On World Mental Health Day, actor Deepika Padukone has been named India’s first-ever Mental Health Ambassador by the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The appointment recognizes her years of advocacy and lived experience with mental health struggles. Deepika called the honor deeply meaningful and reaffirmed her commitment to building awareness, breaking stigma, and pushing for accessible mental health care across India. Health Minister JP Nadda and senior officials welcomed her appointment.
