<p>A two-year-old boy in the United States accidentally shot his pregnant mother on Friday, killing her as well as her unborn baby, said police.</p>

<p>According to the Norwalk Police Department as well as local media reports, police received a call at around 1:11 pm&nbsp;that day from a residence in Norwalk, Ohio. The woman, who was later identified as 31-year-old Laura Ilg, informed the dispatchers that she was shot in her back accidentally by her toddler after he got hold of the gun, as reported by Cleveland 19 News.</p>

<p>The police officers immediately rushed the woman to nearby Fisher-Titus Medical Center where she had to go through an emergency C-section.&nbsp;However, the doctors failed to save the 33-week unborn baby, Police Chief Dave Smith informed the local media outlets on Tuesday. He added that the baby boy, if alive, would have been the second child of Ilg, adding that she also succumbed to her injuries three hours later at around 5 pm on Friday.</p>

<p>After the gun was accidentally fired, Ilg first dialled her husband who was at work when the incident occurred, before calling the police, said Smith. &nbsp;</p>

<p>He said that when the police officers reached the house, they broke down the door to enter and discovered the mother and child in a bedroom located upstairs. The local media was informed by the police chief that a SIG Sauer micro 9 mm handgun was seized by the police officers from the scene.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Speaking to the 19 News, the police chief said that the house was "full of safety features," and numerous protections were in place, which included baby gates.</p>

<p>However, he said the investigators later learned that various baby gates and a bedroom door, which are usually kept closed, were left open accidentally on the day when the shooting took place. Swedish court convicts Italian surgeon over patient deaths

Considered one of the deadliest maritime disasters in the history of the United States, it occurred on July 24, 1915, when SS Eastland capsized on the Chicago River, killing more than 800 people.

Around 2,150 refugees were travelling in SS Kiangya on December 4, 1948, when the ship exploded in the Huangpu River, most probably because it struck a World War II-era mine. More than 4,000 were killed in the tragedy.

SS Sultana exploded on April 27, 1865, on the Mississippi River, making it another deadliest maritime disaster in US history. The explosion occurred after the overtaxed boiler ruptured, which led to the death of hundreds of people as many remained trapped due to the collapse of the overloaded decks. Around 1,800 people were killed in the incident.

A German U-boat attacked the RMS Lusitania on May 7, 1915, after which the ship sank in just 18 minutes, killing 1,198 passengers. Germans considered the ship a legitimate target because they believed it was being used for transporting war material.

On December 20, 1987, the passenger ferry MV Dona Paz collided with oil tanker MT Vector in the Tablas Strait, near Manila. Due to the collision, 8,800 barrels of oil and gasoline spilt on the Vector, and the two ships were quickly engulfed in the blaze. The incident led to the death of more than 4,400 passengers and crew on both ships, and only 26 people were rescued.

On January 30, 1945, three torpedoes fired by a Soviet submarine slammed the ship's port side, which was carrying more than 10,000 passengers. In just an hour, the Gustloff slipped below the frigid Baltic waves. More than 9,000 people died in the tragedy.

US divided? Man creates his own country where wearing 'crocs' is not allowed

<p>According to the archaeologists an ancient oblong artefact, which dates back to 42,000 years, has a carving over it which suspiciously looks penis-like. Some of them also believe that the artefact can be one of the earliest phallic figurines discovered in the world.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, all researchers are not convinced by the observation, as all penis-like objects are not created with genitals in mind.</p>

<h2><strong>Rather shapeless, says archaeologist&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>Boston University archaeologist Curtis Runnels, speaking to <em>Science Alert</em>, said that the ornament looks "rather shapeless", however, it is hard to disagree with the observation at first glance.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>ALSO READ |</strong>&nbsp;<a href="https://www.wionews.com/science/what-was-the-actual-use-of-this-six-inch-stone-penis-in-medieval-spain-604494">What was the actual use of this six-inch 'stone penis' in medieval Spain?</a></p>

<p>University of Bordeaux's archaeologist Solange Rigaud and her colleagues stated that blob-like or not, the truth of the artefact lies in the details.</p>

<p>The grooved ornament, which has been given the tag T21, was originally discovered at an archaeological site in Mongolia in 2016. Recently, experts gave a closer look at the object which is estimated to be roughly between 39,500 and 42,200 years old, which suggests that it was created in the Upper Paleolithic period.</p>

<p>Two grooves have been made on the ornament's four-centimetre (1.6-inch) long body using a pointy stone tool. The deepest groove has been wrapped around the ornament's midsection, while the other groove has been carved short and deep from the top to the bottom of the ornament.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the researchers, the former incision was designed to show the glans of a penis, while they carved the latter incision with the intention to create a urethral opening.</p>

<h2><strong>Used as a tool?</strong></h2>

<p>The same features were observed in a 20-centimetre-long stone pebble which was discovered in Germany that is 28,000 years old and is believed to be one of the earliest representations of male sexuality ever discovered. The experts suspected that it may have been used as a tool, possibly to knap flints.</p>

<p>Even though the artefact from Mongolia remains unclear, if the archaeologists are correct about the fact that the design is&nbsp;similar to a penis, it can turn out to be human genitalia's earliest symbolic use found anywhere.</p>

<p>The ornament's 'backside is flattened out and appears shiny and smooth, which makes researchers believe that it was worn probably on someone's chest and was held using a cord wrapped around the middle groove.</p>

<p>"Overall, the use-wear pattern is consistent with the suspension of the pendant in contact with soft material for an extended period," the researchers stated.&nbsp;</p>

However, all researchers are not convinced by the observation, as all penis-like objects are not created with genitals in mind. Rather shapeless, says archaeologist Boston University archaeologist Curtis Runnels, speaking to Science Alert, said that the ornament looks "rather shapeless", however, it is hard to disagree with the observation at first glance. ALSO READ | What was the actual use of this six-inch 'stone penis' in medieval Spain? University of Bordeaux's archaeologist Solange Rigaud and her colleagues stated that blob-like or not, the truth of the artefact lies in the details. The grooved ornament, which has been given the tag T21, was originally discovered at an archaeological site in Mongolia in 2016. Recently, experts gave a closer look at the object which is estimated to be roughly between 39,500 and 42,200 years old, which suggests that it was created in the Upper Paleolithic period. Two grooves have been made on the ornament's four-centimetre (1.6-inch) long body using a pointy stone tool. The deepest groove has been wrapped around the ornament's midsection, while the other groove has been carved short and deep from the top to the bottom of the ornament. According to the researchers, the former incision was designed to show the glans of a penis, while they carved the latter incision with the intention to create a urethral opening. Used as a tool? The same features were observed in a 20-centimetre-long stone pebble which was discovered in Germany that is 28,000 years old and is believed to be one of the earliest representations of male sexuality ever discovered. The experts suspected that it may have been used as a tool, possibly to knap flints. Even though the artefact from Mongolia remains unclear, if the archaeologists are correct about the fact that the design is similar to a penis, it can turn out to be human genitalia's earliest symbolic use found anywhere. "Overall, the use-wear pattern is consistent with the suspension of the pendant in contact with soft material for an extended period," the researchers stated. The Titanic tourist submersible was lost for hours in 2022. Here's what it looks like

<p>Florida police officer William Hollingsworth tried to save a person who was trapped in floodwaters while putting his life at risk. However, despite best efforts, both men got sucked into a drainage pipe. The horrific incident was recorded on camera and the gripping video was shared on the social media platform.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Escambia County Deputy William Hollingsworth was carried almost 100 feet in the drainage pipe beneath a four-lane highway by the water along with the man in distress before the two resurfaced on the other side, said the Escambia County Sheriff's Office on Friday.</p>

<p>Escambia County has been facing severe weather and torrential downpours for several days which reached its peak on Friday morning. The sheriff's office stated Hollingsworth was on patrol duty to help the motorists who were stuck in rapidly rising waters. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The deputy, during his patrol, met a man who was stuck in a disabled vehicle.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Terrifying moment captured&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>The terrifying moment when the floodwaters captured Hollingsworth amid rescue was captured by the body camera footage. The police officer was dragged underwater by the water and was sucked by a drainage pipe by the side of the road.</p>

<p>For almost 30 seconds, all the noises in the video were drowned out by the roaring water as Hollingsworth is seen tumbling through the darkness. Through some miracle, the police officer along with the distressed man came out of&nbsp;the&nbsp;other side of the highway, where there was an outlet.</p>

<p>Mandeep Kaur alias 'Daaku Haseena' and her husband Jaswinder Singh had pulled a daring heist at a cash management firm's office in the Indian city Ludhiana, as per the Punjab Police.
