Netherlands health minister Bruno Bruins advised the country to go "one step further" in preparing for a large-scale outbreak while health officials in Norway have drawn up contingency plans for a scenario under which 25 per cent of Norway's population could be infected.

In Poland, the parliament has passed legislation giving the government emergency powers to fight the virus with the Latvian government keeping up to hundred beds reserved for potential coronavirus patients as Europe braced for further spread of the virus.

The virus has now reached at least 81 countries with South Korea, Iran and Italy emerging as "hotspots" outside China. &nbsp;

According to the latest update, over 90,000 people have been infected and around 3,200 have died worldwide from the virus.

As the virus continued to spread, Italy said it could close all schools and universities for two weeks across the country even as Iranian authorities asked citizens to refrain from travelling and going to events.

It shows that the disease impacts people above 50 years of age much more than other age groups. According to reports, India's defence research and developmental organisation(DRDO) has said that an industrial autoclave seized from a Pakistan-bound Chinese ship, can be used in the manufacture of very long-range ballistic missiles or satellite launch rockets.
