Stuart Broad believes that more content with respect to the 2018 sandpaper gate scandal will be revealed when David Warner, Steve Smith, and Cameron Bancroft retire from international cricket. The ball-tampering scandal including the three Australian cricketers came into the spotlight again&nbsp;after Bancroft recently hinted that Aussie bowlers were aware of the plot.

Cricket Australia's Integrity Team has contacted Cameron Bancroft to check whether he has new information to give on the issue.

Talking about the entire incident, Broad said that on the off chance in which he misses a seam by four millimeters, his pace bowling partner James Anderson rushes to tell him that he is missing the seam, proposing that bowlers in the team are very much aware of the state of the ball and need to look after it.

"I've obviously never bowled within the Australian bowling attack but I can talk about how, in an England Test team, if I miss the seam by four millimeters, Jimmy Anderson is on me. Broad clarified that reverse swing with the red ball can be influenced by various elements and everybody in the team plays a part in keeping it fit as a fiddle.&nbsp;

“If you chase it to the boundary and throw it into the grass it can smooth the ball over and stop it reversing. If you touch the ball with wet hands it will stop it from reversing. If you shine it in a way that smooths over the rough side it will stop it from reversing. So as an England team, we are aware if we're trying to get the ball reversing every player has to buy into that or it will stop it," the veteran English pacer said.

The English seamer didn't say that this controversy will be in concentration during the Ashes but indicated that the fan group&nbsp;Barmy Army may have a thing to two to say about it.&nbsp;

We need to get this resolved once and for all to give him the best chance of being fully fit as we build up to an intense winter, which will include a T20 World Cup and the Ashes. We need him firing in all formats of the game.

“Ben Stokes is making excellent progress following his fractured left index finger sustained last month in the Indian Premier League. If he continues to improve without any impact on his rehabilitation, we could see him return next month for Durham in the Vitality Blast competition. We will assess him again towards the end of this month.

“As for the players who have just come out of quarantine after the cancelled IPL, we felt it necessary for them to have an extended break. We need them to recharge mentally. We will then take a view when they return to cricket. It will mean that they will get some competitive matches with their respective counties either in the&nbsp;County Championship or the Vitality Blast next month. We will work closely with each individual on when they are likely to play again.

“This is the start of our international summer and an exceptionally long winter, so we are mindful that we need the players ready both physically and mentally. Understanding players needs are paramount in our planning and something that will continually develop across the year leading into the World Cup and Ashes campaigns.”

Cricket: Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer miss out as England announce squad for Test Series against New Zealand

Tottenham Hotspur icon Harry Kane has not mentioned anything about wishing to leave the Premier League side, said caretaker manager Ryan Mason on Tuesday.

Mason was responding to questions over media reports on Monday that Kane's patience had finally broken at the lack of silverware and he wanted to move to a more competitive club.

The England captain reportedly wants his future resolved before the delayed Euro 2020 starts on June 11.

Kane's contract with Tottenham has another three years to run and chairman Daniel Levy is known to be a tough negotiator, which could ruin the 27-year-old's hopes of a quick resolution.

Mason was adamant at his press conference on the eve of their penultimate league game with Aston Villa that the topic had not been raised by Kane.

Kane and Mason go back a long way having been team-mates at Spurs till 2016 when the latter left.&nbsp;

"No, not that I'm aware of," said Mason when questioned whether Kane has asked to leave.

"All of my conversations with Harry have been about the game. All these conversations, I am not so sure. I don't know.

"I speak to Harry pretty much every day.

"He's excited along with me about (Wednesday's game against Aston Villa). Our only discussions have been about the game tomorrow. We're looking forward to tomorrow."

Mason confirmed that Kane, who is in contention for a third Premier League Golden Boot, will start against Villa on Wednesday in front of 10,000 home fans.

"He starts tomorrow because he is our best striker and he is one of the best strikers in the world," Mason said.

"I have been consistent, I am here for the next two games and that is my main focus in preparing a football team and winning a game of football.

"Hopefully we can do that and Harry can get on the scoresheet.

"They'll love seeing him play. He loves the club, he's been here from a very young age, come through the system.

"I'm sure the fans are excited to see Harry play."

Premier League champions Manchester City, Manchester United and Champions League finalists Chelsea have all been mooted as likely suitors for Kane, who has scored 32 goals in all competitions this term.

Paris Saint-Germain, managed by Kane's former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, and Spanish giants Real Madrid have also been linked with the striker.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson will leave the club at the end of the season after deciding to step down from top-flight&nbsp;football, the 73-year-old confirmed on Wednesday.

The much-traveled Hodgson joined Palace in September 2017 and has kept them in the Premier League for four seasons in a row. His assistant, Ray Lewington, is also leaving, Palace said.

Hodgson's final game in charge will be against Liverpool, one of his former clubs, at Anfield on Sunday.

"It's been a particularly rewarding period of my&nbsp;football&nbsp;life and career to have been able to spend these last four seasons with Palace.

"I feel now that at the end of another successful season, in which we have secured our Premier League status, the moment is right for me to step down from my responsibilities of being a full-time manager."

Hodgson's coaching career began in 1976 in Sweden and he went on to manage the likes of Inter Milan, Malmo, Blackburn Rovers, Liverpool, West Bromwich Albion, Fulham, the Swiss national team, and England.
