Kurdish forces move closer to Syria's central government

Syria's central government and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces have completed a landmark agreement to integrate civilian institutions and military structures in the northeast into the Syrian state. SDF commander Mazloum Abdi and President Ahmed al-Sharaa finalized the terms after months of tensions, clashes and negotiations, marking a major step toward consolidating Syria's post-Assad power structure.
