Salman's team has sent a legal notice to news agency ANI over an allegedly defamatory article about the actor published on September 4.

According to a report in Live Law, the article also included an interview of advocate Amit Mishra who represents Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, the two persons accused in the firing case. The article was also published by other publications that are subscribers to ANI.

By publishing and distributing Mishra’s interview, Khan alleged that ANI spread false and defamatory information about him and his alleged contacts with Dawood Ibrahim.

The news article published on September 4 quotes Mishra's claim that his clients have been threatened by D-Company members and thus they have sought police protection.

The counsel further alleged that Khan has "known links" with a gangster and perhaps he wants to get the two (Pal & Gupta) killed. The actor contended that the allegations were “misguided and misconceived” and that Mishra and ANI had intended to create controversy with them.

“Our client (Khan) denies all the allegations,” Live Law quoted from the notice. “[They] are absolutely false, baseless, malicious, grossly defamatory, misleading, damaging and are made with an intent to malign the image and goodwill of our client before the public at large…”

Khan said he was a “victim of the criminal act” and is “absolutely not concerned with the accused persons in any manner whatsoever”.

Khan has demanded an unconditional apology from ANI and Mishra within 48 hours. The legal notice was sent on Thursday. The actor also asked the news agency to remove the article from its website.

Salman Khan's epic romantic film with Bhagyashree, Maine Pyar Kiya, to re-release in theatres

Noted lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar went down memory lane during the trailer launch event of the docuseries Angry Young Men. The three-part docuseries is based on Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar who went by the name of Salim-Javed and wrote several iconic Hindi films in the 1970s. At the trailer launch event on Tuesday, the two stalwarts were joined by their children on stage- Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar and Sohail Khan.

At the event, Javed Akhtar recounted his first meeting with Salim Khan and the initial days of their journey. Akhtar also spoke about Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan's early days. Javed Akhtar called Salman an "exceptionally good-looking child" who used to be "shy".

Recalling the day when he first visited Salim Khan's Bandra house, Javed Akhtar said, "When I visited Salim Sahab's home for the first time, Salman was not even one year old. He looks so handsome now, but it is not what happened recently. Woh bachpan se hi khoobsurat the (He was a beautiful child). He was an exceptionally good-looking child. There used to be a black-and-white picture of Salman in Salim Sahab's living room. It was a small frame. I don't know if he still has it. The other kids were born in front of me."

Javed Akhtar then added that Salman used to be a quiet child. "What is interesting is that today Salman is 'He Man', the 'dashing hero,' but he was this shy boy, bohot hi kam bolne wala, bohot hi chupp chaap rehne wala bacchha tha (reserved and soft-spoken child). He would quietly sit in a corner."
The noted lyricist then pointed out at Arbaaz, seated in the audience, and said "Arbaaz was the badmaash bacchha (notorious one)."
"He was a regular seducer. He never had ruffled hair. Even as a 6-year-old, he would have his hair done up. Have you ever seen a 6-year-old comb their hair? Arbaaz used to do it. (Laughs heartily). He had a lot of self-love. Whenever Salim Sahab's friends would come, Arbaaz used to be friendly with all of them," Javed Akhtar added.
