In a concerning development for global trade, the panama canal is facing a critical water shortage. Unlike the Suez Canal, the panama canal relies on freshwater from lake Gatun, and its water level has reached dangerously low levels. The canal's dependence on rainwater, coupled with the El Nino weather phenomenon has resulted in the second driest year in its 110-year-old history. Watch to know more!
