Beijing had ordered a virtual clampdown for the past two months on anyone visiting the country with the coronavirus spreading like wildfire in the country, however, with the virus now reportedly abating and Wuhan which was believed to be the origin of the virus opening up slowly, Chinese authorities have decided to loosen restrictions.

China is now in talks with Singapore and South Korea to set up "fast track" for businesspeople to travel between the countries.

"The purpose is to stabilise important economic and trade cooperation... and to ensure the safe and smooth operation of international industrial and supply chains," foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said, adding, "Beijing has reached a consensus with Seoul on the fast-track channel and both sides are working to implement the plan.

China had recently lifted restriction in Hubei province which was the epicenter of the virus. The virus has killed over 171,255 people worldwide since it was first reported in Wuhan on December 31 last year.&nbsp;

There are 2,495,994 cases of the virus worldwide with the United States the worst-hit with 787,960 cases and over 35,000 deaths. In simpler words, doctor Tedros "politicized" the COVID-19 pandemic and he still is and when he is asked questions about his politics all we get are cryptic one-word answers in response words that sound too rich coming from him.

Now, Tedros 'politicises' COVID-19 pandemic on social media

After US President Trump raised doubts over China's response to the <a href="https://www.wionews.com/world/iran-death-toll-from-new-coronavirus-outbreak-rises-by-91-to-5209-health-ministry-official-293608">coronavirus</a> pandemic, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the "more transparent China is on&nbsp;the virus, the better for all".

"There was a time when the situation in Kerala could have gone out of hand but with proper contact tracing, we were able to contain and overcome it," chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.

"The mortality rate in the world is 5.75, it is 2.83 in India and 0.58 in Kerala. We are carrying out testing aggressively," the Kerala CM added.

Meanwhile, one new coronavirus case was reported in Bokaro, taking the total number of cases in the state to 42.

In Karnataka, the number of coronavirus cases rose to 408 with 18 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, the state health department said.

West Bengal reported 54 more coronavirus cases with Maharashtra reporting 283 more COVID-19 cases, taking total positive cases in the state to 4,483. There were 187 new cases reported in Mumbai today.
