South Africa has launched a major long-term vaccination programme aimed at protecting around 20 million cattle over the next decade. The campaign is designed to strengthen animal health, prevent the spread of disease and protect the country’s livestock industry, which is vital to food security and rural livelihoods. Officials say the rollout will take place in phases, with millions of cattle expected to be vaccinated each year.
