More than 200 political prisoners at the Rodeo I jail east of Caracas have begun a hunger strike after a newly passed amnesty law excluded many of them, including those accused of serious offenses. Relatives and supporters have expressed anguish as the inmates protest their continued detention and call for release under the law’s provisions.
