U.S. President Donald Trump has suggested the war against Iran could soon come to an end, saying the conflict is “very complete, pretty much.” In an interview with CBS News, Trump claimed U.S. forces are far ahead of their planned four-to-five-week timeline for the assault.
Trump also asserted that Iran’s military capabilities had been severely degraded, claiming the country now has “no navy, no communications, no air force.” The comments come as fighting continues across West Asia following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran and retaliatory attacks across the region.
The U.S. president made the remarks while speaking at a Republican gathering in Doral, Florida and during a separate interview discussing the ongoing conflict.
