<p>They also clarified that they didn't organise the rally but had promoted it on behalf of an unnamed "coalition partner" in the name of equality and justice for both Palestinians and Israelis.</p>

<p>Swisa, who served in the IDF for 15 years, revealed a personal tragedy that a soldier he served with was assassinated during the weekend music festival in the south.</p>

<p>"I've been crying for two or three days now, and it's time to stop. I'm prepared to battle. What else can I do after my friends in Israel are buried?" he said.</p>

<p>His demand, which the United Nations said would be impossible to carry out “without devastating humanitarian consequences”, comes a day after Blinken visited Israel and held talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the conflict.</p>

<p>U.S. President Joe Biden dispatched his top diplomat to the region, engulfed in its most serious escalation in years, following an attack by Palestinian Hamas militants who rampaged through Israeli towns killing 1,200 Israelis.</p>

<p>“Across each of these engagements, we’ll continue pressing countries to help prevent the conflict from spreading, and to use their leverage with Hamas to immediately and unconditionally release the hostages,” Blinken told a news conference in Tel Aviv.</p>

<p>WION spoke to 39-year-old Indian professional Harsh in Israel who found himself in the midst of the war.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A resident of an Israeli Kibbutz- or community- in the northern part of the country, he opened up about his experiences and his unwavering commitment to Israel, a country he now calls his home.</p>

<p>Even as India has launched a mission to bring its citizens back to the home country, Harsh is staying put, because for him, the community is family.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I am on a working visa here. I mean the situation is very critical in all over Israel but where I live in north part of Israel, in kibbutz, the situation is under control.”</p>

<p>The reality of living in a war zone became all too apparent as he spoke of the precautions people must take.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Asked about the availability of safe houses or bunkers, he said, "It is everywhere. We have bomb shelters in each city and village. We have phone applications. Sometimes we get a notification on the app if there is any danger or any emergency. We have air raid sirens in place as well."</p>

<p>It's a matter of seconds when the alarm goes off.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Whenever we get any notification, we need to run in 15 seconds or under one minute."</p>

<p>Just yesterday, an alarming situation unfolded, he shared. "There was some critical situation there, and we got the message that there were some gliders-like unknown objects in the skies hovering around here, and they started shooting over people here on the ground."</p>

<p>In war situations, quick decisions must be made in such moments.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Despite these tense moments, which continue to emerge every now and then, this Indian expatriate remains resolute about his stay in Israel.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"No, I am not planning to come back. I am planning to stay. I am here on a working visa, so I am devoted to this country and I just don't want to run away anywhere. Even if I have to fight, I am willing to do that."</p>

<p>While speaking, there was a sense of belonging I felt in him for Israel.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Given the government security, I have no fear inside the community I live. I am just worried about the things that are happening in other places."</p>

<p>The Kibbutz has become more than a place of residence. It is a home for him now.&nbsp;</p>

'Willing to fight for Israel', expat Indian tells WION, recounts alarm after suspected 'aerial assault' 

<p>A study conducted on juveline Wallace's flying frogs at Vienna's Schoenbrunn Zoo in Austria has revealed some interesting findings. It suggests that the colour of these young creatures is such that helps them to camouflage themselves as poop (animal droppings).&nbsp;</p>

<p>Wallace's flying frog is also known as the gliding frog. They are bright red in colour and have small white dots on them. These frogs are native to&nbsp;Southeast Asia region and are reportedly named after biologist Alfred R. Wallace, who collected the first known specimen.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per this new study quoted by AFP, these frogs display an "unusual colour pattern". This helps them to trick their predators and escape any potential attack by them. The study said that with the help of their colour they appear "as animal droppings".&nbsp;</p>

<p>The zoo, in a statement on Thursday (Oct 12), revealed the study conducted by the team of researchers.&nbsp;</p>

<p>University of Vienna researcher Susanne Stueckler reportedly said, "The young frogs probably count on the fact that they will be seen but considered something inedible."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Along with her, there were several others who contributed to the research. The findings were published in the journal Behavioral Ecology and Sociobiology.</p>

<h2><strong>How was the hypothesis tested?&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>During the research, it was essential for the team to verify their hypothesis with an experiment staging a scenario where these frogs are put in an environment alongside their potential predators.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>The hypothesis was that these frogs were trying to escape predators.</p>

<p>To test this, the researchers manufactured wax frog models with different colours. These models were subsequently put in the zoo's rainforest house.</p>

<p>As per the study, the house "contains a diverse community of avian predators that are well known to use colour vision to detect frogs as prey."&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Study findings&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>The study found&nbsp;that the predator attack rate was much higher for red than for green frog models.</p>

<p>However, the attack rate dropped by half when these were red models with white spots, a model equating the appearance of Wallace's flying frog.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We show that the unusual colour pattern of juveniles likely functions as a masquerade of animal droppings," the researchers said adding," (It may) function as anti-predator strategy... so that predators misidentified them as inedible objects."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The researchers said that this is a first-of-its-kind experiment.&nbsp;"To our knowledge, this is the first experimental exploration of a vertebrate masquerading as animal droppings," they said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It is worth noting that as these frogs age, their spots vanish. It goes away after one year, "when individuals mature into adults and develop their iconic emerald green colour," reported AFP citing the study.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the face of wars and conflict situations across the world, India has successfully launched such operations in the past as well.</p>

<p>For instance, Operation Ganga was launched in the wake of the Russian invasion to safely bring back stranded nationals from Ukraine.</p>

<p>Operation Devi Shakti was launched where the Indian Armed Forces safely evacuated Indian citizens and foreign nationals from Afghanistan following the fall of Kabul at the hands of the Taliban.</p>

<p>India is a long-standing ally of Israel. Indian PM Narendra Modi has condemned the attack, the worst one on Israel in five decades, in the strongest words possible.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, on Wednesday (Oct 11), the Indian embassy in Israel urged citizens stranded in the war-ravaged country to remain "calm and vigilant" and follow the issued advisories.</p>

<p>"The Embassy has been working constantly to help our fellow citizens in Israel through a 24-hour helpline. Please remain calm &amp; vigilant &amp; follow the security advisories. 24*7 Emergency Helpline/Contact: &nbsp;Tel +972-35226748, Tel +972-543278392. <p>A similar statement was also issued by the Representative Office of India in Palestine who also shared the emergency helpline numbers for Indians who are stuck in Palestine.</p>

<p>PM Modi recently voiced his backing to Israel in a discussion with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu. The PM vowed that India stands “firmly with Israel in this difficult hour”.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I thank Prime Minister @netanyahu for his phone call and providing an update on the ongoing situation. People of India stand firmly with Israel in this difficult hour. India strongly and unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations”, the prime minister posted.</p>
