<p>“I am a huge supporter of the #MeToo movement and this is a very important question... This is not the right platform because our film is as important as the movement.</p>

<p>“I know Raju Hirani very well, I have known him for many years and I have huge respect for him as a filmmaker and as a man. I think we all should reserve judgement and be very responsible before we say anything more on this subject.. Because we don’t need to derail this movement,” Sonam said.</p>

<p>Sonam, who has lent her voice to the #MeToo movement in the past, said more understanding is needed about the movement. “Media and all journalists don’t understand how important the pen is, how important your voice is and it can make or break a person’s life. So wait, do proper research and ask what is actually happening and understand what is actually happening. I promise after the film releases, I will have something to say.</p>

<p>“But till things are not clear, don’t make click-bait articles and play with somebody’s life. It will derail the movement completely.” She further added, “I always want to believe a woman but suppose by chance, if it is not true, then how bad it will be for the movement, especially if it is somebody like Raju Hirani.”&nbsp;</p>

In the domestic market alone the film has earned a whopping Rs 450 crore, making it the fourth highest Indian grosser of all time, only behind the mega blockbusters such as 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion', 'Baahubali: The Beginning' and 'Dangal'. Its Tamil version is inching towards crossing the Rs 100 crore mark. It must be noted that very few Tamil films are able to achieve this feat. Films like 'Sarkar', 'Mersal', Rajini's 'Enthiran' and the 'Baahubali' series are some of the films that have crossed the Rs 100 crore mark. The overseas revenue of '2.0' has also been stupendous and crossed the $17.5 million mark (Rs 127 crore) in 11 days. According to trade pundits, the film is likely to gain more in the coming weeks but its business may get affected post 21 December- when Shah Rukh Khan's 'Zero' hits the theatres. 'Sanju', 'Newton' earns nominations at Australian Academy awards

<p>As Manisha Koirala gears for her next where she essays the role of iconic late actress Nargis Dutt in the upcoming film titled “Sanju”, she opened up in an interview about her life before and after cancer and her future projects.</p>

<p>In the interview, Manisha spoke gladly about her post-recovery phase and said, "I am embracing life with open arms! I’m doing things which I love. I feel I can do a few things, but I’m fully present because I’m enjoying them. I love nature, hiking, trekking, taking long walks... so I’m doing all that."</p>

<p>Manish made her comeback to Hindi films with “Dear Maya”, post-recovery and will be seen next in three upcoming films. Speaking about the experience, Manisha said, "Have you heard of this Italian movie called Il Postino? I love Pablo Neruda’s poetry and this film is about his encounter with a postman, who used to bring his letters. The actor, Massimo Troisi, who played the latter, passed away after the film was shot. I know the value of an actor because cinema and acting is everything for me. If you love your work so much that this could be the last thing you would be doing before you say goodbye to the world, then it’s the best thing. I’ve rediscovered my love for acting."</p>

<p>Manisha will now be seen in “Sanju” biopic and on the role she said, "There was a trial of Bombay at Ajanta Theatre owned by Dutt Saab. After seeing it, he called me and said, ‘Manisha, you reminded us of Nargis Duttji.’ That was a massive compliment for me! After so many years, I am playing her. But I was not very confident. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to do justice to the role. So, I was nervous but Rajji (Rajkumar Hirani) and his team were thoroughly prepared. We did look tests, held discussions and he made me watch documentaries on her. Then I met Priya Dutt, who sent me a book written about her parents. I never got a chance to talk to Baba (Sanjay Dutt) about her, but all this work helped me perform."</p>

<p>On her association with Sanjay Dutt, she said that she is connected to him since her childhood and that she had become her fan when “Rocky” released. She recalled that she was in the sixth or seventh grade at that time. She had stuck up pictures of Sanjay Dutt behind her almirah door.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the song, Ranbir can be seen lip-syncing to a woman`s voice which is kind of comical. The song has been composed by Rohan-Rohan and written by Puneet.</p>

'Sanju' trailer releases, Internet explodes with hilarious memes around the film

<p>Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani today said he had offered the part of Sunil Dutt to Aamir Khan for the<a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/entertainment-sanju-trailer-ranbir-kapoor-plays-many-shades-of-sanjay-dutt-in-rajkumar-hiranis-film--140941"> 'Sanju'&nbsp;biopic</a> but the superstar was reluctant to play an older character after 'Dangal'.</p>

<p>Khan recently revealed that he was offered the role of Sunil Dutt in the biopic, but he was more keen to play the lead role, which was already with Ranbir Kapoor.</p>

<p>When asked about this, Hirani said,?"Aamir is a friend and whenever I write a script, I narrate it to him to get a reaction. I had narrated this to him as well, not with the intention of casting him to play any role (but because) he reacts very interestingly to the script. Out of greed, I asked him if he would play Sunil Dutt's role."</p>

<p>The director said Aamir turned down the role but not without giving it some thought.</p>

<p>"He took it seriously and gave it a thought and said let's meet next week. When I met him, he showed me 'Dangal' and said 'I am already playing an older role, if my next film after this is again an older role, people will stop giving me young man's role', which was a valid argument," the director told reporters at the trailer launch of the biopic.</p>

<p>The entire star cast of the film was present at the trailer launch.</p>

<p>Ranbir plays the titular role in 'Sanju'&nbsp;which features Paresh Rawal as Sunil Dutt, Sonam Kapoor as one of the girlfriends of Dutt, Dia Mirza as his wife Manyata, Manisha Koirala as his mother Nargis and Vicky Kaushal as his friend.</p>

<p>The movie also features Anushka Sharma, and Hirani revealed that she is actually enacting him and co-writer Abhijat Joshi.</p>

<p>"Anushka is playing the role of me and Abhijat. She is playing a biographer from London who comes here and Sanju wants her to write a book on him but she's reluctant. When he was narrating his story to us, even we were wondering if we should do it or not.</p>

<p>"Sometimes we used to sit with policemen, lawyers, family. We were in two minds whether to do it or not. So she is actually playing us, but not a filmmaker, a biographer," Hirani said.</p>

<p>At the launch, Paresh Rawal revealed that he had once received a birthday letter from Sunil Dutt in 2005 out of the blue and he still has the letter.</p>

<p>"Usually, we discard birthday letters after a while but that particular letter stayed in my drawer. This is a wonderful connection. I think I was meant to play Dutt sahab's role," Rawal said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Koirala, who plays Nargis Dutt, said when her film 'Bombay' had released, Sunil Dutt sent her a letter saying 'You remind me of Nargis Duttji'.</p>

<p>"I really take that as a huge compliment," Koirala said.</p>

It is finally out! After weeks of teasing fans with posters of the film, the makers released the trailer of 'Sanju' on Wednesday afternoon. Featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay Dutt, the film will highlight the ups and downs of the controversial stars life. The scale is massive and the film stars a gamut of Bollywood actors playing important roles in the film which is being headlined by Ranbir Kapoor. The trailer indicates that the film is spread across four decades- from the time Dutt made his debut in Rocky to his time spent in jail till 2016. Aamir said when Rajkumar Hirani, who has directed him in '3 Idiots'&nbsp;and 'PK', narrated the idea of 'Sanju'&nbsp;to him, he fell in love with the script and felt it was written beautifully. Sunil Dutt's role is now being played by Paresh Rawal in the biopic.<br />

"He wanted me to play Sunil Dutt sahab's role and it is a fantastic role. Largely, it is a father-son story. But Sanju's role is unbelievable. I told Raju, Sanjay Dutt's role is so great that it has won my heart... So in this film, I can't do any other role but that of Sanjay Dutt, which I can't do as Ranbir Kapoor is doing it.<br />

"So, don't offer me any other role as I won't be able to do it. I can't come to the sets thinking this should have been my lines. That role has won my heart and I am sure Ranbir has done it really well, he is a fantastic actor. Aamir, 53, said he had met Sunil Dutt and remembers him as a person who was "graceful, and dignified".<br />

"He used to send me telegrams on Diwali, Eid, birthdays and congratulatory messages. There would be like three-four word messages like 'congratulations, well done'," Aamir recalled.&nbsp;<br />

The actor said he once ended up spending a night under the statue of Mahatma Gandhi with Sunil Dutt and three other stalwarts of the industry in 1993, during the Mumbai riots.<br />

"When Mumbai riots happened in 1993, the film industry took out a delegation to the chief minister saying bring in the Army, do what you had to do to stop the riots. Around 30 to 40 people had driven to the CM office.&nbsp;<br />

"... We decided we will sit near Mahatma Gandhi's statue near Mantralaya and will protest in open (to) stop the riots and we won't get up until violence stops. We took turns. Five people including me, Dutt sahab, Yash Chopra ji, Johnny Walker and a producer were there on the first night of protest."<br />

Calling the time spent with the legends as memorable, the'Dangal' star said they ended up sharing stories about their careers.<br />

"I was listening to the stories (about the) career of Dutt sahab, Yash ji and Johnny Walker... It was a wonderful time. It was a memorable night for me under the statue. By the next evening, the CM took some action and things went to normal."<br />

The actor, who has completed 30 years in Hindi cinema, is busy working on his next big release 'Thugs of Hindostan', scheduled to arrive in theatres in December.&nbsp;<br />

Akshay Kumar was earlier set to play the lead role in Gulshan Kumar biopic 'Mogul' but reports suggested that Aamir may step in following his exit.<br />
