Washington state has established the country’s first-ever stockpile of abortion drugs, which Governor Jay Inslee described as a protective measure against potential future lawsuits aiming to ban the procedure nationwide. Inslee also noted the stockpile serves as insurance against the possibility of Republican Donald Trump winning a second presidential term, which could further threaten abortion rights in the U.S.
