Middle East Conflict Cancels Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan Cricket Series

The Sri Lanka national cricket team has indefinitely postponed its upcoming white-ball series against Afghanistan, which was scheduled to begin in the United Arab Emirates this week.
The series, including three T20 internationals in Sharjah (March 13, 15, 17) and three ODIs in Dubai (March 20, 22, 25), was called off due to the ongoing fighting in the Middle East and disrupted flight operations across the region.
A Sri Lanka Cricket official confirmed the decision, citing both flight safety and escalating regional tensions following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, which triggered retaliatory missile and drone attacks by Tehran.
