6 Health Benefits of Drinking Lemon Water

Lemon has been commonly used in Indian traditional medicine for its valuable nutritional and pharmaceutical properties. Lemon water is consumed by many for its benefits.

Lemon water stimulates the digestive system to make digestive juices, bile and acids that break down food.

Lemon water contains a primary antioxidant that helps protect body cells from damaging free radicals.

Lemons contain a type of fibre called pectin, which helps reduce appetite and calorie intake.

Drinking lemon water is better than taking sugar-sweetened beverages like soda or energy drinks that mostly contain added sugars.

Lemon water helps rejuvenate the skin by keeping away infections and odours. Lemon slices or juice may be scrubbed on the skin to remove dead cells.

Lemon water helps prevent painful stones in those with low urinary citrate excretion.

ISRO's Upcoming Missions: Aditya-L1 and Gaganyaan

The successful landing of India’s third lunar spacecraft, Chandrayaan-3 on August 23, is only the beginning of India’s ambitious space missions.

Repeating the words of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) head, S Somanath, said on Wednesday that the “golden era” of India’s space programme has only begun.

ISRO chief Somanath said that while the focus of the space agency over the last few months has been to ensure the success of Chandrayaan-3, ISRO is also working on some other big-ticket projects that are lined up for the coming months.

Aditya-L1 is India’s first dedicated scientific mission to study the sun. "After Chandrayaan-3, we will immediately be taking up the Aditya-L1 project, which is our sun mission...It has already been integrated and has been moved to Sriharikota," said the ISRO chief.

Gaganyaan project envisages a demonstration of human spaceflight capability by launching a crew of 3 members to an orbit of 400 km for a 3-day mission and bringing them back safely to earth by landing in Indian sea waters.

ISRO and JAXA are also working on a joint Lunar Polar Exploration mission called LUPEX. Under the LUPEX mission, a Japanese rocket would carry an Indian lander and a Japanese rover to the Moon.

<p>After Chandrayaan-3’s successful landing on the moon, all eyes are now on Japan’s moon mission, slated to be launched on August 27. The Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) is gearing up for the launch of their ambitious moon mission, called Smart Lander for Investigating Moon (SLIM) mission.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to media reports, the lander is scheduled to launch as a "ride-share" payload with the XRISM mission on an H2A booster from the Tanegashima Space Center in Japan at 9:30 am JST (6:00 am IST). The XRISM stands for X-ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission and is a collaborative mission of JAXA and NASA.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The mission is different from India’s Chandrayaan-3 but will help future moon missions like Chandrayaan.&nbsp;</p>

<p>SLIM is a small-scale exploration lander designed for pinpoint landings on the moon’s surface, reduction in the size and weight of equipment used in moon landings, and investigation into the moon’s origins. It will also test technology fundamental to exploration in low-gravity environments, an important requirement for future scientific investigation of the solar system.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>SLIM mission objectives:</strong></p>

<p>1. Demonstration of the accurate lunar landing techniques embodied in a small explorer</p>

<p>2. Acceleration of the study of the moon and other planets using the lighter exploration system</p>

<h2><strong>Why Japan’s moon mission is important for space exploration?</strong></h2>

<p>If Japan’s moon mission is able to achieve its objectives, it can help humans make a quantitative shift towards being able to land where we want and not just where it is easy to land. By achieving this, it will become possible to land on planets even more resource-scarce than the moon.</p>

<p>Furthermore, JAXA also said that this mission will help in solar science exploration that demands a high level of navigation accuracy and precision landing.&nbsp;</p>

<p>SLIM's spacecraft consists of a landing radar for navigation or any obstacle detection. It also includes a multiband camera and laser retro-reflector array which will conduct specific tasks for safe landing.</p>

SLIM is a small-scale exploration lander designed for pinpoint landings on the moon’s surface, reduction in the size and weight of equipment used in moon landings, and investigation into the moon’s origins. It will also test technology fundamental to exploration in low-gravity environments, an important requirement for future scientific investigation of the solar system. Demonstration of the accurate lunar landing techniques embodied in a small explorer 2. Acceleration of the study of the moon and other planets using the lighter exploration system Why Japan’s moon mission is important for space exploration? If Japan’s moon mission is able to achieve its objectives, it can help humans make a quantitative shift towards being able to land where we want and not just where it is easy to land. By achieving this, it will become possible to land on planets even more resource-scarce than the moon. SLIM's spacecraft consists of a landing radar for navigation or any obstacle detection. It also includes a multiband camera and laser retro-reflector array which will conduct specific tasks for safe landing. Japan set to launch its moon mission. Here's how it is different from India's Chandrayaan-3

<p>UK-based news presenter Patrick Christys apparently congratulated India on the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3, followed by some cheap mockery inspired by colonial hangover. His subsequent comments on India didn’t go down well with netizens: he demanded India return the £2.3 billion of foreign aid that was provided by Britain.</p>

<p>He said, “I would like to congratulate India for landing on the dark side of the Moon. I would also like to now invite India to return the £2.3 billion of foreign aid money that we sent them between 2016 and 2021. We are also set to give them £57 million pounds next year and I think the British taxpayer should keep hold of that, don’t you?”</p>

<p>"We should not be giving money to countries with a space programme. As a rule, if you can afford to fire a rocket to the dark side of the Moon, you shouldn’t be coming to us with your hand out."</p>

<h2><strong>Netizens slam British&nbsp;journalist</strong>&nbsp;for his ill-informed remarks</h2>

<p>As soon as the clip of his remarks went viral, netizens slammed him, with some demanding that Britain return&nbsp;the Kohinoor which was taken from India during British rule. The clip also had comments from netizens commenting how during the British rule in India, millions of pounds were looted by the British rulers.</p>

Asia Cup 2023: Just five days to go. Take a look at all the squads here

<p>Former President Donald Trump became the first US President, former or sitting, in the history of the country to have a mug shot taken. On August 24, he turned himself in to Georgia authorities after facing 13 felony charges by a Fulton County grand jury. His mugshot was taken while being booked at an Atlanta jail for allegedly trying to reverse the 2020 election results in Georgia.</p>

<p>Soon after his mug shot was released, it went viral on social media X (formerly Twitter), with over 25 thousand tweets. The #TrumpMugShot is still going strong on X. Even before Trump’s actual mug shot was released, people started creating his mug shot, starting a meme fest on X.</p>

Chandrayaan-3: What will happen in next 14 days?

Chandrayaan-3 landed on the Moon's south pole successfully on August 23. With this, India became the first nation to soft-land on the Far Side of the Moon.

After the landing, world leaders congratulated India and the Indian space agency for this huge achievement. Indian PM Narendra Modi termed the achievement a gift for humankind and science.

Chandrayaan-3's Pragyan rover also touched down on the lunar surface on August 24. Sharing the mission update on X (formerly Twitter), ISRO wrote, “The Ch-3 Rover ramped down from the Lander and India took a walk on the moon !"

What will the Pragyan rover do on Moon's surface?

The Pragyan rover will now carry out a series of experiments on the Moon's surface. The rover will send data to the lander which will send it to Earth.

The mission has already completed two of its objectives - a soft landing on the Moon and placing the rover on the Moon. The rover will stay on the lunar surface for 1 Lunar day or 14 Earth days to conduct in-situ experiments.

What will happen to Chandrayaan-3 after 14 days?

While Vikram and Pragyan have a planned mission life of 1 lunar day (14 days on Earth), there is a possibility that the duo could live longer. If the lander and rover survive the lunar night, it is possible that they will revive.

History created. Chandryaan-3 landed successfully on the moon’s south pole on August 23. The Lander Module (LM) of the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) third lunar mission Chandrayaan-3, launched on July 14, successfully landed on the Moon on August 23.

This was performed the day after the lander module separated from the propulsion module after a 34-day-long journey toward the Moon. On August 20, the ISRO performed the second and final deebost of the Lander Module to reduce the Lander Module to 25 km x 134 km. Lander health to be assessed, rover to come out, says ISRO chief "The most difficult parts were the launch, landing and capture by the orbit of the Moon, the launch of the lander to descent and the final landing.
