The missile test came just hours after South Korea and the United States wrapped up their first joint military drill involving a US aircraft carrier in more than four years, according to AFP. It was also confirmed by the Japanese Coastguard who cited the defence ministry and said that “possible ballistic missiles” were launched on Pyongyang’s orders. Earlier, North Korea has expressed its displeasure at the joint drills conducted by South Korea and the United States by calling them “rehearsals for invasion” and the launch is being seen as an answer to the drills.</p>

North Korea test-fires ballistic missile after US, South Korea stage drills

<p>Neymar scored a pair of penalties to move to within four goals of Pele at the top of the country`s all-time scoring list as Brazil cruised to a 5-1 win over fellow World Cup qualifiers South Korea at Seoul World Cup Stadium on Thursday.</p>

<p>The Paris St Germain striker netted either side of halftime to move onto 73 goals in 118 appearances for his country and close in on the three-time World Cup winner`s record in a comfortable win for Tite`s side. Richarlison gave Brazil the lead in the seventh minute and, although Hwang Ui-jo levelled for Korea just after the half-hour mark, it was the visitors who always looked more likely to prevail.</p>

<p>Neymar netted from the spot to put his side back in front three minutes before halftime and he was on hand with another penalty in the 57th minute before late goals from Philippe Coutinho and Gabriel Jesus put the seal on a comprehensive win. Billed in some quarters as a battle between Neymar and South Korea`s Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min, it was Brazilian and his team mates who dominated in an often one-sided contest.</p>

<p>The South Americans took the lead early when Alex Sandro stormed into the penalty area and cut back to Fred, whose attempt was redirected past Kim Seung-gyu by Richarlison from close range. Brazil had already seen Thiago Silva`s header ruled out for offside while Raphinha and Dani Alves also went close before the Koreans scored against the run of play in the 31st minute.</p>

<p>Receiving possession with his back to goal, Hwang used all his upperbody strength to hold off Silva before turning to fire his right foot shot into the far corner. The Brazilians, though, were back in front in the 42nd minute when referee Ryuji Sato awarded a penalty following a VAR review as Lee Yong upended Sandro and Neymar coolly slotted in.</p>

<p>He was even more composed when he rolled his second spot kick of the game home three minutes before the hour mark after Sandro was again brought down in the box, this time by Kim Young-gwon. Coutinho added the fourth with 10 minutes remaining and Jesus scored a fifth three minutes into injury time when he sprinted through the Korea defence to score low into the corner.</p>

South Korea terms North's missile launches 'grave provocation'

The United States and South Korea held combined live-fire drills on Wednesday in response to North Korea's missile tests just after US President Joe Biden ended his first Asia trip.

<p>A paper plane is something that almost everyone has tried to make as a kid. It is quite common for kids to make paper planes and even compete among themselves to see whose plane can go the furthest. However, even in their wildest imagination, they would not have imagined that it can travel a distance of almost 80 metres. The number may sound unbelievable, but it is now a reality as South Korea’s Kim Kyu Tae created a world record for the farthest flight of a paper aircraft.</p>

<p>Kyu Tae was supported by compatriot Shin Moo Joon and Malaysia’s Chee Yie Jian/Julian as the paper aircraft created by them covered an impressive distance of 252 feet and seven inches (77.134 m). The record was officially recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records this week.</p>

<p>According to the Guinness Book of World Records, they broke the record once held by Joe Ayoob and paper airplane designer John M. Collins of the United States since 2012.</p>

<p>They even posted a video of the feat along with the caption - “Farthest flight of a paper aircraft: 77.134 m (252 ft 7 in) by Kim Kyu Tae🇰🇷. With the support of Shin Moo Joon (South Korea) and Chee Yie Jian/Julian (Malaysia) AKA “Shin Kim Chee Team,” says the caption of the video.</p>

<p>The trio had their own set of expertise with Shin folding the aircraft, Chee coming up with the design and Kim throwing it in the official attempt.</p>

A paper plane is something that almost everyone has tried to make as a kid. It is quite common for kids to make paper planes and even compete among themselves to see whose plane can go the furthest. However, even in their wildest imagination, they would not have imagined that it can travel a distance of almost 80 metres. The number may sound unbelievable, but it is now a reality as South Korea’s Kim Kyu Tae created a world record for the farthest flight of a paper aircraft. Kyu Tae was supported by compatriot Shin Moo Joon and Malaysia’s Chee Yie Jian/Julian as the paper aircraft created by them covered an impressive distance of 252 feet and seven inches (77.134 m). The record was officially recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records this week. Collins of the United States since 2012. They even posted a video of the feat along with the caption - “Farthest flight of a paper aircraft: 77.134 m (252 ft 7 in) by Kim Kyu Tae🇰🇷. With the support of Shin Moo Joon (South Korea) and Chee Yie Jian/Julian (Malaysia) AKA “Shin Kim Chee Team,” says the caption of the video. The trio had their own set of expertise with Shin folding the aircraft, Chee coming up with the design and Kim throwing it in the official attempt. Nuclear threat from North Korea looms large on US-South Korea meet in Seoul

US President Joe Biden has embarked on his first trip to Asia. He is currently in South Korea. This is Biden's first trip to Asia as President and he will meet new leaders of South Korea and Japan.

South Korea: US President Joe Biden tours through a Samsung factory

<p>US President Joe Biden kick-started his first leg of the Asian tour with his visit to South Korea on Friday as Washington looks to boost its alliance in the region which has been witnessing rising Chinese commercial and military power.</p>

<p>Notably, this is Biden’s first trip to the Asian region after he became the president.</p>

<p>The president landed at the Osan Air Base, south of Seoul. He is expected to hold talks with his recently elected counterpart Yoon Suk-yeol on some pressing issues, including North Korea.</p>

<p>Moreover, there are reports that North Korea may be using his trip to test an underground nuclear or intercontinental ballistic missile.</p>

<p>According to CNN, which has quoted officials, Pyongyang has been getting ready to fuel an intercontinental ballistic missile, one of the key final stages in preparing for a test launch.</p>

<p>The White House said it has prepared for all contingencies, including a test occurring while Biden is on the Korean peninsula.</p>

<p>Biden will also visit US and South Korean troops, but will not make the traditional presidential trek to the fortified frontier known as the DMZ between South and North Korea, the White House said.</p>

<p>Hours ahead of Biden arriving, Suk-yeol signalled a warm welcome, tweeting: "A mountain shows its way to the summit to those who seek it. I am confident the ROK-US alliance that seeks to uphold the values of democracy and human rights shall only elevate in the future."</p>

<p>After his three-day trip, Biden will next travel to Japan for bilateral talks with the country's prime minister Fumio Kishida.</p>

<p>Apart from that, he will also be meeting the leaders of Japan, Australia and India for the Quad gathering and launch the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework&nbsp;(IPEF), an agreement that seeks to set standards on supply chains, worker protections, decarbonisation and anti-corruption.</p>

US President Joe Biden kick-started his first leg of the Asian tour with his visit to South Korea on Friday as Washington looks to boost its alliance in the region which has been witnessing rising Chinese commercial and military power. Notably, this is Biden’s first trip to the Asian region after he became the president. The president landed at the Osan Air Base, south of Seoul. He is expected to hold talks with his recently elected counterpart Yoon Suk-yeol on some pressing issues, including North Korea. Moreover, there are reports that North Korea may be using his trip to test an underground nuclear or intercontinental ballistic missile. According to CNN, which has quoted officials, Pyongyang has been getting ready to fuel an intercontinental ballistic missile, one of the key final stages in preparing for a test launch. The White House said it has prepared for all contingencies, including a test occurring while Biden is on the Korean peninsula. Biden will also visit US and South Korean troops, but will not make the traditional presidential trek to the fortified frontier known as the DMZ between South and North Korea, the White House said. Hours ahead of Biden arriving, Suk-yeol signalled a warm welcome, tweeting: "A mountain shows its way to the summit to those who seek it. I am confident the ROK-US alliance that seeks to uphold the values of democracy and human rights shall only elevate in the future." After his three-day trip, Biden will next travel to Japan for bilateral talks with the country's prime minister Fumio Kishida.
