<p>She further said before shooting the song, which was supposed to be a solo song picturised only on her, she had clearly mentioned that she will not enact or perform any lewd, vulgar or uncomfortable steps.</p>

<p>However, on the forth day of the shoot, Patekar's behaviour was inappropriate as he was grabbing her by the arms and pushing her around on the pretext of teaching her some steps, the complaint said.</p>

<p>"When he was touching me indecently and unnecessary I felt very uncomfortable because of his behaviour, I felt he has outraged my modesty," the letter read.</p>

<p>Dutta even complained to the choreographer, producer and director hoping some action would be taken and everything would be fine.</p>

<p>But to her surprise, new steps were introduced by Acharya, which were intimate and included Patekar touching her inappropriately, she alleged.</p>

<p>The actor said she was being forced and pressurised to do the steps but after she refused, the producer threatened to defame her.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Everyone was taking side of Patekar, she said.</p>

<p>She then called her parents and manager, who questioned Patekar's actions. However, the producer refused to budge and Dutta had no choice but to leave the studio, the complaint said.</p>

<p>On the way out, her car was attacked but with the help of the police she managed to escape from the spot, it added.</p>

<p>We were then taken to the police station and my statement was recorded but not as per the complaint. Many parts of my complaint were deleted, omitted and avoided, she alleged.</p>

<p>She also lodged a complaint with CINTAA in March 2008.</p>

<p>"After the above incident I was under tremendous shock and I suffered psychological trauma and was unable to take work and suffered huge monetary loss in crores," Dutta said in the letter.</p>

<p>Earlier in the day, Patekar, who was shooting for his upcoming film "Housefull 4" in Jodhpur, landed here Saturday.</p>

Comedian and former AIB writer accussed of sexual harassment

<p>'Namaste England' actress Parineeti Chopra has spoken in support of Tanushree Dutta in the wake of the controversy surrounding her and Nana Patekar.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Parineeti spoke about women security and how urged women to speak up. "Honestly I really hope this is not the start of a #MeToo movement, because it would mean there are several such stories and I hope this is the first and the last story. If there are victims, especially women in the industry, actresses who have faced this, I want every woman to come out and speak. If they don't speak now, they will forever be suppressed. Personally, I've never gone through such an experience, if God forbid this happened with me I would have never kept quiet," she further added.</p>

<p>The star said that it's vital for women to feel secure in the industry.</p>

<p>&nbsp;"Keeping quiet is not the solution ever. This is something very serious which has happened to someone if it has happened. I'm not taking sides because I wasn't there. If it has happened, it's the worst thing that can happen to a woman", said Parineeti.</p>

<p>Arjun Kapoor, co-star of Parineeti in 'Namaste England' said that it was extremely important for people not to pass judgments but simply hear the actor's side.</p>

I'm not taking sides because I wasn't there. If it has happened, it's the worst thing that can happen to a woman", said Parineeti. Arjun Kapoor, co-star of Parineeti in 'Namaste England' said that it was extremely important for people not to pass judgments but simply hear the actor's side. "I have two sisters in this industry and two others working elsewhere. I hope every woman feels safe...This happens everywhere, it's the reality but one person gathered courage and decided to speak up. We need to understand that it's important to listen first." "Problem is we start chaos and don't listen. That girl has spoken about something that's so dreaded... In a long post on Facebook, Sattyajit Gazmer stated that Tanushree was shooting for a song sequence which had her drenched in rain. The director reveals that how Tanushree kept missing her cues and argued during a shot that featured her back and Irrfan Khan's closeup and it was Gazmer who asked her to take off her bathrobe and "shoot in film costume which she was anyways wearing under the bathrobe."<br />

Gazmer recalls that since the shot was taking too much time, Suniel Shetty took a jibe and said he would give cues to Irrfan. &nbsp;Urging the media to use its common sense, Gazmer said, " In fact, Suneil sir sarcastically asked if he can give the cue. What was actually a jibe in good spirit by Suneil sir is being used as if there was something wrong with our command. I ask all media how is it possible to shoot in a Bathrobe? Please media tell me how would you ask a girl to shoot without a bathrobe? Wouldn’t we ask her to remove it before the shot? How can Suneil Shetty or any other experienced actor in right senses ever offer to give dance cues of a heroine? Is it possible to say something like that unless it’s a sarcasm?"<br />

Even if a hero was there same command would be given to him also. In this case, I don’t know what is the ultimate purpose of Tanushree but if she wants I am willing to sit face to face with her and repeat minute by minute account with her for media to check."</p>

<p>Incidentally, Sushama Reddy too shared GAzmer's long post and said, "I know Satya Gazmer to be as scrupulous as they come...I just can't tolerate unnecessary slander, given I was part of the project...hence vouching for what he is saying..(sic)"</p>

<p>Meanwhile, after maintaining a stoic silence on the matter, Agnihotri has now issued a statement saying that Dutta's allegations were intended to gain publicity. The filmmaker tweeted an image of the press release.&nbsp;</p>

"Their supporters are coming ahead and weaving damming allegations against me even shouting at the top of their voices at press conferences. Today while I was at home and the police personnel posted outside my home were on a lunch break two unnamed suspicious individuals tried getting into our home uninvited but were stopped just in time by security personnel in the building. Violent threats are being issued against me by the MNS party. I'm being threatened to be dragged into the court and legal system of India," stated Tanushree.<br />

Tanushree Dutta case: Artistes' body admits 'grievance was not addressed', apologises

<p>We are quick to point fingers at others when things go wrong. The recent allegation made by actress Tanushree Dutta on veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexual harassment has not just opened a can of worms in Bollywood but also got everyone divided. While most of Bollywood is being criticised (and rightly so) for not taking a stand and maintaining a stoic silence over a matter that needs urgent attention, there is also a certain section which has been constantly doubting Tanushree Dutta’s intent tagging the entire episode as a publicity stunt.</p>

<p>The incident happened ten years back on the sets of ‘Horn Ok Pleasss’ – a film that had Patekar playing a lead role while Dutta was signed in for a special number. Dutta states that it was supposed to be a solo number and she had rehearsed for different steps prior to the actual day of the shoot. On the day of the shoot, Nana Patekar insisted on joining and suggested steps to her which made her uncomfortable. As she stormed out of the set and locked herself in the vanity van, Tanushree alleges that the producer, the actor and the director called goons from MNS to vandalize her car as she tried to leave the set with her parents.</p>

<p>10 years on, as Tanushree brought up the topic in context to the global #MeToo movement in a recent TV interview. Bollywood, in its true fashion, has decided to remain mum. Some of the prominent names of the film industry like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan have evaded commenting on the issue. There are others like Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor who have come out in support of the actress and emphasised the importance to listen to her instead of questioning her intentions. And while Bollywood remains divided, the reactions from the common man have just highlighted the way our society functions.<br />

Is it right to hold only the film industry accountable? Cases of sexual intimidation and harassment are not new to us. Neither is it just restricted to Bollywood. It is prevalent in workplaces and even homes. And it has always made us uncomfortable. Haven’t we all heard some serious cases of harassment and then brushed it under the carpet? So many such cases are never reported because of the fear of unpleasantness that comes along with it. So many times the victim is made to feel ashamed, questioned and cross-examined to an extent that he or she feels guilty and at fault.</p>

<p>I have heard of women leaving their secured job because of sexual intimidation from male colleagues. In most cases, they had complained to the HR but the company failed to take appropriate action and eventually it aggravated the problem making it difficult for them to work. In these cases, the companies failed the women.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Then there are horrid stories of abuse within families where a cousin or a relative would have made advances or even worse sexually exploited a child at a young age. In such cases, neither is the relative ostracised nor the victim. The victim is forced to co-exist with her offender. How are these cases any different from what Bollywood did to Tanushree?</p>

<p>We are all culprits and as a society, we all need to grow a spine.&nbsp;</p>

<p><a href="http://www.wionews.com/entertainment/amitabh-bachchan-aamir-khan-avoid-commenting-tanushree-dutta-nana-patekar-controversy">Amitabh Bachchan’s reaction </a>on the matter is exactly how most people would behave. Sure, the man could be a tad sensitive or used a bit of tact while addressing the matter- but Big B’s reaction resonates the way most of the society reacts to such cases. There is a general apathy towards victims. 'Since it doesn’t concern us, we won’t get involved in it' is a common form of reaction in such cases. Actor Shakti Kapoor even made a joke of the matter. When he was asked to comment on the issue, 66-year-old Kapoor cheekily said, "I don't know what happened 10 years ago, I was a kid back then." Laughing it off is perhaps the best way to evade the unpleasant question.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The fact that a young budding star with an abysmal body of work complained about an established National Award-winning actor also did not help the case. Tanushree Dutta was best known for her raunchy roles in films like 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne' and 'Chocolate'- and had dared to take on an actor of Nana Patekar's stature- who has had a shining career in films for over two decades and spotless track record. It was easy to believe the man and not the girl - because she could be doing this for 'publicity'. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Outside of Bollywood too, men, especially those in power yield an unspoken tyrannical rule over others making their mistakes blur. The film industry is no different. Here misogyny is at its peak. What Tanushree went through is not new, scores of women, with aspirations in their heart, come to Bollywood to become a part of the glamour world and so many of them have to retract after going through similar experiences.&nbsp;</p>

None of the men had a difficult time. Their ego had won! The men got all the support that any industry ( not just the film industry) gives to powerful men. They may not be always speaking the truth, but that judgment can only be made after we hear all sides of the story. We are quick to point fingers at others when things go wrong. The recent allegation made by actress Tanushree Dutta on veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexual harassment has not just opened a can of worms in Bollywood but also got everyone divided. While most of Bollywood is being criticised (and rightly so) for not taking a stand and maintaining a stoic silence over a matter that needs urgent attention, there is also a certain section which has been constantly doubting Tanushree Dutta’s intent tagging the entire episode as a publicity stunt. The incident happened ten years back on the sets of ‘Horn Ok Pleasss’ – a film that had Patekar playing a lead role while Dutta was signed in for a special number. Dutta states that it was supposed to be a solo number and she had rehearsed for different steps prior to the actual day of the shoot. On the day of the shoot, Nana Patekar insisted on joining and suggested steps to her which made her uncomfortable. As she stormed out of the set and locked herself in the vanity van, Tanushree alleges that the producer, the actor and the director called goons from MNS to vandalize her car as she tried to leave the set with her parents. 10 years on, as Tanushree brought up the topic in context to the global #MeToo movement in a recent TV interview. Bollywood, in its true fashion, has decided to remain mum. Some of the prominent names of the film industry like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan have evaded commenting on the issue. There are others like Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor who have come out in support of the actress and emphasised the importance to listen to her instead of questioning her intentions. And while Bollywood remains divided, the reactions from the common man have just highlighted the way our society functions. Is it right to hold only the film industry accountable? Cases of sexual intimidation and harassment are not new to us. Neither is it just restricted to Bollywood. It is prevalent in workplaces and even homes. And it has always made us uncomfortable. Haven’t we all heard some serious cases of harassment and then brushed it under the carpet? So many such cases are never reported because of the fear of unpleasantness that comes along with it. So many times the victim is made to feel ashamed, questioned and cross-examined to an extent that he or she feels guilty and at fault. I have heard of women leaving their secured job because of sexual intimidation from male colleagues. In most cases, they had complained to the HR but the company failed to take appropriate action and eventually it aggravated the problem making it difficult for them to work. In these cases, the companies failed the women. Then there are horrid stories of abuse within families where a cousin or a relative would have made advances or even worse sexually exploited a child at a young age. In such cases, neither is the relative ostracised nor the victim. The victim is forced to co-exist with her offender. How are these cases any different from what Bollywood did to Tanushree? We are all culprits and as a society, we all need to grow a spine. Amitabh Bachchan’s reaction on the matter is exactly how most people would behave. Sure, the man could be a tad sensitive or used a bit of tact while addressing the matter- but Big B’s reaction resonates the way most of the society reacts to such cases. There is a general apathy towards victims. 'Since it doesn’t concern us, we won’t get involved in it' is a common form of reaction in such cases. Actor Shakti Kapoor even made a joke of the matter. When he was asked to comment on the issue, 66-year-old Kapoor cheekily said, "I don't know what happened 10 years ago, I was a kid back then." Laughing it off is perhaps the best way to evade the unpleasant question. The fact that a young budding star with an abysmal body of work complained about an established National Award-winning actor also did not help the case. Tanushree Dutta was best known for her raunchy roles in films like 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne' and 'Chocolate'- and had dared to take on an actor of Nana Patekar's stature- who has had a shining career in films for over two decades and spotless track record. It was easy to believe the man and not the girl - because she could be doing this for 'publicity'. Outside of Bollywood too, men, especially those in power yield an unspoken tyrannical rule over others making their mistakes blur. The film industry is no different. Here misogyny is at its peak. What Tanushree went through is not new, scores of women, with aspirations in their heart, come to Bollywood to become a part of the glamour world and so many of them have to retract after going through similar experiences. As Renuka Shahane rightly pointed out in a Facebook post, "Whose career did this incident affect? None of the men had a difficult time. Their ego had won!
