Liam Livingstone was the star performer for Mayank Agarwal-led Punjab Kings (PBKS) as they locked horns with the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in match 11 of the IPL 2022 edition in India, on Sunday evening (April 3).&nbsp;

Being asked to bat first, at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai, PBKS weren't off to a desirable start as they were reduced to 14-2 before Livingstone's 32-ball 60, studded with five fours and an equal number of sixes, led to Punjab's recovery. Along with vital knocks from Shikhar Dhawan, Jitesh Sharma and some late hits, PBKS posted 180-8 in 20 overs before defending the total by 54 runs.

While Livingstone also made a mark with the ball, returning with 2 for 25, the Englishman's contribution with the bat was the real difference. After their worst-ever start to an IPL season, losing their opening two games, CSK had a tough task to get off the mark in the points table in the 15th season.

In both their opening two games, CSK had also lost the toss and paid the price for playing against the conditions. However, luck was on Jadeja's side this time around as he won the coin toss versus Mayank Agarwal. Despite CSK winning the toss and reducing Punjab to 14-2, they couldn't contain the run-flow as Liam Livingstone's 32-ball 60 and valuable knocks from Shikhar Dhawan and wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma propelled Punjab to 180-8 in 20 overs. In reply, CSK were never in the run-chase with wickets falling at regular intervals in the first ten overs. It`s my information that it`s down to four and in the next weeks there should be further talks and negotiations," Tuchel told a news conference ahead of Saturday`s Premier League game against Brentford. "I`m not sure if they want to (meet me) and I`m not sure if I should (meet them). Maybe it`s best for me to be involved as late as possible in this." Tuchel also hailed the British government`s decision to amend its operating licence to allow supporters of the club to buy tickets to away games.

We need our spectators behind us, so if we are a little bit less, they have to compensate for those missing."

The German added that he could do little to help Chelsea midfielder Jorginho put the disappointment of Italy`s World Cup qualifying loss behind him, stressing that it was the club`s responsibility to create a "safe place" for players. "I`ll be honest, I didn`t speak a lot about that (Italy`s elimination) because what could I say to get his pain away? Nothing," Tuchel said.

Iyer was appointed the captain of KKR ahead of IPL 2022 and he impressed everyone with the way he led the side so far. After an opening victory, Kolkata Knight Riders succumbed to a six-wicket defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the second match of this season, in which their batting failed to click at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai last Wednesday. Meanwhile, Punjab Kings (PBKS) started their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 campaign with a five-wicket victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the DY Patil Stadium last Sunday. Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan said during an episode of `Cricket Live` on Star Sports: "Shreyas Iyer is a brilliant captain. Remember, he picked up captaincy midway through the season like Rohit Sharma who was named Mumbai Indians` captain halfway through the season in IPL 2013. For Delhi Capitals, Shreyas started well under the supervision of coach Ricky Ponting and he kept improving his decision-making skills in his first stint as captain."
