In the lead-up to Durga Puja, radical Islamist groups in Bangladesh have issued threats to puja committees and temples, demanding 5 lakh Bangladeshi taka in exchange for allowing the festival to proceed. The Hindu festival, set to be celebrated from October 9 to 13, is facing intimidation and extortion attempts, raising concerns about religious tensions in the country.
