Russia training kids in combat: Patriotism or propaganda? | Drills spark debates
In southern Russia, dozens of schoolchildren participated in a military-style “route march” along the River Don, under the supervision of war veterans and military instructors. Dressed in camouflage, the children — some as young as 8, crawled through sand, carried weapons, and practiced throwing grenades in what organizers say is patriotic training.
