A non‑combat fire broke out aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford CVN‑78 aircraft carrier while it was deployed in the Red Sea as part of U.S. operations linked to the US‑Iran war. The blaze began in the ship’s laundry area and was quickly contained, and two U.S. sailors were injured with non‑life‑threatening wounds, according to U.S. military officials.
