Papua New Guinea: Government confirms over 2,000 killed in landslide, debris 8 metres deep

Over 2,000 people were buried by a landslide on Friday, according to the Papua New Guinea government, which has officially requested assistance from abroad. The government estimate is around three times higher than the 670 estimate made by the UN.
