The Maasai women of Kenya's laikipia county are overcoming an environmental hazard caused by an invasive prickly pear, transforming it into bio-gas and preserved fruits. Parts of the cactus called opuntia is edible, but its outer layers are very harmful to livestock which try to graze on it.
