Tamil Nadu extends maternity leave to 1 year for third child

Tamil Nadu has extended maternity leave for women government employees from 12 weeks to 365 days for the birth of a third child. The announcement was made by Human Resources Management Minister D. Sarathkumar, bringing benefits for a third child on par with those available for the first two children. The move is aimed at supporting women employees and strengthening welfare measures.
