<p>This is the third and most bizarre natural phenomenon to have&nbsp;been observed in the United States this week, after a rare earthquake and total solar eclipse.</p>

<p>It was reported that the sudden streak of light may have resulted from a meteor falling towards Earth somewhere in New Jersey's Garden State and surrounding area.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The luminous and brilliant spectacle was reported to the American Meteor Society by the residents in various New Jersey towns, along with some parts of Connecticut, New York and Pennsylvania.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Christina V, a resident of New Jersey, said that she had got out&nbsp;around 3:40 am when she saw the streak of light in the sky.</p>

<p>“I saw a bright green almost neon in colour falling from the sky. There weren’t any long trails or anything but it did fall and disappear,” Christina V wrote.</p>

<p>"I was watching it through a window so that might’ve affected my vision but I was just left there stunned. I rushed to tell my boyfriend what I saw and instantly went online to check if it was normal," she said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Dawn B, a resident of Mount Kisco in Westchester County, said that it was "incredible".&nbsp;“Kind of surreal,” she added.</p>

<p>An elderly woman from Idaho killed an intruder in her home in a brave act of self-defence. The 85-year-old woman, named Christine Jenneiahn, acted in one of the “most heroic acts of self-preservation”, as described by Bingham County Prosecutor Ryan Jolley.&nbsp;</p>

Out of the total amount of ₹1.08 crore, the accountant had failed to pay ₹67 lakh that was due under the 'ROC' category, ₹2 lakh&nbsp;under income tax, ₹48.06 lakh&nbsp;under goods and services tax, ₹4.93 lakh&nbsp;under employee's provident fund, and ₹4.75 lakh that was supposed to be paid as staff salaries.</p>

<p>According to local media reports, the city council had asked the residents of the houseboats in the Docktown Marina as they were blocking public access to a state waterway.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The two-storey houseboat was among the dozens of others who had been asked to move their homes away.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The situation stems from a 2015 case when homeowners near Docktown filed a lawsuit with the city claiming the marina was illegal. The Redwood City marina was once home to more than 100 people, according to the media reports.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The report by The San Francisco Standard citing the boat’s owner, who declined to give his full name, said that the vessel was expected to reach San Rafael by Monday afternoon.</p>

<p>The United States Coast Guard confirmed to SFGATE that the boat was still in transit on Monday afternoon.</p>

<p>Cambodia is mulling to take legal action against troublemaker YouTubers who allegedly torture and harass monkeys at a major heritage site to draw viewers online and earn cash.</p>

<p>A crowd of YouTubers is often seen at the Angkor UNESCO World Heritage Site, filming the wild animals but sometimes going a step forward and deliberately tormenting them to generate views.</p>

<p>Now, APSARA, or the Authority for the Protection of the Site and Management of the Region of Angkor has decided to put a break to the illicit activities by tightening the legal noose.</p>

<p>"They're making the content to earn money by having views on YouTube, so this is a very big issue for us," Long Kosal, a spokesperson for APSARA, said in an interview with the Associated Press.</p>

<p>"The monkey should be living in the wild, where they are supposed to be living, but the monkey nowadays is being treated like a domestic pet," Long Kosal said.</p>

<h2><strong>Disturbing acts </strong></h2>

<p>The Associated Press in its report cited several disturbing examples of such YouTubers torturing monkeys and animals in order to fetch more views.</p>

<p>In one example, a man held a baby animal by its neck as it struggled and squirmed and repeatedly doused it with water.</p>

<p>In another instance, a person caressed the genitals of a male macaque to get it excited for the camera.</p>

Rare six-legged mountain gazelle spotted in Israel

<p>On Monday (Apr 8), police in Los Angeles County were scrambling to piece together different incidents that resulted in the death of three people from a single family. It started with the killing of a man in a suburban apartment. Then, a baby girl was found dead on the side of a busy motorway and lastly, a woman was found dead after a car crash.</p>

<p>It was revealed only after a preliminary police investigation that the three incidents were linked to one family.</p>

<h2><strong>Timeline of family violence</strong></h2>

<p>The first sign of the family violence came up at 4:30 am local time on Monday. It was when officers were informed about a six-month-old infant in the roadway near the Sepulveda Boulevard/Howard Hughes Parkway exit on 405 Freeway. The police also found a nine-year-old girl at the scene.</p>

<p>While the infant was pronounced dead by emergency services, the nine-year-old girl was admitted to a hospital with moderate injuries.</p>

<p>According to media reports, a 911 caller spotted a black sedan near where the girls were found.</p>

<p>Then, at around 5 am local time, Redondo Beach police got a call about a car crash into a tree on Pacific Coast Highway near the intersection of Vincent Street. The female driver of the car was found dead.</p>

<p>At this point, no one could say these two incidents were related.</p>

<p>It was only revealed after police reached the home, in the 6200 block of Variel Avenue in Woodland Hills, of the dead female driver.</p>
