It's not often that cricket almost results in a diplomatic feud. Wimbledon Tournament organisers have issued a warning, stating that the quiet room, a secluded space near Court 12, designated for prayer and meditation should not be used by couples seeking sex, media reports said. As per witnesses, the quiet room has been reportedly misused for personal enjoyment by couples, causing dismay among visitors. Sally Bolton, Chief Executive of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, emphasised the significance of the quiet room, referring to it as a "sanctuary" and urged individuals to respect its intended purpose while speaking on the first day of the tournament.

Bolton reiterated that the space should be used for prayer, meditation, and even breastfeeding. But she underscored the need for proper usage of the quiet room. “It’s a really important space. So, we will be retaining it and we’ll be making sure that people are using it the right way."

“If people need space to go to pray, it’s the quiet space for that. There is an opportunity to breastfeed in there. But, we are looking for it to be used in the right way.”

Previous incidents of misuse

During the previous year's tournament, spectators witnessed couples emerging from the rooms behind court 12 with "sheepish" expressions.

Witnesses described encounters involving individuals, leaving no doubt about the sexual activities taking place inside the quiet room. Reports of "sounds of intimacy" coming from the rooms also surfaced, raising concerns about the misuse of the designated quiet space.

Asia Cup 2023: The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) recently announced the dates for Asia Cup 2023. The organisation further announced the hybrid model for the cricket tournament. This means that the continental championship will be held in two countries - Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Asia Cup 2023 will begin on August 31 and will have its final on September 17. Six countries will be participating in the tournament including India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal, Jagran reported.

The press release by ACC stated, "We are delighted to announce that the Asia Cup 2023 will be held from August 31 to September 17, and will see the elite teams from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal, compete in a total of 13 exciting ODI matches. The tournament will be hosted in a hybrid model with four matches being held in Pakistan, and the remaining nine matches being played in Sri Lanka."

India has accepted playing the game in a hybrid model. The news was shared in a tweet. It read, "ACC President Jay Shah accepted the Hybrid Model proposed by PCB for the Asia Cup 2023. Matches of India and Super Fours are likely to be played in Sri Lanka & the rest of the group stage matches including 'Nepal vs Pakistan' will be played in Pakistan."

There will be 13 ODI matches, Pakistan will host four games and Sri Lanka will host the remaining nine.

What is Hybrid Model in Cricket?

This is a relatively new rule set in cricket and has been discussed in the past year due to the Asia Cup 2023 controversy between India and Pakistan. The controversy was that India refused to travel to Pakistan, which will be hosting the Asia Cup over diplomatic and security issues.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) proposed this hybrid model in which the games involving India will be played outside Pakistan.

Both countries refused the hybrid model initially but after consideration, Sri Lanka agreed to host India's Asia Cup games. The UAE was also spotted as a possible venue for India's matches, but India wasn't too keen on it.

Now Pakistan retains the hosting rights for Asia Cup, while India will be playing games in Sri Lanka, a neutral venue for both countries. The final will also be played in Sri Lanka. Lahore has been chosen as the venue for the Pakistan leg of the championship.

Argentina star Lionel Messi has decided to join the Major League Soccer side Inter Miami. This move comes after months of speculation on Messi’s future. There were a lot of rumours about the former Paris-Saint Germain star going back to Barcelona. There was also a lot of talk swirling around the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner’s move to Saudi Arabia. But, Messi ultimately opted for Inter Miami. As per the latest information received, the Messi effect has started showing in the United States, with the ticket prices and sales rising exponentially.

Within a few hours of Lionel Messi’s announcement, the news caused an uproar in the United States. The match tickets for Inter Miami started soaring in sales and prices, with the price for the cheapest ticket in the secondary market being up by 1,000 percent.

According to a report in Forbes, the cheapest ticket for an Inter Miami League Cup match against Cruz Azul has jumped from $29 (Rs 2,3394) to $459 (Rs 37,891.60). This match on July 21 will be Messi’s first match with the club. Furthermore, the get-in price for Miami’s home match against New York Red Bulls, Messi’s first MLS match, has also jumped from $30 (Rs 2,476.58) to $512 (Rs 42,266.88).

Messi’s move to the MLS could be a big opportunity for the Inter Miami franchise and the league. Inter Miami’s followers shot up from around 1 million to 4.6 million following Messi’s announcement about leaving PSG. This also led to an adverse effect for PSG, who have now lost over a million followers since the Qatar World Cup winner left the team.

Speaking of his decision to go to Inter Miami, Messi said, "I've taken the decision that I am going to Miami, I don't have (the deal) 100 percent sealed or maybe there's something left to do, but we decided to continue our path there. (I decided) to leave Europe, it's true that I had offers from another European team but I didn't even think about it because in Europe, my idea was only to go to Barcelona. After winning the World Cup and not being able to go to Barca, it's time to go to MLS to live football in a different way and enjoy my day-to-day life more.”

Over the weekend, multiple media reports citing sources said that Sweden has become the first country in the world to officially register sex as a sport and will also host the first-ever European Sex Championship in Gothenburg on June 8. However, these reports have turned out to be fake.

What exactly transpired?

As it turns out, the details which first emerged on Twitter, turned out to be fake as Swedish news outlet Goterborgs-Posten reported back in April that the application from the so-called Swedish Federation of Sex’s chairman Dragan Bratych had been rejected by the National Sports Confederation in Sweden.

Bratych, as per the Swedish media report, runs several strip clubs in southern Sweden and submitted the application to become a member of the National Sports Confederation and told the local media that they have an organisation number and that sex is a sport like any other.

However, in a press release months later, the National Sports Confederation said that while the application from the Swedish Sex Federation was submitted on time, it was “incomplete". Additionally, at the time, some four other confederations had also been rejected.

Reported details about the first-ever European Sex Championship

The reported championship was to take place under the guidance of the Swedish Sex Federation and go on for six weeks, with participants engaging in sexual activities under 16 disciplines, including seduction, oral sex, penetration, and more, as per media reports.

The European Sex Championship was reported to begin on June 8 and go on for six weeks where participants were to engage in sexual activities for 45 minutes to an hour each day with their matches and/or activities. However, some reports also claimed that the competitions could go on for as long as six hours a day.

Reportedly, the championship was to witness the participation of 20 people from different countries. A panel of three judges as well as audience ratings were to decide the winner.

As per earlier reports, the competition was touted to have 16 disciplines, including oral sex, seduction, penetration, endurance, number of orgasms, knowledge about sex, chemistry and communication between the couple, appearance, and so on.

The participants were supposedly expected to be well-versed in the Sanskrit scripture on sex and eroticism, Kamasutra, and its application was supposed to fetch them extra points.

Recognition of sex as a sport inevitable: Dragan Bratych

The organisers apparently encouraged participation from people of different sexual orientations and hoped that other European countries adopted the same in the future.

“The incorporation of sexual orientation as a part of sporting tactics will be a groundbreaking development among European countries,” said the organisers, as per media reports.

Bratych also said that recognition of sex as a sport was inevitable, as per Times of India, and highlighted the potential for physical and mental well-being through sexual activity and the importance of training for it.

“Just like any other sport, achieving desired results in sex requires training. Therefore, it is only logical for people to start competing in this domain as well,” said Bratych, as quoted by Times of India.

The PCB proposed the hybrid model to ensure the participation of India. India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral series since early 2012 and all subsequent encounters have taken place on neutral ground and in multilateral events like the world cup or the Asia cup India have refused to travel to Pakistan citing security concerns and the PCB has offered to host all matches involving India in either the UAE or even in Sri Lanka.

Jose Mourinho is on track to guide AS Roma to back-to-back European titles after the Italian club defeated Bayer Leverkusen 1-0 in the first leg of the Europa League semi-finals. The Portuguese though may not remain at the helm of the Italian club after this season after being linked with French giants Paris Saint-Germain. Kevin De Bruyne's brilliant drive earned Manchester City a 1-1 draw at Real Madrid in a gripping Champions League semi-final first leg battle on Tuesday.

The Belgian slammed Pep Guardiola's visitors level after Vinicius Junior opened the scoring for the reigning champions from distance in similarly spectacular fashion.

Madrid managed to completely shackle lethal striker Erling Haaland but De Bruyne's powerful effort left the tie on a knife edge ahead of the second leg in Manchester next week.

The record 14-time winners knocked City out at the same stage last season despite being outplayed in both games, and took the lead at the Santiago Bernabeu against the run of play.

However when Madrid found their stride in the second half, City -- still chasing their first ever Champions League trophy -- hit back through De Bruyne.

"I don't think anyone will feel stronger, it's an open result, we knew it wasn't going to end here, and the tie is 50-50," Madrid midfielder Luka Modric told Movistar.

"When they had the ball, we were strong, we held our ground, after the goal we improved in pressing and on the ball, it's a pity about their goal."

Guardiola selected Kyle Walker at right-back to combat the pacy threat of Real Madrid winger Vinicius, while Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti opted for Toni Kroos at the base of midfield.

Rodrygo, who struck two late goals as a substitute last season against Manchester City to pave Madrid's passage into the final, started after his Copa del Rey heroics on Saturday.

The visitors controlled much of the first half, with nearly 70 percent possession, but went in trailing at the break.

Madrid's pressing was greatly improved after the break and they pinned City back at

However with Los Blancos ascendent, City sucker-punched them, just as Madrid did to the Premier League leaders in the first half.

"He's a massive player for us, he's always been great and he helped us in the moment we most needed it," Rodri told BT Sport.

"With this goal he gives us the confidence to keep pushing."

Ederson palmed away a Benzema header and a vicious Aurelien Tchouameni effort in the final stages but, as Guardiola predicted before the game, the tie will be decided in Manchester.

The second leg takes place on May 17, with the winner facing Inter Milan or AC Milan in the final.

"When they had the ball, we were strong, we held our ground, after the goal we improved in pressing and on the ball, it's a pity about their goal." Guardiola selected Kyle Walker at right-back to combat the pacy threat of Real Madrid winger Vinicius, while Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti opted for Toni Kroos at the base of midfield. Rodrygo, who struck two late goals as a substitute last season against Manchester City to pave Madrid's passage into the final, started after his Copa del Rey heroics on Saturday. The visitors controlled much of the first half, with nearly 70 percent possession, but went in trailing at the break. De Bruyne rocket leaves Man City and Madrid level

Napoli finally ended their long wait to win Italy's Serie A on Thursday after a 1-1 draw at Udinese secured their third league title with a record-equalling five games to play.

Thousands of fans in Udine, at the Stadio Maradona in Naples and all around southern Italy's biggest city exploded with joy at the final whistle as 33 years of waiting came to an end.

Supporters streamed onto the pitch at the Dacia Arena to celebrate after a season dominated by Luciano Spalletti's side, creating moments of tension with home fans not happy at such open partying on their ground.

Victor Osimhen scored the decisive goal in the second half as Napoli's current stars came back from trailing to Sandi Lovric's opener at half-time and emulated the teams led by Diego Maradona which won the league in 1987 and 1990.

Spalletti and his squad will receive an emotional welcome when they return to Naples, where the partying is set to continue to until at least their next home fixture against Fiorentina on Sunday evening.

"Seeing Neapolitans happy is enough to give you a sense of that joy they are feeling," Spalletti told DAZN on the verge of tears.

"These people will look to this moment when life gets hard, they have every right to celebrate like this. You feel a bit more relaxed knowing that you've given them this moment of happiness."

It was appropriate that Osimhen was the man to take Napoli over the line as the Nigeria striker has had the best season of his career and been key to Napoli's historic charge to glory.

Osimhen's title-deciding strike was his 22nd goal in 28 league appearances and rightly caused bedlam among the massed ranks of away fans who took over Udine.

Napoli's 16-point lead over second-placed Lazio leaves them with a month-long parade between now and the end of the season which will allow their long-suffering supporters to fully unload more than a generation of frustration.

Osimhen seals deal

Napoli were straight on the front foot but as on Sunday looked worryingly bereft of ideas in the final third, and the away side were stunned in the 13th minute following the first spell of play in Udinese's favour.

Lovric was given the freedom of the penalty area after being fed by Destiny Udogie, and the Slovenia midfielder took advantage by placing a lovely shot in the top corner.

Lovric stung the fingers of former Udine youth product Alex Meret in the Napoli goal just after the half-hour mark, by which point Napoli hadn't created a single goalscoring opportunity.

Seconds later Osimhen, who looked like Napoli's only hope of scoring in the opening period, headed a deep cross just the wrong side of the post.

And in the 52nd minute, the 24-year-old stepped up as so often he has this season to unleash a wave of relief and blue smoke from the stands with his 27th goal in all competitions.

Osimhen was on hand to ram home the leveller when, after a corner, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's low shot was blocked and fell to the clinical striker.

He had the ball in the net again in the 67th minute but was denied by referee Rosario Abisso who rightly whistled for a foul by Eljif Elmas.

But by that point the fans grew ever more sure that Thursday night would be the night, chanting victory songs in Udine while flares billowed and fireworks were set off at the other end of the country.

While fans had to be cleared from the pitch in Udine to avoid clashes with home supporters the Stadio Maradona was lit up by phones held by teary-eyed Neapolitans singing along to songs by late local singer-songwriter Pino Daniele.
