<p>Electronic music lovers know the drill: as soon as the DJ turns up the bass, the crowd goes wild and dances with heightened enthusiasm. But to what extent is this a conscious reaction?</p>

<p>Researchers have taken a closer look at the relationship between bass frequencies and dancing, thanks to an experiment conducted during a real-life electronic music concert.</p>

<p>The results, published Monday in the journal Current Biology, showed that participants danced almost 12 per cent more when researchers introduced a very low-frequency bass -- one that dancers could not hear.</p>

<p>"They couldn't tell when those changes happened, but it was driving their movements," neuroscientist David Cameron of McMaster University, who led the study, told AFP.</p>

<p>The results confirm the special relationship between bass and dance, which has never been scientifically proven.</p>

<p><strong>- The pulse of the music -</strong></p>

<p>Cameron, a trained drummer, notes that people attending electronic music concerts "love when they can feel the bass so strong" and tend to turn it up very loud. But they are not alone.</p>

<p>In many cultures and traditions across the world "it tends to be the low-frequency instruments like the bass guitar or the bass drum, that give the pulse of the music" that gets humans moving.</p>

<p>"What we didn't know is, can you actually make people dance more with bass?" said Cameron.</p>

<p>The experiment took place in Canada, in a building known as LIVElab, which served both as a concert hall and a research laboratory.</p>

<p>About 60 out of 130 people who went to see a concert by electronic music duo Orphyx were equipped with motion-sensing headbands to monitor their dance moves.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During the concert, researchers intermittently turned very-low bass-playing speakers on and off.</p>

<p>A questionnaire filled out by concert-goers confirmed that the sound was undetectable. This allowed researchers to isolate the impact of the bass and avoid other factors, such as dancers reacting to a popular part of a song.</p>

<p><strong>- Below the level of consciousness -</strong></p>

<p>"I was impressed with the effect," said Cameron.</p>

<p>His theory is that even when undetected, the bass stimulates sensory systems in the body, such as the skin and the vestibular system -- more commonly known as the inner ear.</p>

<p>These systems have a very close connection to the motor system -- responsible for movement -- but in an intuitive way that bypasses the frontal cortex.</p>

<p>He compares it to the way the body keeps the lungs breathing and the heart beating. "It is below the level of consciousness."</p>

<p>Cameron said the research team believes the stimulation of these systems "give a little boost to your motor system. And that adds a little bit of energy and vigour to your real-world movements."</p>

<p>The Board of Trustee’s Award was awarded to Virgil Abloh to honour the late designer’s contribution to global fashion. The award was received by his wife, Shannon Abloh, who said, “What he was able to accomplish in his short 41 years will live on to inspire all of us for decades to come.”</p>

<p>Netizens have been bashing the makers of the much-awaited film 'Adipurush' ever since its trailer dropped online. The film has been criticised harshly by the audience over the quality of its VFX and visuals. Seeing the response from the critics, the makers&nbsp;have now decided to give the film some more time so that their production team can work on delivering a better visual experience.</p>

<p>Taking to Twitter on Monday, director Om Raut shared that the Prabhas and Kriti Sanon-starrer will now release&nbsp;on June 16, 2023, instead of January 12. And, the decision has been made&nbsp;to "give a complete visual experience to the viewers" and "give more time to the teams working on the film".</p>

<p>The director shared a note on Twitter, which read, "Jai Shri Ram. Adipurush is not a film, but a representation of our devotion to Prabhu Shri Ram and commitment towards our sanskriti and history. In order to give a complete visual experience to the viewers, we need to give more time to the teams working on the film. (sic)"</p>

Taking to Twitter on Monday, director Om Raut shared that the Prabhas and Kriti Sanon-starrer will now release on June 16, 2023, instead of January 12. And, the decision has been made to "give a complete visual experience to the viewers" and "give more time to the teams working on the film". The director shared a note on Twitter, which read, "Jai Shri Ram. Adipurush is not a film, but a representation of our devotion to Prabhu Shri Ram and commitment towards our sanskriti and history. In order to give a complete visual experience to the viewers, we need to give more time to the teams working on the film. (sic)" "We are committed to make a film that India will be proud of. <p>The 27-year-old supermodel&nbsp;even called the social media platform a "cesspool of hate and bigotry" as she announced her exit from Twitter.</p>

<p>"For a long time, but especially with its new leadership," Gigi wrote.&nbsp;"It's becoming more and more of a cesspool of hate &amp; bigotry, and its not a place I want to be a part&nbsp;of. (sic)"</p>

<p>Gigi also apologised&nbsp;to her fans on the platform and shared that she "loved connecting" with them "for a decade".</p>

<p>"I can't stay it's a safe place for anyone, nor a social platform that will do more good than harm," she further added.</p>

<p>With her statement, Gigi also attached Human Rights Counsel Shannon Raj Singh's tweet about being laid off from the tech giant. Shannon's post read, "Yesterday was my last day at Twitter: the entire Human Rights team has been cut from the company. I am enormously proud of the work we did to implement the UN Guiding Principles on Business &amp; Human Rights, to protect those at-risk in global conflicts &amp; crises including Ethiopia."</p>

<p>American singer Harry Styles has made more changes to his tour schedule due to his sickness. After postponing Friday night's concert at Kia Forum, Los Angeles due to a "band illness", Styles has rescheduled 3 more concerts as he still hasn't recovered from flu.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to Styles' latest post,&nbsp;his concerts that were scheduled for November&nbsp;5, 6 and 7 have been rescheduled to January&nbsp;26, 27 and 29,&nbsp;2023. "Everything else will play as planned," he shared.</p>

<p>"Towards the end of the show on Wednesday I started feeling ill and I’ve been in bed with the flu ever since," Styles wrote in an Instagram Story. "I’ve been doing everything I can to be able to sing tonight, but I’m leaving the doctor now and I’m devastated that it’s just not possible. Until very recently I haven’t had to postpone a show due to illness in the 12 years I’ve been touring. I’m so sorry to do it, and if there was anyway I could do the show I would."</p>
