The Dutch government has blocked U.S.-based Kyndryl’s €100 million acquisition of cloud provider Solvinity, citing serious national security and digital sovereignty concerns. Officials feared that under American ownership, sensitive Dutch citizen data linked to DigiD — the country’s digital identity system — could become vulnerable to U.S. intelligence access and legal demands under the CLOUD Act.
