<p>The G20 is the world’s preeminent forum for global economic cooperation. Leaders will focus on navigating the global economy back to strong, sustainable and resilient growth, according to a statement by the Australian PM's office.</p>

<p>“Deepening Australia’s engagement with Southeast Asia is a key priority for my Government. Our futures are intertwined – so it’s essential that we work together to achieve a peaceful, stable and prosperous region," a press statement from the Australian Prime Minister's office said quoting Albanese.</p>

<p>Albanese said that Australia is proud to be hosting a Special Summit to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the ASEAN-Australia Dialogue Relations in 2024.</p>

<p>The Australian Prime Minister will attend the 3rd Annual ASEAN-Australia Summit and the 18th East Asia Summit in Jakarta from September 6–7. Australia’s close partnership with ASEAN and its members is critical to achieving mutual prosperity, security and peace in the region.</p>

<p>As part of the Australian Government’s upgrade of relationships with countries of Southeast Asia, Albanese will travel to Manila, the first Australian Prime Minister to undertake a bilateral visit to the Philippines since the year 2003.</p>

<p>Another MP called the incident an “embarrassment” and labeled Home Office “incompetent”. Following the evacuation of migrants from the barge on Friday, they have now been relocated to hotels.</p>

<p>It wasn't until Friday that all 39 migrants were finally relocated from the barge. Prominent Members of Parliament are now raising questions about why this group was permitted before receiving the test outcomes.</p>

Egypt's resistance to supply weapons to Ukraine poses challenge for Biden administration: Report

<p>A former student of Jadavpur University in India's West Bengal, who had been residing in the main hostel, has been apprehended on charges of being involved in the ragging of Swapnadip Kundu, an 18-year-old undergraduate student who tragically fell to death from the second-floor balcony of the main hostel building. Police are now investigating the case as a suspected suicide.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The ex-student identified as Sourabh Chowdhury, who completed his MSc in Mathematics in 2022, was taken into custody following an FIR lodged against him by Swapnadip's father.</p>

<p>Ramprasad Kundu, in his police complaint, named several residents of the hostel, including Chowdhury, as allegedly responsible for his son's tragic demise. Consequently, a case under section 302/34 IPC has been initiated, a police officer reportedly said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Swapnadip Kundu, a native of Bagula in Nadia district, fell from the second-floor balcony of the main hostel building around 11.45 pm on Wednesday.</p>

<p>Despite being rushed to a hospital, he succumbed to his injuries at 3.40 am on Thursday. Preliminary postmortem reports indicated severe head injuries and fractures to his left rib and pelvis due to the impact of the fall.</p>

<h2><strong>Governor's pledge, University response</strong></h2>

<p>West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose visited Jadavpur University Hostel and expressed his commitment to ensuring justice for the unfortunate incident. He engaged with students and faculty members, acknowledging their concerns.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Following the tragedy, a ten-member inquiry committee was dispatched to the Jadavpur University Hostel to investigate the circumstances surrounding the student's fall.</p>

<p>Squadron leader Shivam Rana reportedly said that the upgraded MiG-29s can operate with night vision goggles, boasting extended range capabilities due to air-to-air refuelling capacity.</p>

<p>Weiss, who has been investigating Hunter Biden since 2019, filed misdemeanour criminal tax and gun charges in June, but a federal judge refused to accept a proposed plea deal.</p>

<p>Weiss said in a court filing on Friday that talks between the two sides have since broken down. "The Government now believes that the case will not resolve short of a trial," he wrote.</p>

<p>The filing came moments after U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland elevated Weiss to special counsel status, giving him additional authority and independence to pursue the investigation.</p>

<p>Hunter Biden in July pleaded not guilty to charges of failing to pay taxes on more than $1.5 million in income in 2017 and 2018 despite owing more than $100,000. He did not enter a plea deal in a separate case where he is charged with unlawfully owning a firearm while using illegal drugs, which is a felony.</p>

<h2><strong>Trump appointee&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>Weiss was originally appointed to his position as U.S. Attorney for Delaware by Trump and was allowed to stay on during the Biden administration.</p>

<p>As a special counsel, Weiss will be free from day-to-day supervision from the Justice Department and file charges anywhere in the United States. Garland can overrule his proposed actions but must notify Congress if he does so.</p>

<p>A lawyer for Hunter Biden said he expected Weiss not to bend to political pressures.</p>

<p>"Whether in Delaware, Washington, D.C. or anywhere else, we expect a fair resolution not infected by politics and we’ll do what is necessary on behalf of Mr. Biden to achieve that,” lawyer Chris Clark said in a statement.</p>

<p>Weiss will produce a report when his work is done, Garland said, and the Justice Department will make as much of it public as is possible.</p>

<p>"The appointment of Mr. Weiss reinforces for the American people the department's commitment to both independence and accountability in particularly sensitive matters," Garland told a press conference.</p>

Hunter Biden could face criminal trial, newly named US special counsel says

<p>According to Kugelman, PTI faces a formidable challenge following Imran Khan's removal from the political scene.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"PTI is in a tough spot. The entire party has been hollowed out, and with Khan out of the picture it's essentially anchorless for the time being," he said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, Kugelman pointed&nbsp;out that PTI still enjoys advantages such as "public support and anti-incumbency sentiment". "If it's given enough space to operate in, it still has a chance of making electoral gains."</p>

Out of nowhere, a snake landed on her arm after it was dropped from the sky by a hawk.&nbsp;Struggling to remove the wriggling snake, Peggy found herself in a perilous situation as the snake coiled around her arm and began striking at her face.</p>

<p>"As I was trying to fling the snake off, it wrapped around my arm," she told CBS News adding, "The snake was striking in my face, it struck my glasses a couple of times... He was striking and striking, and he just kept hanging on."</p>

<p>Further, as Peggy was grappling with the snake, the hawk suddenly entered the scene with a swift dive. The hawk attempted to seize the snake it had dropped, which was now ensnared around Peggy's arm.</p>

<p>"Then the hawk appeared just as fast as the snake appeared," Peggy said adding, "The hawk grabbed the snake that was wrapped around my arm and pulled it like he was going to carry it away. And when he did, it flung my arm up. The hawk was carrying my arm and the snake with it."</p>

<p>"There were puncture wounds, cuts, abrasions, scratches and severe bruising," she said, adding that the snake's attacks to her face damaged her glasses.</p>

<p>A fierce battle ensued between Peggy, the snake, and the hawk. The hawk relentlessly tried to regain its prey, repeatedly injuring Peggy with its talons.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After a relentless struggle, the hawk managed to wrench the snake away from Peggy's arm. The traumatic encounter left Peggy in shock, and her husband quickly took her to the hospital for medical attention.&nbsp;</p>
