This textbook, crafted for the subject "Fundamentals of Security and Defence of the Motherland," is set to replace the existing "Fundamentals of Safe Living" curriculum in Russia and occupied territories in Ukraine.

Produced&nbsp;by prominent figures associated with the Russian defence ministry and Kremlin newspaper Rossiiskaya Gazeta, the 368-page textbook glorifies Russian military exploits from the 13th century to the present day.

The textbook lauds Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin and celebrates past victories, including the annexation of Crimea in 2014, which it terms as the "reunification of Crimea with Russia."

"When there was a coup d'état in Kyiv in 2014, the new government initiated a crackdown on everything Russian," the book read adding, "Russian books were burned, monuments were destroyed, Russian songs and the Russian language itself were banned... 'Russian blood' cocktails were served in restaurants."

The textbook also portrayed Russia as a protector of civilians while demonising Ukraine. As per reports, the book downplayed Russia's destruction of Ukrainian infrastructure and civilian casualties.&nbsp;

Moreover, the textbook strategically targets over-18s, urging them to enlist in the army by highlighting benefits such as free medical care, attractive salaries, and insurance.

The text also said that "Russia fights with integrity", "Ukraine frequently targets civilian infrastructure", and Mariupol was destroyed during fight with "Nazis" as well as "foreign mercenaries".

The sanctuary had faced challenges in tiger conservation. In 2005, it had undergone the loss of its entire tiger population due to poaching and other reasons. However, efforts were made to reintroduce tigers into the reserve, and as of that time, there had been some success in increasing the tiger population.

The spotting of three new cubs is a remarkable development in the sanctuary which teetered on the brink of losing its tiger population. Today, the reserve proudly boasts 25 adult tigers and eight playful cubs.&nbsp;

The joyous news was shared by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.

He pointed out the significance of tigers in the ecosystem, highlighting their role as a "unique heritage of nature." CM Sharma also affirmed the government's unwavering commitment to safeguarding and promoting the majestic tiger,&nbsp;a "symbol of strength and beauty."&nbsp;

Notably, the national animal of India is the Panthera tigris, which holds significant cultural and ecological importance in India and is a symbol of strength, power, and grace. It is also one of the most iconic and charismatic species found in India's diverse wildlife.

India: Tiger population rises as three new cubs are spotted in Rajasthan’s Sariska reserve

Gaza has been reeling under an immense humanitarian crisis as access to basic services such as food and water remains limited. With the residents continuing to face hardships, the blockade imposed by Israel has severely restricted the movement of aid in the Gaza Strip through Egypt as well.

The plan involves&nbsp;Joint Logistics Over The Shore (JLOTS) equipment.&nbsp;This will be akin to a large LEGO system, as per a report by the Times of Israel.&nbsp;It will be comprised of 40-foot-long steel pieces that interlock to create a pier and causeway.

The question is how these steel pieces will be taken to the sea. It will be done with the help of a big Military Sealift Command vessel. As per reports, US troops in a few days will start loading the JLOTS into the vessel.&nbsp;

The resulting causeway can span up to 1,800 feet in length and will be two-laned. This causeway will allow for the transfer of aid from cargo ships to smaller vessels and ultimately onto land in Gaza with the help of another floating pier.&nbsp;

Speaking to a UK media outlet, a retired US Marine Corps colonel&nbsp;Mark Cancian said,&nbsp;"The military's preference is to have an operating port. That makes everything much easier."&nbsp;

"But that's not always possible, either due to a conflict situation or in a peacetime, humanitarian mission," he said adding, "That's where JLOTS comes in."

Security measures are also paramount, with reports quoting experts highlighting the need to prevent unauthorised access to the pier area. The Israel Defense Force (IDF) will oversee outer security.&nbsp;

The aid shipments are expected to make a major impact, potentially providing two million meals a day to Gaza's population, helping alleviate the humanitarian crisis exacerbated by the ongoing conflict.

As West Bengal&nbsp;gears&nbsp;up for the elections with 42 parliamentary constituencies in the state, TMC attempted a seat-sharing agreement with the Congress as part of the Opposition's INDIA bloc, but failed.

As recently as Sunday (Mar 10), the West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee declared that there would be no seat adjustments with Congress in the state.

This is yet another statement by the state CM after her January comments where she affirmed the TMC's decision to contest alone in West Bengal after failed negotiations with the Congress. "Whatever proposal I gave them, they have refused all," she had stated while adding, "Since then, we have decided to go alone in Bengal."

The negotiations seemingly failed after TMC's stance on seat-sharing remained firm. The party had offered only two seats to the Congress based on electoral performance criteria, which&nbsp;was rejected by the grand old party.

Media reports citing sources have said that the candidate list to be announced by the TMC may feature familiar names. This could include current MPs, while also introducing some fresh faces.&nbsp;In a surprising move, the TMC might also announce candidate names&nbsp;for Assam, Meghalaya, and Uttar Pradesh.

The announcement coincided with the 'Jana Garjan Sabha' rally. The rally led by the state CM drew a massive crowd of supporters.&nbsp;

Our party supremo Mamata Banerjee will give a message which we will take to every nook and corner of West Bengal and ensure the defeat of the BJP in all the 42 Lok Sabha seats of the state,” PTI news agency reported earlier while quoting TMC leader Firhad Hakim.

India elections 2024: Trinamool dumps oppn INDIA bloc, announces all 42 candidates in Bengal

Indian farmers held a 'rail roko'&nbsp; or 'stop the trains' protest on Sunday (Mar 10) at noon, which&nbsp;continued for four hours.

The farmers have been holding protests urging the central government to formulate a law for MSP guarantee. MSP or Minimum Support Price denotes the minimum price set by the government for purchasing crops from farmers.&nbsp;

This protest is in continuation of the ongoing agitation by Indian farmers, which began on February 13 with the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march (translated to 'March towards Delhi'). As part of the march, over 200 disgruntled farmers' unions mobilised toward the national capital.

The farmers' demands include a law which assures MSP&nbsp;for their crops. Additionally, they are demanding pensions for farmers and labourers, farm debt relief, implementation of the Swaminathan Commission’s recommendations, withdrawal of legal cases, and restoration of the Land Acquisition Act, 2013, as well as compensation for families affected during previous protests.

We also urge those, who want to undertake train travel between 12 pm - 4 pm today, to not do the same for four hours today. People might face a little inconvenience today.
