The discovery was made by Allen Exploration along with a team of marine archaeologists and divers from both Bahamas and United States. The mission was also supported by the Bahamian government who will be displaying the find in the Bahamas Maritime Museum in Freeport.

“When we brought up the oval emerald and gold pendant, my breath caught in my throat. I feel a greater connection with everyday finds than coins and jewels, but these Santiago finds bridge both worlds. The pendant mesmerises me when I hold it and think about its history. How these tiny pendants survived in these harsh waters, and how we managed to find them, is the miracle of the Maravillas,” Carl Allen, founder of Allen Exploration, told The Guardian regarding the find.

“The wreck of the galleon had a tough history – heavily salvaged by Spanish, English, French, Dutch, Bahamian and American expeditions in the 17th and 18th centuries and blitzed by salvors from the 1970s to early 1990s. Some say the remains were ground to dust. Using modern technology and hard science, we’re now tracking a long and winding debris trail of finds,” he added.

Our targets are exclusively the military facilities of the Russian Federation. We do not strike on the territory of the Russian Federation. The discovery of almost “perfectly aligned” holes at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean has left a lot of scientists puzzled. The crew of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Okeanos Explorer vessel found the holes during their investigation of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge around 2.6 kilometres beneath the ocean surface. According to the accounts, the holes appeared in regular intervals over a considerable amount of distance, but no experts was able to explain their source.

"These holes have been previously reported from the region, but their origin remains a mystery," the NOAA researchers wrote on Facebook. "While they look almost human made, the little piles of sediment around the holes make them seem like they were excavated by... something."

The investigation was part of the “Voyage to the Ridge 2022 expedition” which is targeted towards mapping the “coral reefs and sponge habitats” present in this part of the Atlantic Ocean.

Similar holes were found at the ocean floor in 2004 by two marine scientists from the United States National Marine Fisheries Service during a diving inspection conducted in the area.

Elon Musk files countersuit against Twitter over $44 billion takeover deal

The bottom of the sea is home to a huge number of species, but new research shows that there may be many more kind of marine creatures who are yet to be discovered. A new study, conducted by Natural History Museum of the United Kingdom, says that scientists have found around 30 new species who reside at the bottom of the ocean. The findings were published in the journal Zookeys and it states that the scientists found 48 different species during the course of their research.

&nbsp;According to The Guardian, the species found by the scientists included animals from the same families as centipedes as well as jellyfish, segmented worms and a variety of different corals.

“This research is important not only due to the number of potentially new species discovered, but because these megafauna specimens have previously only been studied from seabed images. Without the specimens and the DNA data they hold, we cannot properly identify the animals and understand how many different species there are,” Dr Guadalupe Bribiesca-Contreras, lead author of the study and researcher at the Natural History Museum, told The Guardian.

The implications of this finding are quite far-reaching as it can limit the amount of sea mining being conducted at present. A number of companies are looking to extract minerals from the seabed but that can stop if authorities believe that the processes are detrimental for the new-found species.

The other fascinating part about the research was the use of a remote operated vehicle for the collection of data and it was also able to navigate the entire area without any major issues.

A new study, conducted by Natural History Museum of the United Kingdom, says that scientists have found around 30 new species who reside at the bottom of the ocean. The findings were published in the journal Zookeys and it states that the scientists found 48 different species during the course of their research. Without the specimens and the DNA data they hold, we cannot properly identify the animals and understand how many different species there are,” Dr Guadalupe Bribiesca-Contreras, lead author of the study and researcher at the Natural History Museum, told The Guardian. A number of companies are looking to extract minerals from the seabed but that can stop if authorities believe that the processes are detrimental for the new-found species. Long covid is the name given to the scenario where an individual keeps experiencing symptoms for more than four weeks after the initial infection, according to the World Health Organisation.

The research, which was conducted by Institute for Fiscal Studies, also said that one in 10 people suffering from long Covid had to lose out on significant earnings due to the long leaves.

“The impact of long Covid has continued to grow over time, with almost 2 million now suffering from the condition,” Tom Wernham, a research economist at the IFS, told Bloomberg.

“For a significant minority of long Covid sufferers, the condition has severe effects not only on their health but on their ability to do paid work,” he further explained in the research report.

Singapore has permitted former Sri Lankan president Gotabaya Rajapaksa to stay in the island republic for an additional 14 days, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters on Wednesday.

A short-term visit pass issued when Rajapaksa arrived on a private visit two weeks ago has been extended, two separate sources in Colombo and Singapore, both with knowledge of the matter, told Reuters.

Rajapaksa is now able to stay in Singapore until August 11.
