By the end of the decade, a national hosepipe ban and mandatory water measuring should be adopted throughout the United Kingdom, a message advisers have provided to the government as they prepare for a drought that threatens to cause significant disruption. In future, people will have to stand in lines to buy emergency bottled water from the back of lorries.&nbsp;The National Infrastructure Committee (NIC) forewarned the government four years ago that significant new investments in the country’s water supply infrastructure would be necessary by the 2030s. However, water companies made several changes, but every day, around 3 billion litres of water are still lost, The Guardian reported.

According to the chair of the committee, Sir John Armitt, in conversation with the Observer, plugging these leaks will cost somewhere around £20 billion. He continued by saying that if investments are not made now, it will cost more than twice as much to deliver bottled water to UK homes by a lorry when droughts hit the country more frequently.

Kanthamaneni Uma Maheshwari, daughter of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her upscale Jubilee Hills home on Monday (July 31). According to the World Health Assembly, there should be a 50 per cent increase in the rate of exclusive breastfeeding worldwide by 2025.

Iranian border guards clashed Sunday with the Afghan Taliban, Iranian media reported, the latest cross-border exchange since the former insurgents seized power in neighbouring Afghanistan a year ago.

The official IRNA news agency quoted Meisam Barazandeh, governor of the border country of Hirmand in eastern Iran, as saying that the incident is under investigation. He did not provide details about the clash or report any casualties.

There was no immediate comment from the Taliban.

Iran's semiofficial Tasnim news agency, which is close to Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard, said the Taliban opened fire on houses on the eastern edge of the county, in the area of Shoqalak, across the border from Afghanistan's Nimruz province.

The report also said that Taliban forces tried to raise the Taliban flag in an area that is not part of the territory of Afghanistan and that after the exchange, calm returned.

Tasnim later quoted Majid Mirahmadi, the country's deputy interior minister, as saying the Taliban first opened fire on Iranian guards, forcing them to return fire until the exchange subsided when the Iranian guards brought the situation under control.

The exchange lasted for an hour and a half and ended early on Sunday afternoon.

Mirahmadi said a similar clash took place on Saturday because the Taliban do not respect the "geographical and official border" between the two countries.

Clashes have repeatedly erupted between Iranian security forces and Afghan Taliban forces at&nbsp;various spots along the border since the Taliban takeover in Afghanistan last August. The exchanges of fire are often over local issues such as disputes over farmland, water or smuggling, and usually end quickly.

In some of the worst clashes, last December, the Afghan Taliban seized several checkpoints on the Iranian side but soon withdrew, and both sides called the incident a 'misunderstanding.'

In this, some people may have become addicted to the high concentrations of refined carbohydrates and fats present in processed meals like pizza, chocolate, and fries. Up to 1 in 5 people appears to be affected by this clinically serious addiction to highly processed foods, which is characterised by a loss of control over the consumption or intense cravings and an unwillingness to cut back despite some unpleasant effects, ANI reported.

Researchers from University of Michigan were interested in determining whether a parent’s alcoholism is a significant risk factor for addiction, also to indicate a high chance of addiction to processed foods. The lead author of the study, Lindzey Hoover, said, "People who have a family history of addiction may be at greater risk for developing a problematic relationship with highly processed foods, which is really challenging in a food environment where these foods are cheap, accessible, and heavily marketed."
