Deadly Floods in Nepal and India's Bihar, Uttar Pradesh
Nepal and India's eastern states Bihar and Uttar Pradesh have been battered by heavy floods. Kosi and Gandak river in Bihar breached their embankments. Monsoon rains from June to mid-September bring widespread death and destruction across South Asia. The latest spell in Nepal came towards the end of its monsoon season.
