<p>The demonstrators demanding the reinstatement of the monarchy and a Hindu kingdom turned violent after Durga Prasai, the convenor of the agitation, broke the security barricade and headed towards the Parliament building in a bulletproof vehicle. Parsai is at large, according to the police.</p>

<p>The Indian government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi hiked Dearness Allowance (DA) for central government employees by 2 per cent on Friday (March 28), according to the Economic Times report.</p>
<p>The announcement has increased Dearness Allowance from 53% to 55%, offering a salary boost to employees ahead of the anticipated 8th Pay Commission. The previous DA hike had happened in July 2024, when it was raised by 3 per cent to stand at 53 per cent.</p>
<p>Dearness Allowance (DA) is given to government employees to help them cope with rising inflation and ensure their salaries meet the rising expenses. Unlike basic salaries that are set by the Pay Commission every 10 years, DA is adjusted periodically keeping in mind the inflation trend. DA rate is based on the All India Consumer Price Index (Industrial Workers) reading for January and December.</p>
<h2><strong>Who benefit</strong></h2>
<p>The hike, which was earlier expected around the festival of colours Holi, will benefit about 48.66 lakh Central Government employees and 66.55 lakh pensioners and family pensioners. The hiked salary for the month of March along with arrears for January and February will be paid to the employees.</p>
<p>The hike in Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief will together cost the central exchequer Rs. 6614.04 crore per annum, reported the media outlet.</p>

<p>A London based accountant, who paid a whopping 1.5 million pounds ($1.9 million) to purchase a Versace-designed flat has sued the company on claims that the property did not meet the required luxury standards promised to her.</p>
<p>Mi Suk Park hade made a deposit of 381,000 pounds for a two-bedroom apartment and a parking space in the 50-storey Aykon London One tower in Nine Elms, according to The Telegraph. The tower was developed in collaboration with the fashion house Versace.&nbsp;</p>
<h2><strong>"Smaller room, no bathtub"</strong></h2>
<p>The apartment was bought by Park to be her and her husband's retirement home. To buy the apartment she sold sold her previous home in 2019 to move into Aykon London One tower in 2020, however, it got delayed and was delivered in 2022. But when Park saw it she wasn't happy with the amenities and complained to the Central London County Court that one bedroom was smaller than expected and the bathroom did not have a bathtub.</p>
<h2><strong>Legal battle</strong></h2>
<p>Suing the company for 700,000 pounds ($900,000 approx) she said, &nbsp;"the flat was materially and manifestly different from the layout of the apartment as set out in the plan and description&rdquo; promised to her at the time of buying the apartment.</p>
<p>"The apartment was an 'off plan' purchase on the 29th floor facing the west and, when built, it would have two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with a bathtub in each critically," said Nazar Mohammad, Ms Park's attorney.</p>
<p>"It was to be an open-plan layout. The defendant provided a plan appended to the sales and purchase agreement, and she signed the same plan," he added.</p>
<p>However, the developer has filed a countersuit, accusing Ms Park of not completing the purchase.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Park refused to complete and instead, purported to rescind the contract by letter dated 14 October 2022. Subsequently, the defendant served notice to complete on 22 November 2022 and, following the claimant&rsquo;s failure to complete, a notice of termination on January 9, 2023. <p>The telescope that also spotted more than 50 dwarf galaxies orbiting the Milky Way, tracked 150,000 asteroids and detected at least 33 black holes inside it made the observation from a stable orbit 1.5 million kilometres (932,000 miles) from Earth called the second Lagrange point, reported news agency AFP.</p>
<p>However, the recent arrivals of the powerful James Webb and Euclid space telescopes forced ESA to shut down its space observatory mission Gaia.</p>
<p>Though Gaia has been removed from service, the "retirement orbit" will make sure it will remain at least 10 million kilometres from Earth for the next 100 years.</p>

<p>In a bizarre incident, a two-year-old boy urinated into a glass meant for customers at a restaurant in Hangzhou, China. The incident sparked anger as the act was defender by the mother, who said he could not hold it in any more. A customer, surnamed Tang witnessed the happening at the Fuyuanju Restaurant and reported it to the news outlet The Cover, according to the South China Morning Post.</p>
<p>Recounting the incident, Tang said, a young boy, who was dining with his mother at the table next to theirs, suddenly got up from his seat, pulled down his trousers, and peed into a glass.</p>
<p>"When the boy said he needed to pee, one of the elderly family members fetched a bin, suggesting he use it. But the boy's mother dismissed the idea and said, 'Just let him pee directly into the glass,'" Tang was quoted as saying by the media outlet.</p>
<h2><strong>Mother justifies action</strong></h2>
<p>What was even more shocking was that the restaurant staff, who was nearby the table did not intervene despite being witness to the incident, said tang. The urine-filled glass that was not a disposable utensil remained on the table for a while creating an unbearable odour. It was removed only after Tang and her friends asked a worker at the restaurant to deal with the issue.</p>
<p>After being confronted by the worker, the mother apologised but defended the action saying, "We're sorry, but he really couldn't hold it anymore. So he peed in the cup."</p>

<p>The incident created a huge controversy in China, with social media users calling it &ldquo;Haidilao Urinating Gate 2.0.&rdquo; This refers to the incident in which two teenagers recorded themselves peeing into a hotpot soup at Haidilao, a popular hotpot chain.</p>
<p>The company had to shell out tens of millions of yuan as compensation to customers who dined at the outlet where the incident took place.</p>

A customer, surnamed Tang witnessed the happening at the Fuyuanju Restaurant and reported it to the news outlet The Cover, according to the South China Morning Post. Recounting the incident, Tang said, a young boy, who was dining with his mother at the table next to theirs, suddenly got up from his seat, pulled down his trousers, and peed into a glass. "When the boy said he needed to pee, one of the elderly family members fetched a bin, suggesting he use it. But the boy's mother dismissed the idea and said, 'Just let him pee directly into the glass,'" Tang was quoted as saying by the media outlet. Mother justifies action What was even more shocking was that the restaurant staff, who was nearby the table did not intervene despite being witness to the incident, said tang. The urine-filled glass that was not a disposable utensil remained on the table for a while creating an unbearable odour. It was removed only after Tang and her friends asked a worker at the restaurant to deal with the issue. After being confronted by the worker, the mother apologised but defended the action saying, "We're sorry, but he really couldn't hold it anymore. So he peed in the cup." Restaurant offers compensation Later, the restaurant boss oppologised to Tang and gave her a refund and a compensation of close to 1,000 yuan (US$140). However, Tang refused to take the compensation. Outrage on social media The incident created a huge controversy in China, with social media users calling it “Haidilao Urinating Gate 2.0.” This refers to the incident in which two teenagers recorded themselves peeing into a hotpot soup at Haidilao, a popular hotpot chain. The company had to shell out tens of millions of yuan as compensation to customers who dined at the outlet where the incident took place.
