decision to demote him was taken by someone else."

“CSK were in a need of quick runs and Dhoni has done that in the previous games. It was shocking that he stayed back in the important contest against Punjab Kings. Even if CSK win today, I will still call out Dhoni. Let people say anything. I will say what is right,” Harbhajan added.

Meanwhile, Chennai captain Ruturaj reflected on his side's first-ever win over Punjab in the last six meetings and said at the post-match presentation, "Everyone believed the wicket was slow. Even low bounce. Just that the start we got, we were thinking of pushing till 180-200. After losing wickets, thought 160-170 was a good score. Don't know what he's doing, but even in pre-season he was clocking 150kph (on Simarjeet). He didn't get too many chances, but it's never too late. Harshal, however, did not celebrate the wicket and said after the innings: "I have too much respect for him to celebrate when I get him out."

Earlier, CSK were asked to bat first after losing the toss and were put in trouble by PBKS bowlers early on. CSK's Ajinkya Rahane continued to have a lean season as he got out for 9 off 7 in the second over.

Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad and Daryll Mitchell then added 57 runs for the second wicket before Rahul Chahar dismissed Gaikwad (32) and Shivam Dube off consecutive balls in the eighth over. Mitchell too departed in the next over as CSK suddenly were down 75/4 from 69/1.

Fans had a field day trolling the Pakistan men's cricket team after their newly appointed white-ball head coach, Gary Kirsten, held the first meeting with the players via video conferencing. A third added: "There was a man called MICKEY ARTHUR who was the ONLINE ZOOM coach of Pakistan Cricket. That was the ruining moment of Pakistan Cricket. Hopefully Gary Kirsten will join the team soon. Most likely in ENG series."

After being appointed the white-ball head coach, Kirsten&nbsp;revealed his ultimate goal was to unite the otherwise fragmented Pakistan team.&nbsp;

"It's a tremendous honour to be entrusted with the responsibility of coaching the Pakistan men's national team in white-ball cricket and to rejoin the international cricket arena after some time. I eagerly anticipate this opportunity and aim to contribute positively to the Pakistan men's national team in limited-overs cricket," said Kirsten.&nbsp;

"My goal is to unite Pakistan men's white-ball team, harnessing their talents towards a common objective," he added.&nbsp;

Under Kirsten, Pakistan will be eager to take giant strides in&nbsp;limited-overs format. They had a miserable run in the 2023 ODI World Cup, in India, where they failed to make it beyond the group stage of the tournament.&nbsp;

The South African's first major assignment will be the 2024 T20 World Cup, where one-time winners Pakistan is in Group A along with India, Canada, USA and Ireland.

Kirsten won the 50-over World Cup with India in 2011, while managing a roster full of stars. His big challenge with Pakistan, however, remains managing the fragile egos within the team and the upper PCB hierarchy.&nbsp;

The five-time champions have endured an inconsistent season but Pathirana has been one of the few bright spots - often bailing out the team from dire situations.&nbsp;The right-arm pacer played six matches in IPL 2024 picking up 13 wickets at an economy rate&nbsp;of 7.68.

"Chennai Super Kings pacer Matheesha Pathirana is nursing a hamstring injury and will be returning to Sri Lanka for further recovery," the franchise informed.

Though CSK are placed 4th in the IPL 2024 points table, with five&nbsp;wins in 10 games, the final run of four&nbsp;games could be tricky for them without the support of some of the star players.

The franchise didn't inform if Pathirana will be returning for the playoffs, which start on May 21 with the first qualifier between the top two teams, scheduled at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.&nbsp;

Mayank had set the IPL ablaze with his raw pace, taking six wickets in the first two games, against Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He sent most of his deliveries north of 155-kmph mark - a rarity anywhere in the world. He also became the first to win Player of the Match awards in his first two IPL games.

The 21-year-old, however, hit a setback after that and missed the next five games due to pain in abdomen.

Speaking on his chances to play, Langer said: "We'll be praying that he can play, hopefully, in the playoffs, but I'm a realist as well. It'll be probably difficult for him to get up for the back-end of the tournament."

As for LSG, they are currently placed third on the 10-team points table with six wins from the 10 games they have played. Out of the remaining four games, they play against KKR at home before three away games against SRH, DC and MI.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) bowling coach Sunil Joshi has confirmed that captain Shikhar Dhawan will miss the side’s Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) contest against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday as he continues his rehab. Dhawan has not played for PBKS since his side’s narrow defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 9 and continues to struggle with a shoulder injury. Cricket South Africa announces schedule for 2024-25 season; to host Sri Lanka and Pakistan

India have lost their top position in the latest men's Test team rankings, issued by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday (May 3). Australia,&nbsp;the reigning World Test champions, usurped the top spot from India who retained their numero uno ranking in ODI&nbsp;and T20Is.&nbsp;

Led by Pat Cummins, Australia beat India in the WTC final at Lord's last year, winning their first ICC silverware in the format. The win helped Australia (124) gain&nbsp;four points over India (120) while remaining 19 points clear of third-placed England (105).

India mainly slipped in the rankings as their 2-1 series win in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia was chalked out of consideration.&nbsp;

Notably, the latest rankings have been formulated by the ICC with respect to the closing of the previous WTC cycle in May 2021. Match results from May 2021 to May 2023 have 50 per cent weightage while results post May 2023 have 100 per cent weightage.&nbsp;

Only nine teams are now ranked as Afghanistan and Ireland are yet to play sufficient Tests, while Zimbabwe too is out as it has played only three Tests over the past three years.

Latest ICC rankings: Australia topple India to usurp top spot in Tests

Former Indian chief selector Kris Srikkanth has lashed out at the Ajit Agarkar-led BCCI selection committee for picking out-of-form Shubman Gill over Ruturaj Gaikwad in India's 15-man T20 World Cup squad. On Tuesday (April 30), the BCCI announced India's squad which features Rohit Sharma as the captain along with regulars such as Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, etc.

Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson were also named in the main squad with Gill, Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed and Rinku Singh part of&nbsp;the reserves list. This has not been well received by Srikkanth -- India's 1983 World Cup-winning member -- as he feels Gill is completely out of form in the ongoing IPL 2024 edition, contrary to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Gaikwad.

So far, Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Gill has 320 runs in 10 games at an average of&nbsp;35.56. Meanwhile, Gaikwad is the top run-getter with 509 runs -- at 63.63 and a strike-rate of&nbsp;146.68 with 4 fifties and a hundred. Thus, Srikkanth feels it wasn't fair to overlook the CSK captain's purple patch and claimed that&nbsp;selection is 'all about favouritism'.

Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel 'Cheeky Chekka', "Shubman Gill is totally out of form, but why he's selected in the team. There's no doubt that Ruturaj Gaikwad deserves a place. He scored more than 500 runs in 17 innings. Also he scored a century against Australia. Shubman Gill is selectors' delight. He gets chance even if he fails. He finds place even if he fails in Test, ODIs and T20s.There's too much of favoritism in selection. The team selection is all about favouritism."

Srikkanth even slammed the selectors for not including Rinku in the main squad, despite a strike-rate of 176.23 in 15 T20Is.&nbsp;

In this regard, he added, "I am not at all happy. C'mon all of you. Rinku Singh has been spoken about all over the world. He has performed in each and every opportunity he has got. How can you drop Rinku Singh? You drop anyone else, it doesn't matter. In my view, Rinku Singh should have been there, even if that meant you had to drop Yashasvi Jaiswal."

India are in Group A along with arch-rivals Pakistan, Ireland, USA and Canada and begin their campaign versus Ireland on June 5, in New York.

Former Indian chief selector Kris Srikkanth has lashed out at the Ajit Agarkar-led BCCI selection committee for picking out-of-form Shubman Gill over Ruturaj Gaikwad in India's 15-man T20 World Cup squad. On Tuesday (April 30), the BCCI announced India's squad which features Rohit Sharma as the captain along with regulars such as Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, etc. Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson were also named in the main squad with Gill, Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed and Rinku Singh part of the reserves list. This has not been well received by Srikkanth -- India's 1983 World Cup-winning member -- as he feels Gill is completely out of form in the ongoing IPL 2024 edition, contrary to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Gaikwad. So far, Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Gill has 320 runs in 10 games at an average of 35.56. Meanwhile, Gaikwad is the top run-getter with 509 runs -- at 63.63 and a strike-rate of 146.68 with 4 fifties and a hundred. Thus, Srikkanth feels it wasn't fair to overlook the CSK captain's purple patch and claimed that selection is 'all about favouritism'. 'Gill is selectors' delight, team selection is all about favouritism' Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel 'Cheeky Chekka', "Shubman Gill is totally out of form, but why he's selected in the team. There's no doubt that Ruturaj Gaikwad deserves a place. He scored more than 500 runs in 17 innings. Also he scored a century against Australia. Shubman Gill is selectors' delight. He gets chance even if he fails. He finds place even if he fails in Test, ODIs and T20s.There's too much of favoritism in selection. The team selection is all about favouritism." In this regard, he added, "I am not at all happy. C'mon all of you. Rinku Singh has been spoken about all over the world. He has performed in each and every opportunity he has got. How can you drop Rinku Singh? You drop anyone else, it doesn't matter. In my view, Rinku Singh should have been there, even if that meant you had to drop Yashasvi Jaiswal." India are in Group A along with arch-rivals Pakistan, Ireland, USA and Canada and begin their campaign versus Ireland on June 5, in New York.
